I read a lot of, "This could have gone differently if..." re: Gov. Northam on Twitter over the weekend.And can't but wonder if the "if..." is what Herring did today.

Where I am right now is that it is both: fix the systemic problems AND have consequences for people who have racist pasts or commited sexual assault or any or bad stuff.

Northam and Herring can repent as private citizens. They don’t need to hold office anymore. There are qualified people for those jobs that don’t have this history and our system has not been set up to elevate those people but we need to demand it from now on.

I just got home from the hearing.
Can I please brag on my baby girl for one sec?
I woke her up at 630, dragged her across town, made her wait in line for 90 minutes, then sit in a room snd be quiet, then dragged her around to a bunch of offices and she was basically perfectly behaved and was sweet and charming when anyone talked to her.
I'm so proud and so glad I can take my kids along on my activism, NC otherwise, I couldn't do it

Ugh he is the worst (and that is saying something right now). His district is very close to where I live and he has spearheaded a movement to bring a confederate statue to a local museum. The said statue has nothing to do with our area at all. Thankfully, there has been a lot of push back.

Hi! Oh my gosh it’s been crazy at work. Trying to catch up from being out so long is insane, especially when you are staring down the barrel of another shutdown. Everyone’s pay is jacked up but they say we will be made whole on the 2/8 check—we shall see.

My team is relatively good—we are super close. But it’s still hard—it’s hard getting 100% out of people that are just waiting for the other shoe to drop. The backpay bill that was signed guarantees backpay for all future shutdowns, so that is some relief to people. But our contractor team members aren’t covered by that, and that sucks super hard.

Thanks for checking on me. I certainly haven’t been around as much—but having less time to pay attention to Trump/Republican shenanigans hasn’t been all bad! :-)
