I just want to give 100% of my love to whoever suggested juice for the antibiotics yesterday ( tgrimes I think?). We tried it this morning in a cup of juice (he almost never gets juice so that was a big treat in his eyes) and gave him a fun bendy straw with it. He drank it in 2 large sips. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!! We have to take a lot of medicine at our house. 😉 I’m glad it worked!

Morning. I forgot my lunch at home. Boo. Other than that I’m having an ok day so far. M2 started the night off weird and whiny, so I dosed him with Tylenol around 1am thinking it is his teeth and he slept pretty soundly after that. I still don’t fall into a deep sleep though. It’s like I’m half awake all night. I think I have too much on my mind to sort out and it is causing me to lose sleep. Could you maybe write out some of the things you’re thinking about on a notebook or something before you go to bed? It seems to help me see things on paper and not worry so much about keeping track of it all in my head, if that makes sense. Or I could just be a weirdo. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ve got an Immunologist visit this morning and then they want to do some genetic testing for research. That should be interesting... I almost don’t want to know what they find! I’ve got enough problems already. Will they tell you? Some research does not inform the pt unless they provide genetic counseling. But yes, it is interesting to see what is in there Yes, but months down the line. They said it won’t be complete until September and they’ll provide me with the outcome in December.

tgrimes, also, I am all in on the leggings thing b/c I love comfort. But I also sometimes feel more "put together" in pants or Jeggings. Can you wear jeans to work? I HATED Jeggings at first, but now I almost exclusively wear them instead of jeans. In fact, I am wearing regular jeans today and hate that I feel the button digging in to me. My jeggings are SOOO much more comfortable, esp in the waist!

Morning! Just dropped a resistant Theo at pre-school, and I've got Evie home in day 3 of some sort of illness. The baby has is it too, so not much sleep was had around here last night. Is it summer yet?
Somehow I am am supposed to get my oldest to the city tonight to attend his father's game, but it's not looking good. We recently pulled all his electronics and he literally does not know what to so with himself, so I would like to get him out if the house. Luckily track starts in less than two weeks and he will be at practice every day after school and you know, participating in the real world. Teenagers, man.

I recommend melatonin or a white noise app. I can still hear E over the white (actually brown is my choice) noise but it really helps with those pesky thoughts

Morning! SSDD here. B has school, I need to mail something, and then home for housework. C has been having the worst time going to sleep the last few nights...normally she is super easy and will even ask to go to bed 😳 I really, really hope she’s not ready to drop her nap yet. I’m going to try bumping it up and see if that helps. S went through this at some point (later, I think around 2.5 or so) and I pushed his bedtime back by about 30 minutes and he started falling right to sleep. He kept his nap till after 3. Not sure if that will help or not, but figured I'd throw it out there. Thanks! Always open to suggestions. I'll try this if the earlier nap doesn't do the trick. B dropped the nap sometime b/n 2.5 and 3 so I was hoping to hang on that long with C.

Did he get in trouble to get no electronics or just trying to be present? How is his job going? He's been on a downward spiral toward general apathy for the last year or so. Quit hockey, lost his job and wants to just sit around on his phone or Playstation all day. He's pretty much too cool for anything anymore. Then, he spent $200 of his job money on a belt. A BELT. We decided he needed a reset and a wake up call. I was like, listen here Richey Rich, if you think you've got money like that to blow, then you're not paying attention. Phones, Playstation, Jordan's (not to mention a house, food, utilities like wifi for video games)...that stuff costs money and somebody is working to provide those things. You have to hold up your end of the bargain if you want to continue to live that life. So basically, he is starting from zero and has to earn it all back. Oh and he better not ask me for a DIME for any extras. Your friends are going to the movies? You can sit at home in your belt looking fly, player. Sorry for the DD...I'm still hot about this, as you can see 🔥🔥🔥

I think you did the right thing dapostrophe. Certainly not the *easiest* thing, but good parenting often isn’t easy. We (and generation X, to an extent) are the first generations that are really having to deal with the phones, social media, and constant connectivity with our kids as they grow up. They are exposed to it so much earlier than we were, or even kids born in the ‘90s. It’s going to be interesting to see how it all plays out long-term but I think boundaries are good.

FYI - when I went to the Loft outlet site to link those pants for tgrimes they are on CRAZY sale (usually like $70 - they are $20 now. I didn't buy any b/c I have so many, but I did just buy $100 worth of other clothes. I know there are other Loft people here (I believe flamingo and possibly lahdeedah?) Anyway, the sale is crazy. I got an $80 pair of pants for $24 and a few tops that are usually $50 - $70 all for $10 - $25 Just thought I would share!

flamingo I'm seeing a change in J's napping/sleeping as well. She happily goes in the crib at 7.20ish but rolls around and isnt asleep until about 8pm. With naps, I always wake her by 2.30pm the latest and it helps a bit, but I'm hoping to hang on to naps for a while yet.

Morning all.
I left work early and took the kids for their second flu shot yesterday, it went about as good as expected and seemed fine this morning. The season of appointments is upon us; so we've got eye Dr, pedi check ups, dentist check ups scheduled within the next couple weeks for me and the kids. The optometrist office asked if I wanted to bring both kids and myself for appointments at the same time...LOL lady, NO I do not wish to do that. She giggled when I told her NO!, so she must be a Mom.

And there are literally no measures or restrictions in place. Every algorithm, marketing trick, all of it is designed to keep us (and our kids) online as much as possible. It's literally designed to be addictive. No wonder my kid does not want to work or play a sport, because that requires actual work...and it sucks sometimes. It's much easier to passively scroll and watch other people living their highly curated, fantasy lives. Honestly, it was a wake-up call for us as much as him. The whole culture of the family needed to be adjusted. I could go on, but I agree that our parents did not have to deal with this as much and it's uncharted territory.

For that price? I would do it. Unless you have a Loft outlet near you that you can check out. But last time, on sale, I paid $40 for them. Also, if you need other stuff, you can add that then the $9 doesn't seem so bad!

tgrimes and jewels This is the first year that the kids have had their flu shots, so any kid under 9 get two doses, 4 weeks apart, their first year. Any year after this they get one.

That makes sense. It's the same for us with their first flu shot. But we did them when the kids were 10-11 months old.
