oooh speaking of microwaving, have you microwaved marshmallows? Place a hand full of small ones, or a large on, on a sprayed (Pam) plate, microwave until it gets big, about 30 seconds, then take it out and place in the freezer immediately for about 30 minutes. Marshmallow candy, so, so, good.

vino, in the same vein, I've made microwaved rice krispie treats. It's just marshmallows and rice krispies. Some times, if I'm feeling wild and crazy, I add chocolate! lol

Does anyone else have an LG washer? I love it. I think it does a really good job, but the timer on it just nuts. It’ll say I have five minutes left, and then it stay on two minutes for eight minutes.

Following because Ev has been asking to get hers done. And so has my 16 y/o 😉 Evie asks me once a week probably. I'm holding off. I remember I got mine done in like the 3rd grade...my mom always told me I had to be old enough to take care of them myself. I know Evie isn't at that point yet...girl can barely remember to brush her teeth twice a day, no way is she cleaning her ears. It seems like a lot of people here, take their kids to tattoo places, at least that's what I've seen on FB. I haven’t gotten H’s done yet but I plan to take her to a tattoo parlor. A coworker brought her niece to get ears pierced at Claire’s and it was still like $70 after all is said and done.

Morning! Dh and I have date night tonight. We're just going to dinner and a movie. But it'll be nice to get out. I am always shocked at the amount of bday partie N13 kids go to. N usually has 2-3 a year for just close friends. Well, she has 3 this weekend! 2 of them overlap tomorrow, one at the bowling alley from 2-4, one at the swimming pool from 2-5. Would you try and make it to both? She of course wants to, so we'll probably leave a little early from bowling so she can swim for an hour or so. The other is Sunday morning at 10:30 which is a scandalous time for a small, church-going, town. lol. I have had overlapping Bday parties - I would not try to go to both. I would either have N pick which she prefers more, or I would pick which was more convenient. Yeah we have tons of birthday parties. Most kids invite the whole class and there are 20 kids in his class. Then S goes to aftercare where they combine classes so he has always been friends with slightly older or younger kids so he occasionally gets an extra invitation.

re: ears pierced - around here people either go to Claire's or a local jewelry store. My old boss' wife owns a nice jewelry store and they do a TON of piercings.

The process is different. Claire's uses the ear gun, tattoo shops use a hollow needle.

+1 to what jewels said slenle. I would pick one party, it'd be hard to manage both, be there for the 'peak' of playing time. Also, you don't just want to show up at the end for food and cake for the second party you'd go to, of course that woudn't be your intention but if it were me, I'd be worrying how it'd look.

That's for the earrings and the care solution. The actual piercing is free.

I'm leaving a few minutes early today to take S to his karate trial. If he likes it, and if we can fit it in our schedule, I am going to sign him up. There are a ton of studios in our area but a bunch of kids he knows goes to this one so I figured it might be fun for him. I think it will be so cute!
Then, fingers crossed that the massive snowstorm they are predicting does not come. We are supposed to fly to FL on Sunday. I'm nervous!

Can the tattoo parlor do both ears at the same time? If so, and it's the same price, and Cadence isn't scared of the place, I'd choose that. If not, go to Claires.

She says she wants to do it at the mall, so we may end up a Claire's no matter what. I would also like to know how she knows you get your ears pierced at the mall.

Does anyone else have an LG washer? I love it. I think it does a really good job, but the timer on it just nuts. It’ll say I have five minutes left, and then it stay on two minutes for eight minutes. i think it depends on the time it takes for the contents to spin enough moisture out

I didn’t really get a diagnosis, but since my symptoms have been going on for so long she prescribed me antibiotics to take for a week. They are massive pills so that’s annoying. Now we’re working on nap time for the girls. I can’t take a nap (although I’d love to) because I have to go to bed early.

That makes sense because it is always when it’s on the spin cycle.

I have a babysitter tonight and I’m going out on the town 💃🏼 I randomly choose our realtor down here online because she had good reviews & I thought she was pretty & professional looking (i didn’t have much else to go on) Turns out we get along great and have hung out several times. So that’s who I’m going with! klong11 I got my oldest done at Claire’s when she was 2 because she wanted to. (I know that’s young but she was very articulate & adamant about it- i could have cared less. I explained everything to her and that it was going to hurt.) It went totally fine but i would not do that again. In the future I will use a tattoo shop. That didn’t occur to me at the time.

When I was 5 my mom took me to get my ears pierced. It hurt so I wouldn't let them do the 2nd ear so I just had one earing for awhile. I'll definitely have them do both ears at once if L chooses to get hers done when she's older.

I've told her it will hurt, and so she stopped asking for a good 6 months, but now she's back on it. Maybe I should remind her about the pain. I'm not against doing it, I just want to make sure she is sure. I mean she also kept saying she wanted fingernail stickers and I got her those and she peeled them off after like 30 minutes.

My moldy washer is an LG and sometimes it stays on 5 minutes for hours if I don’t stop it. Can’t wait to get rid of it.

The first time I put them on Evie, she peeled them off in a day. I told her I wouldn't waste my time doing them again, if she was just going to peel them off quickly. Since then, she doesn't bother them. They last over a week now. But we change out our nails pretty frequently here.

Hi hi - we had early release and I'm doing some school work before fetching the kids. The snow last night was pretty but didn't impact our drive at all, my kind of snow! I think we will tell the kids about the trip tonight. I signed up for a class tomorrow, but no other real plans this weekend.. I'm ok with that!

I do. I would love it if it wasn’t a front loader, but I like it a lot because it has given us zero problems so far. Well, other than the moldy sealing gasket. I would like to buy an LG top loader at some point. Wanted to add that it has never smelled for a front loader, even with the awful sealing gasket.

We use a little butter too just like the old fashioned way.
