Do your kids brush their own hair?

wedding M lost his hat a few weeks ago. We couldn’t find it where he said he left it. I mentioned it to his after school teachers and she said she would keep an eye out for it. We got it back yesterday. She said some kid took it home and, thankfully, the mom bought it back. We had other hats, but this one is navy specifically for school cuz uniform.

What does C say about it? Did he say where he left it? Does he have a backpack at school he can put them in after use so it doesn’tgo missing?

We're working on it. She complains when I do it, so then I hand her the brush to do it. She doesn't get all the tangles out though.

Sunny41, Josie doesn’t. She just became interested in trying to braid my hair (or put it up in a ponytail) so maybe she’ll be interested in doing her own soon.

MH took E to swim lessons tonight and apparently another boy was calling him a girl in the locker room. The boys dad told him it wasn't nice to say. MH hates these types of confrontations or incidents and isn't really fond of the long hair so it really got to him. Meanwhile E didn't think anything of it. E and I had a talk though and we discussed saying "how long a person's hair is does not make them a boy or girl"

Wow! With those girls I would have thought it would be difficult. Maybe it is and she is just good at brushing

peachsmama Our lab is that color too! maybe a hair lighter. It's always neat to see another one b/c it's unusual here.

Fun fact: The color is "Fox Red", apparently that was the original color way back in England and over time and when the breed came to this country it started lightening up, they bred the lighter ones, and we have the yellow that is common today.

Evie tries, but her hair is too long. I'll let her do it as long as she wants, but she knows I am going to go through it too to make sure nothing was missed.

peachsmama and flamingo I had a fox red lab with my ex husband. He was beautiful, people always stopped me and asked what breed he was.

This was also the lab that was too smart for his own good and could open my refrigerator.

Ha! Yes, our girl gets lots of compliments, too; she uses her intelligence selectively. Thankfully she has not figured out the fridge!

It's funny--ironic?--that somehow she has become my dog; my H is the one that wanted one so badly, spent a small fortune on her, and had dreams of hunting and fishing and boating with her. And then we sold the boat, he was gone all the time while she was young, and I basically raised her. She's a bit of a diva and totally takes on parts of my personality. I guess b/c I'm home with her and dance attendance on her every need, she has chosen me as her favorite and she is never far from my heels. LOL.

B brushes his own hair, I usually have to go back and touch it up but he gets the idea.

I am watching Tiny HouseHunters and this young couple is looking at buying a yurt. This woman is showing them her yurt and they both just flopped on her bed as she's standing right there. So bizarre. Meanwhile, they seem shocked that the bathroom, kitchen, etc. are all outside in separate structures and are not climate-controlled. What did they think a yurt was? No thank you to yurt-life.

eta: yurt-couple is now looking at a boat and the girl is like, "I can feel it rocking. I did not expect that." Indeed.

We follow the curly girl method now. So she knows her hair has to be wet to do it. She’ll spray it down in the morning and comb it out. I still have to fix it, put in the gel/curl cream, etc.

It was great! We got the roasted turkey breast, which had a sweet glaze on it. I made mine into a sandwich but the girls and dh just ate it with a fork. I also got their Tuscan-style broccoli and it was so freakin good. Anytime from now on that I make roasted broccoli I’m going to copy it: olive oil, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, shredded parm cheese, and garlic.

Eta: also big fat nope to yurts.

There is a whole show about building or buying yurts. People are weird. Apparently a double wide is trashy but a mini trailer is trendy

Ooh, that broccoli sounds good. I usually just do olive oil and either garlic or grated parmesan, now I'm going to try it all!

No clue what C sets the thermostat to. However we rarely turn the heater on. When we have a baby in the house we will turn it on so they don’t get cold. LO and C love the cold tho.

I’m scared for tax season this year.

So I haven’t told my management team that I’m applying for another position with the company. My direct leader was put out on leave for stress. I’m still going to do it but I need to phrase how I tell them very carefully.

He said he put the stuff back. I am wondering if someone took it home. They have a lost and found but the stuff hasn’t been in their.

L recently got super into brushing my hair (and "braiding" it/putting it in a ponytail). She requested one of those Barbie heads that you can style their hair for her birthday!
