I'm going camping the 24th - 28th and I'm pretty sure I won't have cell service. Is it worth it to keep track of my points and ask the WLC admins to log them when I get back to a place with cell service?

Or am I crazy to think that I'll be keeping track while camping? I do think I'll be able to stay somewhat on track. I want points for the hiking I'm about to do!

Camping seems like you'll have a lot of opportunity to do challenge elements. Even if you aren't totally compliant with nutrition, you'll have exercise, mobility, hydration, etc.

The paleo guy Robb Wolf wrote a new book called Wired to Eat. And explained that you shouldn't feel like a failure for these nutrition relapses because you are genetically wired to take advantage of these foods. Anytime you are saying no, you are resisting your biological urge to feast and that should be commended!
Did anyone else watch Embrace on netflix? I just loved that documentary. It's about body image and wow. I cried and laughed through the whole thing, I wish everyone could see it!

What are you guys doing for your do something you love practice? Any ideas? The same thing every day or something different? I am so looking forward to this LP!!! Sometimes at the end of the day when I collapse into bed I realize that I did not do one thing for myself that was just for me. I'm going to do something different each day...starting with reading a book I just got from the library. Another would be to run on a bike trail or someplace scenic! I run mostly on the treadmill or my lame neighborhood and I am so tired of it. Shopping for new make-up stuff at Ulta or Sephora is another. These probably seem silly but those are the ideas I have so far and I can't wait for some "me" time!

Ok, today is my last day of vacation and our big travel binge. I'm going to be so glad to get home and get back on track- not just challenge wise, I mean my whole life. Traveling is fun but man, this schedule is killing me. I need some order and repetition. leatherpants, I'll check out the documentary when I get home. cincymama, hugs. Also, I'm not sure why, but it's pretty universal- everyone's second challenge is hard. And you are not a failure- the food you eat is not a measure of your self worth, and neither is your weight, or your score in the challenge. These are also just numbers and they don't define you in any way. Thank you for this thisbitch. You always have a way of making me feel better

It's coming at a perfect time because we're going to a cabin on the beach for a few days and I'm off through Wednesday. I plan on reading, hunting for critters in tide pools with my kids which is one of my favorite things, maybe a bonfire, riding bikes.

I'll keep it by hand and add days in if we go into town / have cell service. Just don't think I've quit if you see a lot of days that aren't scored for me. I'll Be camping again July 10-15 as well. leatherpants, thank you for sharing. I really am struggling with nutrition...and everything. I don't know...I underestimated the pregnancy element...and HG. My goal was to not gain crazy amounts of weight this pregnancy....and so far, I haven't...but I am not giving myself credit for that. I definitely am making conscious choices to be healthier....like walking to the park 2.5 miles away with my kid on my days off, and not taking rides when offered most days....but somehow I don't count it. gingy...I feel you on the nothing sounding good I should just eat salad thing. The emotional power of food has me like..."even if I don't love it, at least I can rest easy in the knowledge that I am eating pizza which is such a special treat." Food is srs business for me in my family and culture, so hard to interrupt those signals.

Also I am having a delayed pissy reaction to the whole TCF meltdown....I am good in a crisis but man, watch out when the dust settles.
This is for sure a character flaw of mine.

I, like many of you, find it hard to make time for myself. I like being busy. So I'm really looking forward to having to do something for me each day.

I'm not sure I'd say it's a character flaw. I think it's a characteristic of a lot of support professions when you have to keep it together during a crisis. But everyone had to have their feelings sometime. Hope you can work through it. ❤️

I've always had the same personality trait, even before I worked in a support profession. yoginikiki, it was a big life event, for all of us. The group managed to push through, and we ended up here but it came at an emotional cost to many of us, I believe. We all have our own way of processing it. I know you know all of that, I still felt compelled to say it. We can never go back to what was before- to how we were. There were words and actions and feelings that can't be undone. You know if you want to talk, I'm here. Hugs, lady. I'm glad the challenge happened during this time. It hasn't been a great challenge performance wise for me, but this group and the thread are very much my board touchstone, my safe place, and I was glad to have that during a period of adjustment and unrest.

What are you guys doing for your do something you love practice? Any ideas? The same thing every day or something different? I'm doing something art related every day. I've been wanting to do some shibori dying, so that is one of the things I'll make time for. And then also some drawing and some sewing.

Hi guys. I've been MIA. Work and life have been very busy and I've been battling a nasty cold that seems to have settled into just allergies.
I need to get my butt back in gear in the nutrition and do better exercise. This LP is a wake up call because I can't remember what I love to do for me anymore. I get joy out of doing things for my family, for instance, I love to cook, but the things that I used to do for myself seem impossible at this stage of life, like playing softball. Maybe I can get to the beach this week a few times.

I had a strangely hard time coming up with something to do.
I decided on imaginary decorating houses that I like via pinterest boards. Looking at houses and then shopping to make them homes is relaxing to me....it is a nice reward for the packing and spackling I've been doing to get this god forsaken place on the market lol.

Mine ended up being a little odd today, but still good. My friend had a birthday party for her boys, so I got there early and helped her and her parents finish getting things ready (the 3 of them just get so nit picky with each other and it stresses them all. They function better when there's another person jumping in). Then we went to my hometown's annual celebration. I haven't been there for it in a couple years, and haven't been to the fireworks since before DS was born.
So we did all that today. And I love doing walkouts, so I did some of those today.

I made my LP playing games with my kids. We really enjoy it but I always put it off because I'm too busy. It's much easier to do when camping but hopefully I can stick with it when I get home, too. I also jumped off a waterfall today, so there's that, too. ETA: I came into town with my H for a drink and him to do a bit of email work so I was able to score for yesterday and check in Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I went for a run tonight while DH put the 3yo to bed. I'm counting that as something I love and my workout since I ran outside instead of on the treadmill. The weather was perfect for it!

I haven't done the something I love any days so far. I'm not sure what I love? And I don't want to DO anything else, but I think this is a great LP and I should try it.
On Saturday I was going to take a nap, but I ran out of time and skipped it.

thisbitch or anyone else trying to decide what to do this week, one of my favorite podcasts had a segment about finding a hobby or a passion. She asked what you liked to do when you were 10. Chances are you'd still enjoy it now but would never think to do it. I used to be a lot more creative. I drew and wrote short stories. I haven't done either in a long time, so I'm working on projects for SD's room that require creativity.

Hi guys- hope everyone is rocking this challenge. I think of you guys almost every day even if I'm absent. I haven't even been lurking since I have to click one more button to get here. Two questions: yoginikiki, can you please quote this and give me your link for those stretches. I've lost them again and have no idea how. GhoatMonket, which protein shake did you recommend to - I think - Angel? Thanks both! Per my new normal, I'm swamped at work and hating it. I'm taking small steps- at the moment- to eventually make big changes, work, life, etc. so hopefully I'll be able to manage life/ work/ activities better.
