lfig your H cracks me up. You both do have a very full plate and you handle it all with a lot of grace. What did you decide about the lotion swiping incident? It’s the weirdest thing to take. One time we had this huge Pimp and Ho party at my house, and someone stole all my skincare products. Gross and strange. Who wants partially used facial cleanser and moisturizers? Bizarre. Ok - First of all, I am cracking up at your Pimp an Ho party! Sounds like a good time! The lotion thing is weird. I really just don't know. There really isn't anyone else that would have been in here to take it. She is still in the area and working at our HQ office today. She mentioned possibly coming by to go over some things with me today. I hope she does, so then I will totally be like..."Hey I had some lotion sitting here that I brought back from my trip to Fiji, have you seen it? It has disappeared, soooo weird!". Lol.

Rainy day here, I think we missed this storm just barely. I have a doctor's appt today so a bit anxious about that. J is totally getting sick bc he's clingy and the perpetually swollen lymphe node is more noticeable - his teacher was like wth is that?! Oh and I just submitted our claims for 2019 dependent care so I can get the money back as it's deposited. Highly recommend doing it this way...sidenote - it is very depressing I've hit the max 2 months into the year😖. Where do I need to live that $5k gets you through a decent chunk of the year? 😳😳 You already reached $5k? Wow. I don’t reach it until end of Sept. I reach mine next month.

I’m sorry. cagoldi It’s the never-ending sick season. So rough for everyone. For both kids we pay a little under 1400 a month and that’s with M in private school and after school care. Maybe I’m ok with staying Deep South until both the kids are a little older. LOL. Over $2k/month for daycare is like woah. This is about what I paid for full time infant care for 1 kid. We now pay about $2650 for both and that includes lunches. Everything is extra on top of that (parents nights out, field trips, etc) Next year it will go down when S is in public school but I’ll still have after care. HCOL area stinks.

I pay 1052/month for Cadence. That includes food, but she doesn't eat it, so I basically pay for both the dc food and lunch from home. It will be cheaper for the summer (I think) and then next year it will be like $700 less because I'll only be paying for after school care. *Hallelujah*

My goodness those childcare costs are insane!!! Seriously it wouldn’t cover my salary if I had to pay that much. Do employees pay a part or government? This is the case over here.
For example dd goes to daycare/preschool 10 hours a week. The cost is roughly €285 per months, after deductibles we pay around €175 per month. We’re on the high end since the Waldorf place costs more per hour than a regular place. Full time (50 hours) 2 kids would accumulate to about €1300 in a regular daycare after deductibles and employees part (€3500 without).
ETA daycare is till four, after that kids go to school.

I emailed the doctor. When i got to work the majority of her labs were released in My Chart. We're still waiting on one of the poop results but everything else is normal. I just need to know about the xray and whether we should start the antihistamine or not.

Daycare costs are another factor in having a third for me. It’s probably selfish, but I want to do more travel-wise and give my kids different experiences and having another would make that harder under our current circumstances.

X doesn’t seem to be doing any better despite the ABX so I think I need to call and see about doing Rocephin injections. P’s chest seems all rattled and I’m suspecting bronchitis, maybe? EI, then Croup, then flu, so it’s not out of the question at all. And I’m going to have to do Teledoc or something because I’m feeling like I’ve got pneumonia again or maybe it never cleared up entirely. I was sure 2019 couldn’t be any worse than 2018 but we are off to a really rough start over here. It's really never ending. I hope teledoc will give you something.

I don't think this is selfish at all. I think you have put thought into your future and what is more important to you and your family and are making difficult decisions based on that. Same reason some of us have 1 and others have 3 or 4. It's what we can each make work for us financially and personally.

What are some of the summer options for you guys for this age group? Camps or daycare? We have a lot of the local camps (private and town) that run 8 weeks from 9-4ish, and some places that do week long (both half and full day)specialities (cooking, nature, art, dance, etc)

I feel like there’s 8000 factors that go into the decision to have kids. Money is 100% one of them, and wanting your kids to have great experiences is the furthest thing from selfish

The town rec runs a camp but it’s only till like 3 so it’s not an option. We are doing the Y camp. It runs 9-4 but there’s before and after care for those that need it. Most of his day care class are doing the same camp, and they swim daily etc

I was going to try and do a dance camp for Cadence, but it was $$$, so I'm just going to let her do the dc summer "camp". She's excited because they have field trips on Fridays. I will also have her enrolled in 2 5 week classes for dance. A ballet/tap combo and a jazz/hip hop combo. If she likes the jazz/hip hop then I'll enroll her for the year.

The week long here are super pricey. I think they try to cram so much in that they really up the charges. The eight week privates are also high, but it’s such a more rounded day usually with food.

There’s a cost-benefit analysis everyone has to do for their individual situation and that’s not just WRT money, either. I definitely have major guilt about time constraints because I feel like we can’t give X everything he needs, attention wise, at the moment he needs it.

This summer we’re going to cobble something together with PTO, camp at school, and camp at YMCA or the science museum. I think the camps start at 8 or 9 am? I’m going to be at home with them following that for at least a couple years, then IDK what we’ll do once I’m back at work.

Summer camp/programs: This is the downfall to living where we do. We just don't have anything really. So S will go to a babysitter. Summer school *might* be offered depending on interest levels. But that is only for the month of June.

Our elementary school starts at 7:30 and then we'll pay for aftercare. That’s a nice early start! They just redid the start times for all of the schools in our district this year. Houston ISD is very large and they had 67 different start times, so this is supposed to help with streamlining transportation. Lots of older siblings drop off kids at elementary schools so the middle schools & high schools now start at 8:30.

Also morning! Brain storming about the new campaign we’re starting at work, I was so fun! We’re looking someone to make short films, cool pictures, young people who want to tell their story etc. Home alone tonight since Dh has parent teacher meetings, being on the trashy tv (or baby shows on tlc...).

Teenage brains are actually not awake at 730 when most high schools start.
