I boycott RC. Not because I've ever been on one, but because they are one of my accounts at work and they make me want to stab things. Like just seeing their name posted makes my eye twitch.

My ILs did one up to Alaska once, they really enjoyed it and their pictures were so pretty. But I think I would want to go somewhere more tropical.

I've only heard of experiences my friends' have had with both companies. And you know, my in laws that have been on a million cruises. Speaking of which, they will be returning from a cruise this evening. I'm secretly hoping they offer to keep the kids Friday. But I doubt they will.

I’d love a vacation anywhere that isn’t freezing atm! I have a long weekend planned for May to a wedding in CT, so me and my siblings are all leaving our kids at home! Already counting down the days! I’ve never been in a cruise either, but would love to go on one!
As for me, I’m just trying to survive the kids and cold today!

I've never been on a cruise but my friend goes almost every year and loves them. H is worried he'd get seasick. sophiegrace maybe this is a dumb suggestion (don't remember how M is in the car) but have you considered driving the keys? We flew into Ft. Lauderdale and drove all the way to Key West. It's a long drive but beautiful and we made stops on the way. That was without a kid though lol.

I’ve been on a Disney cruise it was awesome! The president of Disney Cruises came to speak at my college. They make a 100% profit margin on their cruises. That’s why it’s so damn expensive. But a great experience and I hope to take O one day.
FFWC: I went on 4 trips last year and we didn’t take O on a single one! I need to get over my fear of taking him on vacations.

I’ve been on two cruises. Both carnival. No issues or complaints. But I have nothing to compare them to either.
This was also pre kids and I was v v v drunk both times.

Carnival is known to be more of the fun/party ship cruise. They're usually a bit cheaper and their ships aren't kept up as well as RC. According to my in laws.

I know nothing about bases. If you're asking me if I like the look of the base, the answer is yes.

I like the thinner pipes for small tables starbuck. I'm not sure about a large dining table though. I'd have to see an example. In general, I do like the look of metal and wood together, though.

This table would be about 40" diameter in the breakfast nook. So about 16" bigger than the top they show. The space may be a little tight with the 5 of us so I'm wary of the legs being too big.

Welp, I’m sick. I mustered through the nausea and escaped the fever, then landed myswlf a nice head cold yesterday. Good times. Also, lots of drama at work. In brief, my coworker (who I support on his cases) is being threatened by the spouse of an employee - to be reported to dept of insurance and she will “ensure he never works in the industry again”. LSS, he got in front of employees on 1/25 announcing he was changing their health plan on 2/1 (and told them they only had 3 days to decide to join or not.) also, he made a lot of mistakes on their plan design. The employee’s spouse is a broker, joined the meeting via conference call and called him out in front of everyone on the mistakes and lack of proper notice to employees = valid points. So besides sickness, that’s been my life the past several days. Thank you sophiegrace for the tag checking in on us ❤️❤️

We’ve done the drive and decided that after a day in airports it wouldn’t be fun for M or I to add the extra travel time. We were hoping to avoid renting a car down there too. Because of our distance to major airports with direct flights it’s annoying to get to the Keys no matter how we do it. I was originally looking at staying at one of the other keys completely forgetting about the damage Irma did. There are complete islands that they never rebuilt. Key Largo is missing half of its hotels. I can’t imagine what that must have actually been like.

Our one doctor got married in KW last year and he said it was like driving through a ghost town at the different keys when they went down for their anniversary this year. It’s like the winds completely skipped over entire islands and flattened others. DNW to live in a place where that’s possible I think.
