In a spot if good news, NY officially passed their reproductive health act today. It protects abortion rights up to 24 weeks, including if Roe v. Wade is over turned. It also allows for PAs to be able to preform surgical termination and nurses and midwives to give medication to to aid in early loss, so it should make access pretty easy and straight forward.

donnamoss do you mind sharing what you do (even if vaguely?) I know a lot of govt contractors HR and I recognize that it’s hilarious that I asked where to go about looking for a job. But we deal in USAJOBS only, so I’m really out of practice with anything else. ETA: fix spelling and things—I’m drunk

donnamoss, if there are universities anywhere near you, look on their employment boards or maybe Chronicle for Higher Education's job board. There are many HR jobs across a big public university and in my experience interacting with HR at the central and collegiate levels at a large public university, having experience with a big bureaucracy would be a giant plus in a candidate.

Same with hospitals and health systems, which are a plenty in your area donnamoss

donnamoss I’m sorry you’re in this position too. My dad keeps telling me to start applying for other jobs. But I really do enjoy my job. I wouldn’t know where to search either. But if you did want to stay with the government, maybe DOD jobs? I have a couple of friends who work for a division of DOD and they rarely if ever get shutdown. (Per friends)

I am not in HR, but helped with the interview process for one of my peers (at a large public university). Previous experience as a state or federal employee was a huge plus.

I think he's been going on tv in the mornings after drinking too Until this morning I was just 'rudy be rudying' but they brought up a point this morning. If he is on tv stating things that contradict the written statements that potus has given Mueller its a much bigger deal.

I just emailed him to remind him as a freshman rep, hes there to serve the people of this state and not a despot in office.

But if you did want to stay with the government, maybe DOD jobs? I have a couple of friends who work for a division of DOD and they rarely if ever get shutdown. (Per friends) I struggle too because I LOVE my job and my team and my agency, and not to toot my horn but I’m really good at my job...but we are a single income house as H stays home, so I feel a great deal of responsibility to have reliable income. It’s maddening to be used as a political pawn year after year, CR after CR, budget cut after budget cut. I’m just tired.
