Just the usual here. Gotta get DD up soon and off to school. It's going to be beautiful for the next couple of days so I hope to get plenty of time outside with DS. I'm so ready for spring.

I feel like I'm the only one who doesn't know the sex of their baby yet lol. How do you all find out so early? I've always had to wait until the 20 week anatomy scan. I don't care what it is at all...I just like having all the information possible!

elodin, I don't know yet, either! My a/s is scheduled for March 1st, I'll be 21 weeks. It seems so far away!

elodin I am never covered by insurance for the NIPT, so if we find out we have to do the Sneak Peek or wait until the U/S. I did the Sneak Peek for one of my pregnancies but wasn't sure if it was legit or not so I didn't truly believe it until the A/S! We have never paid for an elective ultrasound. We are going team green again this time though so we've got another 6 months or so of not knowing haha!

Good morning!
I also don’t yet know the sex. I think insurance will cover the Counsel test (genetic screening that can also tell the sex) so I’m hoping we will have the blood draw for that done at my appointment on 2/15.
Weather is beautiful here until Thursday so I’m going to try to get some lunchtime walks in.

I made Mac & cheese at 9:40AM because I was hungry and it was what I wanted. DD is eating leftover storebought macaroni salad because I made mine too spicy. Oops. Mac & Cheese was my obsession last pregnancy and it looks like it's in the running this time as well. Burgers are also on my cravings list.

elodin still don't know here, but since I'm over 35 I head in for the NIPT. Have you looked into elective ultrasounds? I got one at 12 weeks with my last pregnancy (the lab screwed up NIPT and didn't send us the sex results) They also gave us a discount on getting one of those 3D ultrasounds for a second view closer to the end of the pregnancy too.

I am struggling with this weather. My kids are so much easier to manage when I can just set them loose in the yard and let them play outside. I am craving some decent weather so they can blow off some steam! I feel like there has been way too much screen time in our lives lately :-(

peachesncream: I feel you. DD (almost 2) often sobs when we go in the car instead of the stroller. "walk! walk! walk!" I've been debating trying to put her in the backyard but I feel like I would also have to get dressed up in case she trapped and I had to go in the several feet of snow after her.

I had an ultrasound at 13 weeks for the first part of the sequential screen, but it's too early to tell at that point. It's fine really! I'm just impatient lol.

So much for my sunny and warm lunchtime walk. Cloudy and in the 40s, feels like 30s. ☹️ It is so hard for me to get motivated to be active when it’s cold. Come on spring!

That is so much nicer than it is here I would have been out there in a heartbeat!! 😂 whatever, let's just all move to Florida. And sorry you missed your walk.

Haha I know peachesncream! My SO and I have very different definitions of cold since he grew up in Maryland and I in the south/central part of TX. Anything under about 50 feels cold to me. I realize I don’t have much room to complain compared to the weather most people are getting right now! My TX blood is just thin.

Here's a question for everyone. For those of you who have at least one kid already, what are you adding to your list of things to get.
What did you wish you had for your last baby? Any new products you've seen that you want to get or splurge on?
This will be our third (and last) baby, we have two boys already and going under the assumption that this too will be a boy I plan to splurge on a new tandem stroller. I'm looking at the contours curve so that I can have a great stroller where the two kids can look at each other. I've gone through so many and I think this would be a great one. We love our BOB but I don't want a side by side stroller. (and then on the off chance that this little one is a girl, I am totally going to find some really cute girly outfits).

eleanorshellstrop I wouldn't call them necessary but for DD3 we splurged for a DockATot and an auto rocking RNP (they didn't have those when DD1 was a baby!!). DD3 actually ended up being a kind of unicorn sleeper, so they didn't get the most use, but I'm glad we kept them around. The DockATot was nice for baby naps on the main level so I could keep an eye on DD1 and 2 at the same time. I never replaced nipples for bottles but after 3 babies now I can tell they are a little worn down so we will be replacing those. I also bought a Haakaa to try and was able to store a lot more breastmilk with it, a blessing for me since I tend to have low supply! We went for the side by side stroller just because I got a hell of a deal on it ($350 for a City Mini GT!!), originally I was just going to babywear and use the single.

eleanorshellstrop I feel like in a lot of ways I’m starting over from DS since he’ll be almost 5 when this baby is born, and I got a divorce and moved and things got lost in the shuffle. On the list to get for sure is a cosleeper crib (ikea has one I’m eyeing) and a Lillebaby carrier. I will have to start over with things like bottles too. We are fortunately getting quite a bit of stuff from my brother and SIL and other relatives. We are also being gifted a nice swing from my moms coworker which I’m so excited about.

This is probably not our last baby but I'm still getting the joovy big caboose. I'm gonna start using it right away and sell our current stroller

Second sound machine. I got a second boppy for #2 bc I was always sending hub up/down stairs to get it. I replaced bottle nipples bc they were worn. I also splurged on a nice woven wrap since we had mostly everything else we needed already.

I added some things to our Amazon wish list for this baby. A Freshly Picked back pack diaper bag, Dockatot, Arms reach co-sleeper, Auto rock n play. We definitely won't get it all lol. I'd be happy with the rock n play and the diaper bag. I'm getting all new nursing bras too. I also realized we are going to have to buy a lot of clothes because my other two were Fall and Winter babies. Of course lol.

I’m not planning on getting much. Clothes and nursery decor if it’s a girl. I hate our graco high chair but I don’t want to spend the money for another one so I will probably just deal with it. We have a cheap $25 umbrella stroller... I droll over the maclarens. But again they are expensive. I would def get one 2nd hand if I could find one. I need a new activity mat, ours was on the fritz with O.

My SIL is due to have a baby any day and posted asking to hold off on visiting until baby's siblings have visited. It got me thinking that I really hope this baby is a late evening or middle of the night baby (haven't had one of those yet!) so we can have some time alone without visitors. If not I may ask for people to wait a few hours before coming. My last three kids I have felt like our families were practically busting down the doors to get there immediately after baby was born.

I think we're just getting a Halo bassinet to help during CS recovery and a new car seat. I'm considering going straight for the convertible this time but not sure. We still have all our clothes/toys/stuff from DD so the only other thing I might get is a new diaper bag. I splurged on a Thule running chariot this past summer so I'm glad I'll get even more use out of that in the future:) Bit we really don't need anything and I can't think of anything I really wished I had had when DD was a baby. elodin Due to my age (I'm 40 in a few weeks) the NIPT is covered so we only found out early because we did the NIPT. With DD we found out at the AS.

peachesncream With DD we didn't even tell anyone when I went into labour. I was in hospital for a week after delivery so I texted one friend and she came to visit. But the only other person who came was my mom. I'm not big on visitors at the best of times so with DD being our first I was happy to be a leaky mess in private:)

sammysam I always get stuck by childcare. My parents live out of state, but my mom has been here for each of my kids' births and is usually our babysitter. She more than likely won't be around this time. DH's parents live local to us but are extremely pushy 😬 I think I may ask a neighbor to watch our kids this time and try not to tell anyone when I am in labor. DH will not be happy, but he (and his parents) can just deal. 2 of my 3 were inductions, I feel like that makes secret keeping harder 😂 the 15 and 22 hour labors didn't help either.

Since there is more than six years between kids, I need basically everything again. I knew I wasn't having more kids with XH, so a lot was given away or donated. peachesncream, I had DS on a Saturday morning and didn't allow any visitors until Sunday. Even then, it was too much for me. With this baby, SO and I have already talked about limiting visitors and probably not telling his family until after the baby is already here. He has a large family and they tend to flock when anything is going on and I absolutely do not want to deal with that while in labor or immediately after giving birth.
