Also, is that an Italian thing that we show up when you die ready to take all your tchotchkes? Or is that just the average petty family? Average petty. FIL's parents did the thing where they put post its on stuff and his siblings just tossed the post it. We all know Susan has my younger BIL's silver set because each grandkid got a different pattern. Hands down my favorite thing about Susan is she stole all the good silver pieces and gifts them to me so the silver pin everyone wondered about I got as a birth gift and the hair brush came to me as a wedding gift. |

angelashly, I'm glad they assigned resources as well - had the crime been real, it deserved to be investigated to the max. And, if it's a hoax, also deserves to be investigated to the max. But I can well imagine how angry/confused real victims of real crimes that don't have a dozen people spending 24 hours a day looking into those crimes are. I just think they're directing their anger in the wrong direction at this point. I agree and get it and that is why this is horrible. He took resources away from real victims and made it that much harder for hate crime victims to be listened to |

I don’t know if it’s an Irish thing but my family doesn’t do the dead to me thing and instead holds lifetime grudges while being nice to the persons face and telling everyone else how they slighted you thirty years ago.
My mom is still mad at her sisters for taking stuff when their mom died, although my mom was there and could have spoken up. Instead it’s “she has the nerve to think I wouldn’t want it!” Sometimes these petty Betty things come out with drinking but usually they just bubble under the surface for a lifetime.
My MIL is part Italian and does the dead to me thing like no other. It’s impressive really.

I can’t pretend I’m innocent in the game. When my grandfather died my mom and I were the only two who showed up to help my grandmother clean out her mansion. She offered us our pick of a lot of antiques etc. I was only 20 so I didn’t have want for a lot of it but I took this huge painting I’d always liked. I hung it up in my college apartment and some party pics posted to FB showed it. My cousins, aunts, uncles, everyone collectively lost their minds in the comments section - why do you have that, who gave you that, I claimed that years before you were born, you’re too young to care for something that means so much to this family! Grandmother made a FB account just to shame them all publicly I was the only grandchild to show up and help, I was given it in thanks and they can all think on that. I deleted FB many years ago now due to more family drama of the sort, but a lot of my cousins follow my IG and I enjoy whenever the painting is shown in a photo of our home. I know it just eats them and they show their parents for sure. When my grandma was dying, my sister would read to her every day. She was a little girl but it was just really sweet. So my aunt told her she could have my grandma's wedding ring when she was "older." Well, my sister is 29 and no ring... My aunt got to keep it in the first place because she bought the main diamond when my grandma wanted an upgrade. This reminds me I THINK my aunt was holding on to a ring for me from my great grandma but I’m not 100% sure because I was probably like 5. |

My family is all Scandinavian (with a bit of Irish) and we are all stupidly forgiving and loyal AF. It isn’t until something truly awful is done and then you are dead to us. Which did happen with part of my late Hs family. The drama surrounding after his death resulted in my mom telling several of his family members to stay away from me and my son by alluding to her connections (she is highly politically and law enforcement connected). Lol. She was ultimate mama bear in that time.
But mostly we are Minnesota Scandinavian passive aggressive and just gripe about family irritants and move on.

I’d be fine with that. It makes sense to have a separate Kardashian thread IMO but I’m sure that’s unpopular. 😬 |

January 30, 2019 As I have said for at least two years, this reality star/celebrity is setting the market for a virginity video when her daughter turns 18. She is counting on it for her own retirement and doesn't care if her daughter walks away with any of it. Farrah Abraham omg, how terrible. I feel awful for that child. I feel like MTV messed up some young women’s lives permanently with Teen Mom. Obviously they had other issues but the sudden money/fame/attention at that stage of life...I don’t know man. |

My H's grandmother has iced out my BIL (H's sister's husband) because she thinks he took a shitty old level when they were HELPING her clean and get rid of a bunch of stuff even though (1) he denies it and (2) it's a shitty old level that she wanted to get rid of anyways. One of these bad boys, only ancient  This is great. |

Look, to be fair about the Jussie thing, there were some odd things from the jump. The first thing I asked when it happened was if it was targeted because it seemed strange that these random people knew who he was on the street in the MOTN. I’ve been following some threads about the case in other places and there were some skepticism about it and the skepticism made sense..I think we walk a thin line with these things because I don’t ever want to doubt a victim. I also don’t think someone is automatically an asshole for saying, “that seems strange”. I think at this point it seems clear that this was a hoax. And it’s shitty. Because people are going to say that all MAGA-hate crimes or victims of any crime they want to wash away are hoaxes. In a lot of ways, I don’t even feel that’s it’s my venue to be upset about the Jussie situation. But, it’s a bad look and I’m upset about it. And I don’t think the cops or all the people who initially doubted the story are the assholes here.
