I was complaining to N13 about her registry a couple weeks ago. Her friends are not rich. No one will be buying her a $130 changing pad. But what kills me is, I'm sure my MIL will buy her everything off her registry when the baby comes. And my SIL knows she will so that's why she put all that expensive stuff on there. She totally takes advantage of her parents. That’s one of the reasons why I didn’t want a baby shower. ILs aren’t well off and neither is my mom. And we didn’t ask for expensive stuff either. Just felt bad asking when we knew they couldn’t afford it.

Had my tattoo this morning to fix my awful teacup. We put Newfoundland flowers in it (like a teacup flower pot) and blueberries along the bottom to hide the awkward shape and weird dark shadow. He also used silver in the cup itself to trick the eye into making it appear lighter. So much prettier.

I'm at work. That is my only complaint for the day. So far. Check back at lunchtime.

I went ahead and scheduled M an appt with the pedi this afternoon. I know I'll probably have to wait forever there but at least I can harass her about getting a hold of the GI. It's been a week.

Meanwhile in ATL, we *might* get a single inch of snow tomorrow so they just closed schools and daycare.

starbuck In all honesty, if we got any snow here, that would probably happen, too. We're just not prepared for that shit.

O is home sick from school. He’s had diarrhea going on 3 days, raspy barky cough and a yeast infection. Yay! Doc said it’s eother croup or a stomach bug. Either way it’s a virus and we have to just wait it out, I’m washing my hands like 50x a day.

You guys don't have the equipment. We literally have a fleet in our city and then the county has a fleet. Last year when I went to Nashville, the whole city shut down over flurries but they said they have like one truck for the whole state.

Sorry for the sick kiddos cookswithwine and waitwhatI’ve got a sleeping L next to me on the couch. H just got off work from his shift and came to plow what I couldn’t get earlier since the kids got too cold. E is loving that he gets to go outside again. I’m loving this relaxing day, but have done almost zero work today except 2 calls this morning and answer a few emails 🤷🏻♀️ #sorrynotsorry!

sophiegrace I’m feeling good! Nausea has pretty much dissipated except if I’m super hungry. Tired mostly. I had to work midnight till 6am on Sunday. Doing that for the first time without caffeine was not fun!

We’re going to a luau on Saturday and happened across family matching Hawaii print with zero effort on my part. Obviously this needs to happen. Things like this just don’t fall into your lap.

Last year when I went to Nashville, the whole city shut down over flurries but they said they have like one truck for the whole state. This is how Seattle is too. Plus, we have lots and lots of hills. But I get the city and county not wanting to spend the money for the equipment when some years we don't even get a dusting (we haven't had anything at all this winter).

But jubilantsquirrel, when they do get hit, the whole city shuts down. I think when we still lived there, King County had 20 plow trucks. Also no salting roads before because it will ruin the puget sound eco system. Mind you, they can't plow most of those hills, especially around pike place market, and sanding those suck too! LOL I will say, that is one thing I don't miss about Seattle.

Hello all, sorry about my minor breakdown on SC yesterday. 6 weeks is too long for me to solo parent. I cried at church for the whole hour!?! Between L and I getting the stomach flu, and not wanting support because I don't know who to call and then who wants to risk stomach flu, I just was done. I just have to survive till Wednesday. I teach swimming tomorrow so that's 2 hours without L which will give me another break. Plus Wednesday L starts speech play-group which will give me a 2 hour break, we'll just be rushing from there to pick up DH and then rushing to drop me off back at work. Is parental burnout a thing? If not, it should be!
Anyone else's kid taking credit for everything? L's favorite phrase is "I did it!" But he never does it!?! I fix his trains, he exclaims, "I did it!" Ummm no dude, mama did it! LOL

I added sriracha to it while it was cooking also! And I wished I had something crunchy in it.. like slivered almonds or wonton noodles. It was soo good though.

Ear infection confirmed. I asked her if she had heard back from the GI yet and she said no and she was not happy about that. She said she’d be calling them again & would not be so nice this time.
We’ll see what happens.
