When I dropped C at school this morning there was a note that fevers and norovirus are going around. This is the first time ever that they have posted a notice like this so it must be significant. I am so hoping we can avoid it but given that C is a hugger, I am not convinced it will miss us.
Another day of shutdown prep at work. Leaving early for karate. I was thinking of leaving even earlier to hit the 3:45 class but C gets mad if I pick him up too early so I will stick it out to the 5:15 class. Dh is working late so I am looking forward to pizza and tv by myself.

tgrimes, that sucks. They should be able to do a colonoscopy and endoscopy at the same time so if they end up recommending one then I would ask for both so she doesn't need anesthesia twice. Has she been tested for celiac? I don't really know what they test for that but it came to mind so I figured I would mention it. I honestly don’t remember what all the GI tested for with the original lab work. My pedi had a scan of everything so I’m planning to ask her to go through it today. Does celiac usually cause vomiting or just diarrhea? I don’t know that much about it.

If it’s anything like S’s neuropsych eval when she was 1.5 ish.... it will be a lot of activities to see what he can do. Like stacking blocks, pick out the red xxxx, and observing him play and manipulate items. Plus, I had 5000 papers with questions to answer about what I felt she could/couldn’t do and how she reacted in certain social situations, how her emotions were, what she could do physically, ect. It was all specific questions like “in a group setting she will interact verbally with a stranger” and I had to answer all the time, some of the time, rarely, or never. But there was soooooo many of those questions. We were there for 3 hours. Good night! We already filled out one of those packets before they would even schedule the appointment (it was seriously over 100 pages) so hopefully they don’t need more of that today. I’m okay with whatever the outcome, but it will be good to know what we’re dealing with if it’s anything beyond SPD. Asperger’s has been suggested, but I just don’t know. So, we’ll see. Did they tell you anything right away at the appointment or did you have to wait? We had to wait a few weeks I believe. I can’t remember exactly how long. And they basically used it to tell us where she was developmentally, like what level she was functioning on. I hope P has a good first day at DC!

tgrimes celiac can have a ton of different responses. My friends daughter has it and she had none, they only tested her daughter bc my friend had it. N got tested bc of constant foul diapers but seems to be a wheat intolerance. Its just blood work, so hoping they'd do it. My sis has SIBO which is an overgrowth of some sort of bacteria in her gut, so throwing that out there as well for intestinal issues.

How do you test for that?

Morning! Big day for the Goldi household. P’s first time at DC, boys are getting their bunk beds, and X has his neurodevelopmental eval this afternoon. I’m not quite sure what to expect. We’re heading to the park to let him run around a bit so he’s not a maniac at the doctor’s office. Fingers crossed it all goes well! Big day, indeed!

This morning I dropped S off at school and then took Java to the vet (she still has a swollen lymph node but the whole neck isn’t swollen like last week). School called about an hour later and she’s had 3 seizures in about 30 minutes time so they had to give her the emergency seizure med. that makes her loopy and tired. So as I was finishing at the vets office they texted that she’d had 2 more seizures. So I went and picked her up and brought her home. She’s napping now and I am waiting for my pizza to get done in the oven then I might nap too.
The beauty of not working, naps! But we are on day 32 of this crap and I’m over it. Ready to go back to work and really ready for a paycheck. I got a message this morning that the initial furlough notice I signed was only for 30 days so they will be sending me another via personal email and I have to send something back acknowledging it.

I don't think probiotics will get this under control, she is on some crazy fodmap diet that is impossible to follow.

peachsmama I make Paula Deen's "South of the Border Mason Dixon dip" and it's always a hit, esp. with men, lol. In a small baking dish (8x8 or similar) spread out 2 packs of cream cheese; then top with a 15 oz. can of chili. Cover with 2 cups shredded cheddar. Bake at 350 for 20 minutes/until bubbly around the edges. Garnish with chopped green onions if desired. Serve with Tostito chips, fritos, etc. I hope things go well for P at school and at the doctor's appt. today, cagoldi . Keep us posted! tgrimes I'm so sorry. B/n H's ears and M's issues this is just craziness. Keep your head up, I hope y'all can get some answers soon.

So I got a text from Cadence's teacher saying Cadence says her ears hurt. I imagine they will be tender for a day or two, so I wasn't concerned. Told her thank you for letting me know. So then I text mh and say, you cleaned them this morning, right? Did they look red or anything? "Yeah, i cleaned them. They looked fine."
Then about 20 minutes later he texts me again. "Ok, so I don't want to lie to you. I didn't clean them. I forgot."
....wtf? It literally takes 30 freaking seconds to clean them. I'm very annoyed now.

tgrimes, thank you! I get what you’re saying, and do those last stretches pretty regularly. I’ll have to try the wall one. And then laugh at myself for my lousy flexibility. It is quite embarrassing and it hurts like a mofo. My feet used to touch the ground while I was dancing. Now....not so much. It would help if you can stretch the muscles all around the hip area, like the hamstrings, glutei, quads, etc. I know you go to the chiro. Have you ever asked them about your hips? Mine do a pull on each leg that’s supposed to help. But you might ask them about releasing your psoas. I used to have a dance partner that would massage mine. It would hurt at first but made a huge difference the next day. Omg to touching the ground! I predict a 25 degree angle. Lol. And yes, I scheduled a chiro appt for tomorrow. It helped briefly last time, until I worked out and it popped right away. Now It’s constantly popping and grinding.

Afternoon all!
The day started with J saying 'no friends' meaning she didn't want to go to daycare, I explained where we were all going and asked who would watch her and she confidently replied 'SANTA CLAUS'. We just all burst out laughing, such a good start to the morning.
Work has been a bit crazy this morning, and I've been trying to work on my SIL's resume for her, so the morning has flown by.

cagoldi, good luck with everything today! klong11 at least he was honest. DH would have forgotten too. IMO, if it was a regular routine thing I would be upset but since it is brand new I would let it go this time. If he forgets again, get upset. lfig I'm sorry S got sent home. I hope she feels better soon and you get a good nap.

It's annoying that he fibbed initially but at least he owned up to it. klong11 maybe put a sticky-note reminder on the bathroom mirror (or wherever she gets ready) to remind everyone? The care/maintenance is one of the reasons my mom held off on letting us get ours done (the minimum was 13). Team Lazy so I waited until I was 17 and a friend literally dragged me to the jeweler, lol.

Then I will prob cave. cagoldi Good Luck with all the going gs on today! Crossing my fingers that P is a champ at DC and the study gives you some answers. chrisy01 You look great, go get 'em!

Yes, twisting them was my issue! I got my ears pierced when I was 7 and we weren’t great at twisting the back. My skin grew over the backs of the earrings and my mom took me to the ER (which seems like an over reaction) where they basically ripped them out with with a pliers. I was traumatized.
