Reporting in on Lovett or Leave It. It was really fun. The panel of guests was great. And Kirsten Gillibrand was his special guest. I was impressed. I'm not making up my mind about 2020 today, but for me she's in the running. I reeeaaally like her. I know people like to criticize her political evolution as insincere, but she’s from my neck of the woods in upstate NY and it makes a lot of sense in the context of the region. She has stuck out her neck and paid a political price to fight for the rights of sexual assault victims multiple times. Kamala is still my #1, but Kirsten is way up there. |

Presidential motorcade just went by my office. Wonder what he’s got on the agenda today. ETA: I remember when I first came to DC and I thought seeing a motorcade was like the coolest thing ever. I’ve been here so long now they’re just a pain in the ass 😂 Quoting myself after I checked the public agenda. It's the National Prayer Breakfast. |

South Carolina has introduced legislation that would ban all abortions and criminalize them. It's now going to the state Senate Judiciary Committee.
I am so fucking sick of the abortion debate. Those on the anti choice side have no idea what they are talking about, the left hasn't been good at making talking points about it, and all the attention on abortion lately has just gotten the right riled up before the 2020 election. I don't even know how we go forward with a discussion about it at this point. It's a sticking point for so many conservatives even though they can't see that their approach actually increases the demand for abortion. Also, they were silent about kids in cages so fuck them.

HHS did not separate children from parents No one in hhs knows who the children who were separated and then discharged from ORR
and then we have no jurisdiction.
were you involved in planning zero tolerance hhs is not enforcement.
Was anyone involved in planning We participated in discussion in policy scenarios that talked about it.
HHS/ORR became aware of policy implementation from AG on television

Ok I might move to not hating mr. white.
Hes testifying about the children rec'd from northern triangle have suffered a lot of trauma and they need mental health and phyical care.
He would never recommend the policy in place.
There was some conflicting testimony from him but it could be because Im not catching everything

White is drawing a distinction between the border station and ORR shelters
Border stations are not under ORR and are detention centers ORR shelters follow state licensing and many don't have locking doors because it isn't legal

Yes I think this is what he meant. And this is where the 'losing' happened, bc when these kids went from 'DHS detainee' to 'ORR custody' DHS didn't do anything to keep track of them |
