peachesncream My MIL was in the room for DS1 because my husband was deployed and my mom and I were on the outs. It was just DH and I for Ds2 and it'll be the same for baby. We're finding out the sex in 4 hours. Not that I'm obsessing. I'm considering throwing together a "big brother" shirt for DS2 but it wouldn't match either of the ones I have for DS1 That's awesome that she was there for you and I am glad you have such a good relationship with her!! Thank you for your family's service and I'm sorry your husband couldn't be there with you. And keep us posted on the sex!!!

I made the soup that I ate all of last night but I didn't have mushroom broth so I used low sodium veggie broth and it is not the same! Tragic craving fail. Turns out I want mushroom broth with spaetzle & parmesan.

I'm glad you got your answer <3 I know the three of the same sex thing is hard for some people to get used to but I love it!! They are best friends, everything gets handed down, they can share rooms forever... I love it. Wouldn't have it any other way. I hope you end up loving it, too!

I had a dream last night that we found out the baby is a boy... not sure but I’m so excited for our anatomy scan coming up!
Is anyone trying to keep up workouts? I am trying to get back on track because I quit working out as soon as I found out I was pregnant (why did I do that?!) I’m just not sure if I should switch to prenatal workouts or what. My body feels older and rougher this time around 😂

I have been trying robinanne but haven’t been very consistent. I have this pregnancy workout downloaded on my phone. I’m really trying to get into it more now than I’m in second tri and have a bit more energy. And my gosh I can relate to feeling older this pregnancy.

I am trying and failing, robinanne. I have been on a once a week schedule since I vomited in the middle of a workout around week 6 or 7 and scared myself off. I really am feeling better so my goal starting this week is 2-3 times a week at least.

We have the best neighbors ever. During the polar vortex one set of our neighbors was out of town and asked us to stop by to make sure they didn't have any frozen pipes. As a thank you they made us beef stew, gave us an expensive bottle of wine, and brought a book for our girls back from their vacation.
DH works weekends and we got 4 inches or so of snow today. Obviously I can't shovel while I'm alone with my girls (the two big ones can come out and play while I shovel but the 1 year old not so much) so we usually just shovel when DH gets off. Our other neighbors snowblowed (snowblew?? Lol) our driveway and when I texted them to say thanks they said to spend the time playing outside and relaxing instead. This is NOT the first time they have done this. Seriously the best.

It snowed AGAIN and I shoveled it this time. Oh lord my back hurts. I'm skipping the gym and counting that as my workout 😂 anyone else snowed in today?

+1 to more snow. We had 2 ice days last week and another today. I'm glad I'm a teacher so at least I'm off on snow days too to take care of DD. I am NOT touching our snow though. Luckily my dad and SO do all the shovelling around here!
They cancelled my OB appointment today and rescheduled for near the end of next week. I'm glad we at least were able to get the AS done yesterday!

sammysam oh that's convenient! We just had a 2 hr delay here but DD2 woke up saying her ear hurt so I still woke up and schlepped everyone to the pediatrician. I swear my kids have some sort of weather beacon that makes them only get sick on days we have blizzards 😂

no snow, just loads of rain. Second day in a row that the schools were delayed (for really no good reason) Gearing up for snow this weekend though!

It's been sleeting and raining all day. So gross. No school cancellations for us thankfully. DS and I went on a much needed grocery run and then I cleaned the fridge before putting it all away. I think I'm literally having an aversion to the grocery store. It makes me nauseous to go there or even think about the trip. And I've been queasy all day because of it. PREGNANCY IS SO FUN!

It's nice here. 50s. The kids played outside.
I'm not sleeping. DS 2 has been waking 3-4 times a night and then DS1 is up at 7 and I'm exhausted.

Lots of snow. DH shoveled before bed last night and still had to shovel for 45 minutes this morning. robinanne I do try. I have some prenatal yoga & workouts saved on YouTube that are my go tos. Pre-illness I was also trying to at least walk on the treadmill regularly. I like the one series on YouTube because it’s 10 minute yoga videos and it’s hard to say “I don’t have time” when they’re so short. Not like I’m getting a huge workout from them but still stretching and utilizing muscles. So. Tired. Between this cold, my inability to stay asleep and the approaching 2nd tri BP drop... I’m just done. 😴

I feel like crap today, but I am dragging my ass to the gym. I haven't been this week, so my goal of 3-4 times a week is kind of toast if I don't 😂

@kore I didn't know that 2nd tri BP drop was a thing!! Explains why I've been dizzy every time I stand up for the last few weeks.

peachesncreamYeah I have naturally low BP so mine was crazy low last time. I’ve been on high alert this time to prevent the more dangerous side effects: temporary vision loss, dizziness & fainting. I even checked it when I was at Walmart to make sure that it was good, lol. As per instructions last pregnancy, I can’t shower alone in the house if I think my BP is low... and having a toddler still counts as alone since she can’t exactly help! It’s the expanding blood vessels for increased blood flow that causes it. ETA: Pretty obvious but for getting up, you have to do it super slowly if your BP is low. Hot showers can decrease BP so aren’t recommended. I’m sure your doctor is monitoring your BP but definitely talk to him/her about it because it’s hard to focus on keeping your BP up while parenting!!

I didn’t know that either @kore. Really interesting. I had some bp issues really early in this pregnancy.. lots of dizziness especially. I’ll have to be on guard for that again.

I’ve been feeling really down this morning because today is the start of my son’s 5 day stretch with his dad. I miss him like crazy when he’s gone. It’s really hard.
But, I did just call my insurance and they are covering my NIPT. I think I will have the blood draw for that this Friday at my appointment, so if all goes accordingly, I should have results in next couple of weeks. Obviously I want to make sure all looks well with baby genetically but also super excited to find out sex.

beenthere Well I’ve never actually fainted so I consider that a plus. Last time the NP said “go home and eat that bag of tortilla chips.” 😛 Salt and electrolyte drinks are my BFFs now. I’m trying to branch out to healthier options but I love tortilla/corn chips and Powerade. My aunt is a Type 1 diabetic and I basically follow her philosophy of having your bag & house prepped with the right snacks and drinks for when you feel the drop, in her case blood sugar, in mine BP. ETA: I feel like I should clarify that the temporary vision loss is like when you stand up too fast. Last time I took a hot shower at my parents and end up yelling for DH to come help me sit on their toilet in a towel because I was so dizzy and had that blackout vision for like 5 minutes. As far as I know, it’s not longer than that.
