I gave myself a work break the last two days and my nausea was all but gone. Started everything back up this morning and it’s back at a 10. So. Huh. I guess I need to bust through this stuff quickly so that I can just start coasting.
H and I stayed up late planning one last plane trip in early April. We’re down to a few hotels in two separate locations so I’m hoping to crunch numbers this afternoon so we can book it tonight. Much excite!

South Beach or Key West. Texas was on the top of our list, but the flights were getting a bit too long. If we leave from our local airport Florida is two short flights away with a connecting walk that I feel more comfortable with since my veins suck and I’ll be 31-32 weeks by then. There are so many places we want to go, but then we look up the flight, look over at M, and then default back to Florida. She does great on planes so far and we really don’t want to push our luck. Andplusalso lol at me visiting you when I’m not able to properly drink

B woke up with a fever so he’s home from school again. J’s right eye is slightly red but it isn’t crusty like B’s were. Is that still considered pink eye? I’ve been giving him drops also. Otherwise we are staying in because it’s super cold out.
My kids need to get healthy so we can resume our regularly scheduled programming. I love them to death but dear god they are driving me insane.

My mom kept C overnight so he didn't have to go outside this morning. She's already panicking about when I pick him up. I mean I KNOW this weather is dangerous but we're not outside for more than a minute and I'll make sure the car is warm and he's covered up. I'll probably just stay home with him tomorrow though because why not take advantage of this weather while I can.

Please find the most ridiculously warm sleeping bag to wrap him in to carry him from the house to the car. I'm sarcastic as hell though.

waitwhat sorry the kids are still sick. Get better! O is back at school. No fever last night so I sent him. sophiegrace having been to both locations I am offering my unsolicited opinion: I would chose key west. Miami is not super kid friendly IMO plus it is way more expensive! Cons about key west is there is no true beach, it’s all rocks.

Miami is not super kid friendly IMO plus it is way more expensive! Cons about key west is there is no true beach, it’s all rocks. We’re definitely swaying towards key west, but the flights are double the price which is the only reason I’m pausing. H went to school in Miami so I think he just wants to go back to see what’s up. I’m mehhh about it. The list of family activities in South Beach is hilarious and sad. I’d like to just say no way, but I’m letting H come to that conclusion himself. My current key west debate is The Reach versus a little bungalow. The reach has a beach (it’s at southernmost point, I’m assuming it’s too rocky to go the the water though) and a pool with cabanas that have kids packages. The bungalow will be a bit of a walk everywhere and no pool, but $200+ cheaper per night. So idk. Save the money since the flight is so much more or just say F it because we’re already spending so much and don’t need to rent a car. tippy top of FWP, I know

sophiegrace if a hotel says they have a beach in key west it’s most likely a man made beach. I think it would be good to have a pool though. Fun family friendly stuff on key west that I have done - butterfly garden, Hemingway house (6 toe cats!), aquarium, pirate museum

I want a vacation. I was looking at Disney cruises but they're so expensive. In plus, I'd like a vacation sans kids.

I'd also love a vacation sans kids. I haven't been on an airplane since April 2013.

Fun family friendly stuff on key west that I have done - butterfly garden, Hemingway house (6 toe cats!), aquarium, pirate museum I was there about four years ago and all of that was on our list, but H had already BTDT a bunch of times so whenever we’d come across a line we’d just say nahhhhh let’s go day drink. The butterfly garden is the only thing we actually ended up seeing. So, it’s all on my list. Again.

H never ever wanted to go on vacation. Then we had M and he and I stopped seeing each other all day every day and he realized how little time he had with M each day. Physically getting out of our house is the only way for him to not be working so that’s what we do. Its not lost on me how fortunate we are to even have that option, I know there’s plenty of people who are in the same situation and can’t just leave for a long weekend every other month.

I went on one about maybe 10 years ago and if there’s a vacation out there that’s the best of both worlds that might be it. There’s entire sections of the boat and their private island that’s only 18+ and they have crazy kids programs that let you just say see ya to the children for as long as you want. But then there’s all the everything else for when it’s family time. The boat was gorgeous and rooms were huge. The food was ok. Being that it’s Disney though I can’t imagine what the cost is.

One of my tech guys from Nutcracker keeps telling me to go. They've been on 4 with their girls and they already booked another one. My MIL asked me if they could take M on one. FTR, I have no issue with that. But I want to go too so I can see her face and excitement.

You for sure don't need to justify any of your trips to us. If you want to take 15 vacations a year, do it! I totally get the reason why you guys have to actually pack up and go somewhere in order to significant time together as a family. No judgement here. We don't take vacations because MH is cheap AF. Also, the last time we tried to take a kid with us it was basically a natural disaster, so we haven't tried that again since. We do weekends away here and there, which is good enough for us for now. I would like a legit vacation though, preferably without my Heathens in tow.

sophiegrace The cheapest one from Galveston is $3100 for the 4 of us. I could book a regular cruise with royal carribean for $1285 for the 4 of us. ETA: These are all off peak times which is why they're so cheap.
