President Trump tweets that he will make an announcement concerning the humanitarian crisis at the southern border and the government shutdown Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at the White House. NEAT This is an underrated response. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Is it bad that I am yearning for golfing weather so that T can stop “working” on the weekends?

Omg. True story
What’s actually timely about this is we are reading a book about MLK with DS right now and he was telling us he knows about Rosa Parks. I asked him what he knows and he tells me but in the beginning he says “Rosa was so tired. And so she sat in the front of the bus”. He heard “Rosa Parks was tired of sitting in the back of the bus”, which is the phrasing all the kids books use, and interpreted that as she was physically too tired to walk to the back of the bus. 🤦🏻♀️ We cleared it up and explained the law and etc, but I was thinking “damn, these kids books need to be a lot clearer”.

I know but does the pres just simply get to chose any rando or is there some sort of vote on his choice? The Veep appoints a successor, subject to a majority vote in both chambers of Congress Thanks DC!!

So do we think it's national emergency time? I'm very impressed by an emergency that can wait two plus weeks to be handled. Quite the emergency. Much emergent. Two things of note Nicolle Wallace said today, as told by a Trump ally: The shutdown was the goal. Babies in cages was the goal. They knew the US media would go nuts over caged toddlers, report on it, and *maybe* that would deter asylum seekers from even coming here. That's as far as they thought this through. They have no plan for what to do next. They wanted the shutdown, they only kind of care about the wall. They wanted to start the 116th Congress with a deeply polarizing meltdown. They have no second or third step and are utterly surprised that public sentiment isn't behind them.

I don't know how this ends. Mitch McConnell dies of a heart attack* and his successor finally allows a vote on reopening the government? I don't see what changes his mind about this. Trump announcing he's bored of the shutdown? What??
*I absolutely NOT advocating for any harm to come to him.

What in the actual fuck? Did that author just emerge from a coma and talk to no one before writing down his thoughts on racism? I don’t even...

What is weird is that Buzzfeed asked the Special Counsel's Office for a statement for the story and they declined to comment, per the story.

Ugh and Buzzfeed is digging in saying they "remain confident in the accuracy of our report." I mean whatever, but this feeds the fake news/no collusion shit. Hell I bet Trump has already tweeted that Muellee completely cleared him of all wrongdoing now.

It might be true, but now anything else that comes out willh ave doubt cast on it.

At least we'll hear from Cohen himself in a couple of weeks, but still. This is very frustrating. It was such a glimmer of hope and it feels like it was ripped away.
I hope the house still investigates it.
Ugh. I don't know how much more I can take.

I would have thought Special Counsel would have made remarks that they could neither confirm or deny, since it's still an active investigation, anyways.
