Rainy day here, I think we missed this storm just barely. I have a doctor's appt today so a bit anxious about that. J is totally getting sick bc he's clingy and the perpetually swollen lymphe node is more noticeable - his teacher was like wth is that?! Oh and I just submitted our claims for 2019 dependent care so I can get the money back as it's deposited. Highly recommend doing it this way...sidenote - it is very depressing I've hit the max 2 months into the year😖. Where do I need to live that $5k gets you through a decent chunk of the year? 😳😳 You already reached $5k? Wow. I don’t reach it until end of Sept. With both kids!? Are they full time?

N is more due to age but will go down slightly each year. HCOL areas are no joke. This is cheaper than our old center that kind of sucked, but this is work subsidized a bit. Thankfully they do have a scholarship program available so it's accessible to all families in the community. ETA: now you guys know why I'm freaking out about #3. Going to look for an in home daycare to see if we can find a cheaper option for infant care..

We’re paying $2,550/month for all three kids, and that’s kind of mid-range for our area. Dude is only $450/month because he just does before/after care at public. If he were still at DC, it would be $760 for him. So we’d be at $2,860 for all of them. 😐

We're at about $2200 a month, but that's with Colin in before/after school only. Summer is going to be painful...

X doesn’t seem to be doing any better despite the ABX so I think I need to call and see about doing Rocephin injections.
P’s chest seems all rattled and I’m suspecting bronchitis, maybe? EI, then Croup, then flu, so it’s not out of the question at all.
And I’m going to have to do Teledoc or something because I’m feeling like I’ve got pneumonia again or maybe it never cleared up entirely.
I was sure 2019 couldn’t be any worse than 2018 but we are off to a really rough start over here.

Re: Child Care costs - This is where living in a LCOL area is beneficial! I used to only pay $75/week for full time day care for S and it included breakfast, lunch, and snack! Now that she is in the public school it is free, but I pay breakfast and lunch bill which is less than $20/week. cagoldi you need a bubble...for each one of you. And a magic wand to make you all better!

Also hi. Working from home because of the weather. DH doesn't want me out and about in slippery conditions (I can't blame him) and Colin's home from school, so it's for the best. Chase was NOT happy this morning to be the only one leaving, but I can't work and play referee all day. Colin is pretty independent and easy to have home, as long as he's solo.
My bonus payout is next week and my manager told me yesterday that the pool was only funded at 85%, compared to 110% last year, so I wasn't expecting good news. But I found out this morning that it's actually about 20% higher than last year, woohoo! Honestly my raise is a whopping 2.25% and my stock grant last fall was awful, so I guess I was due some good news. The extra alone will cover what we owe in taxes for 2018, so it definitely IS good news.

Sorry cagoldi. It's been an awful year for illness. I'm finally crawling out from the depths of the flu. It hit me Saturday and I've felt like death since then. On the plus side I lost 9 lbs. We've been snowed in the past couple of days. More snow on Friday than is projected for our annual snowfall and it kept coming through yesterday afternoon. We got about a foot. Everything's been closed down. One more day for us all to cuddle at home. Ralph Breaks the Internet comes out o on digital release so we'll watch that today.

When H went to daycare it was like $140/week at an in home. The centers around here are like $180/week per kid. So if both of mine were in full time care at a center it would come out to around $1440/month. Daycare is so expensive, I wish the US would get with the program and subsidize childcare.

I’m sorry. cagoldi It’s the never-ending sick season. So rough for everyone. For both kids we pay a little under 1400 a month and that’s with M in private school and after school care. Maybe I’m ok with staying Deep South until both the kids are a little older. LOL. Over $2k/month for daycare is like woah.

Morning! Weather isn’t terrible today. Lots of slush from the snowfall yesterday but the roads aren’t really too slippery. At least it’s sunny. I have the spring fever. H is at school and S is watching Ralph Breaks The Internet ( inthekitty). I need to figure out supper for tonight, something easy because I have to go to work. Maybe tacos, but I think we need more tortillas, I need to actually look.

With B in kinder for 3 hours a day then daycare and J full time, we pay $1855 per month. It will go down quite a bit in September with B going to Grade 1 and again in November when J is 3 and moves rooms. Cannot wait.

It's a major issue that is really crippling parents. We have all these programs and saving vehicles for college and have 18 years to prepare for, yet nothing for assistance for childcare when they are born and immediately need care. Universal prek would be a great first step. It makes me batty.

lfig your H cracks me up. You both do have a very full plate and you handle it all with a lot of grace. What did you decide about the lotion swiping incident? It’s the weirdest thing to take. One time we had this huge Pimp and Ho party at my house, and someone stole all my skincare products. Gross and strange. Who wants partially used facial cleanser and moisturizers? Bizarre.

Sorry you’ve been so sick inthekitty. cagoldi hope you and your household are all feeling better soon. We’ve been fairly lucky this season other than a cold we all had (knock on wood!) but everything that’s going around makes me want to bathe in Purell for the next month or so.

I forgot to tell you guys that Poppy slipped in the tub on Saturday. I sit in the bath with her, but I didn’t catch her in time when she tried to stand up and on the way down her cheek hit That little lever that controls the drain (does that thing have a name)?
She got a decent sized little gash and I’m really hoping it doesn’t scar. She looks like she’s gone eight rounds in a boxing match.

We are getting out at 1. Only those involved in the hearing need to be here, which isn't me! It's hardly snowing yet so I might grab a solo lunch before picking C up. His school didn't officially declare early dismissal but they asked that kids be picked up as soon as parents are able to.

Morning. Many things are closed here today but snow didn’t start till almost 9. I stayed home but put the boys on day care for a few hours Diluted weird flamingo - you mentioned that daddy doll the other day. I did not look it up or anything. I just checked Facebook and I had an ad for it. Crazy I am really wondering what word I meant to type that came out as diluted
