Today is my only in-office day this week. We are close to the stadium and with Super Bowl events taking place all week long they are letting everyone work from home as much as they want this week to avoid the traffic. On top of that, due to timing of my proposals due this week, I worked Friday in exchange for this Thursday off, so it's a 3 day week! Gotta enjoy this before it's over lol
Otherwise, one final inspection on the house this morning (the inspector found slight traces of mold in the living room so we have a specialist looking at that) and we submit our requests to the seller this evening. I'm ready for this part to be over.

I took a work from home day to avoid the shitty drive. Currently my city is in a bubble that is not getting snow. It's weird. But I still expect the roads to be a mess this afternoon so I'm not going to feel bad about it.
C is watching Mickey and playing while I'm playing on Amazon trying to figure out which things from C's room can go into the new nursery and which things I'll need to buy again. I've spent way too much time thinking about a $20 changing pad.

Like it can't be that much better. I know they make those super fancy foam ones but I had no issues with my cheapo one. The only thing I remember thinking is maybe I should have gotten the 3 or 4 sided to protect his head (which is why I'm considering buying a new one now).

I’ll be transferring my never been used one from M’s room to the nursery one soon so that it could also not be used there. I always just changed her on the end of the bed or on the floor. I’m weird and broken.

I used it for both of the kids. I just bought a new cover for H's so it would match the colors in his room. It's slightly raised on 3 of the 4 sides, I guess.

I love spending stupid money on ridiculous stuff apparently. But don’t you dare expect me to spend more than $5 on a shirt for myself.

M is so much better this morning. Her cough is disgusting, but she isn’t wheezing and putting as much into breathing so I’ll take it.
But my throat is starting to hurt and I can’t tell if I’m getting sick or if it’s just from my heartburn. I really don’t want to get sick.

Don't even get me started on the rest of the shit on her registry. A bouncer for $200+, a travel crib for $300, an infant car seat for $400, newborn lounger $140, chair/ottoman $500.

I was complaining to N13 about her registry a couple weeks ago. Her friends are not rich. No one will be buying her a $130 changing pad. But what kills me is, I'm sure my MIL will buy her everything off her registry when the baby comes. And my SIL knows she will so that's why she put all that expensive stuff on there. She totally takes advantage of her parents.

That honestly sounds like my registry for M and I don’t think a single thing was actually worth it. She was in the mommaroo for 20 minutes total the entire time we had it out. This time I bought a knock off ikea rocking chair for the nursery. Knock off ikea. Yes, that cheap. Poor second child.

In all fairness though we never shared our registry and never expected anyone to spend the $$$$ on us. Not that it makes buying a $130 changing pad any better...

It’s also different if you know you have rich friends and y’all normally spend that much money on each other. In some places, I know that’s the norm.

I did the opposite and didn't put enough on there and not enough "higher end" stuff on my registry. H still likes to give me shit about it. Like I refused to put the BOB stroller on there because I thought it was too ridiculous. We ended up getting a lot of gift cards because my aunts like to show off and spend money but there was nothing there for them to buy. I'm sure someone would have got the stroller for us. There were other things that I registered for the lower end of even though H wanted to get the more expensive version. I guess it all turned out fine though. The gift cards were definitely useful. I think they lasted us a whole year.

I think they lasted us a whole year. My SIL just doesn't understand that just because something is more expensive, doesn't mean it's always better than a cheaper version. Like, you don't really need that fancy playmat from crate and barrel for $100. It's literally a mat with no toys. You can find one from another retailer for 1/4 of the price. But I got a cheap Cosco carseat for MH's car since M hardly ever rode in it. I freakin hated it. The straps always got stuck and it was a pain in my ass. I finally bought another one for his car to make my life easier and spent around $100.

B has pink eye. And putting these drops in his eye is not delightful.
I stopped at the liquor store on the way home. Because of course I did.

As long as you get them in the corner of his eye where the tear duct is, they don't actually have to be open when you put them in. Once the open their eye it will go in on it's own. Just continue sitting on him for a moment and keep blowing in his face or tickle his face with your hair so he'll open and close it more.
