Yes, I tend to agree. Josie was a very composed almost 3-year-old, so she didn’t have the same excitement about going places that Charlie does. I assume it’s because he gets dragged everywhere (school, classes, activities, etc) because of her. This is the first year I have really found Josie enjoying school. Her teacher has a very BIG personality, and Josie mimics that energy (and sometimes even hits the teacher’s inflection and intonation perfectly.) I wish we were here from the get go. Charlie will be the lucky one!

Anyone remember how often I can give both ibuprofen and tylenol at the same time? Every six hours.

He coughed all night long. My MIL is watching him today and he was still asleep when I left. My coworker told me about her 2yo grandson who had the flu over the weekend. They ended up at the children's hospital because they couldn't get his fever under control and couldn't stop coughing. They kept him for the day to give him fluids, bring his temp down and do some breathing treatments. So I got paranoid and asked my MIL to check on him just now since he was still sleeping. It's 103.7. Now I'm wondering if I need to take him to the ER. Ugh. I’m sorry. Maybe your MIL can take him in later in the day and you can meet them there.

NP, hope it helps bring his fever down. Is he eating and drinking okay? He barely ate anything yesterday but he'd take some sips of water and juice. Today my MIL said he drank some water when he woke up but won't eat anything yet.

The worst that can happen is you spend a few hours there, they tell you he's fine, tell you to follow up with your pedi, and you're on with your day. But you will set your mind at ease by having answers. And your stupid co-pay, but it's worth it to put you at ease.

On the way to school today C asked where Daddy was. DH has been working late all week and won't see him until tomorrow evening. I told C he was working and DH would pick him up tomorrow and he started tearing up saying he misses him. It was really sad. I need DH to get a job closer to home but he's not even looking.

Hi all! My 1st grader got a spot in his school's new STEAM club (STEM + art) and today was his first day. Drop off is at 7:45 so we had to actually wake him up his morning. Then dropped Theo at preschool, cookies off for Evie's teacher appreciation week and I need to head out to pick up an application for nature pre-school. It's cold and rainy though...not my favorite kind of nature. Every year I tell myself to book a warm vacay in February and every year I don't and regret it. Next year, for sure.

Congratulations, ladystrat! Any more house hunting on the agenda today, kim22? I’m sorry H is still feeling so awful, tgrimes. I look online constantly but it’s a bit over an hours drive there and Wednesday is the day T doesn’t go to school. We haven’t told the kids anything about this yet. I wish I knew what was going on with the house we put the offer on, I have already made a life there so they are going to need to sell it to me. We did get the paperwork from FEMA last night and they declared it was undamaged it from Hurricane Sandy (the town is on the barrier island where all that horrible footage of the ocean meeting the bay was all over the news.) Our lawyer is doing some more research because the owner at the time did walk away and the property was sold at auction to the current owners.

Every year I tell myself to book a warm vacay in February and every year I don't and regret it. Next year, for sure. This. Last year January was so brutal here (relatively speaking) and I swore we were going to the beach this year in Feb/March. But life happened--SIL having a baby so we're headed down there in April, family reunion in FL in May--so we are staying put in Feb/March. Thankfully winter hasn't been too bad here, yet. Next year I guess our warm-weather vacation will be house-hunting, lol.

Anyone remember how often I can give both ibuprofen and tylenol at the same time? Yes. My doctor has said to do that before. Eta: clearly misread the post. Looks like it got answered though. If you think he’s that bad I’d take him to the ER. Can’t hurt, might help.

High of 80 today, with the humidity at 90%. Hey Austin, IT'S FEBRUARY, NOT JUNE!!! Rub it in why don’t you. It’s snowing with a wind chill of -11 right now.

tgrimes, I hope the fever is down now. I agree with everyone else, I'd call the pedi and ask about the ER. But ultimately, if you are worried and think they might help, I'd just take him in. To mwhip's point, better to take him in and not need to. Congratulations ladystrat!

I am trying to decide what to do... MH leaves Monday for 7.5 weeks. We were planning on going out at some point this weekend but hadn't booked a sitter yet. DC is doing a "date night" from 5-11. They do them periodically but we've never been able to take advantage of it. Only problem is they said some of the kids don't really sleep. I worry that B, especially, won't sleep if his little friends are running around. Should I do the Parents' night out thing, or should I just get a sitter at home? I know, these are super serious problems I have here

I know, these are super serious problems I have here I’d just do the PNO because I’m lazy and wouldn’t have to deal with finding a sitter. But, I’m also ok with my kids staying up late sometimes.

jewels if possible, I’d arrange a sitter. Do not want to deal with overtired kids and the emotions surrounding your h leaving.
