If I get this new job I would have to start actually dressing up for work. Right now my dress code is black pants and a blue top, I pretty much always wear my toms to work. For the interview I was thinking of wearing a nice cowl neck sweater, dress pants and black flats. Is that professional enough for an interview? I don’t even know.

Welp no membrane strip 😥 and baby is measuring at 9lb 9oz 😳😳😳 Waiting for my chiropractor and acupuncture appointment now. Thanks for all the support today guys. I'm not giving up hope! That’s crap. Are you dilated at all? Why wouldn’t they do it? I'm a 1/fingertip and she needed a 2 and baby to be applied to sweep. Baby is low but not engaged at all Although I'm feeling more pressure tonight than I have before so I'm still hoping 😁

I've never worn dressier than that for an interview and I only ever not gotten 2 jobs I've interviewed for. But I'm not a suit/blazer person at all, so I'd feel uncomfortable in anything like that.

Also, while I’m not at flamingo level dressed during the day, I pretty much always wear jeans and a top. I mostly just don’t want to look/feel like a bum.

I own a blazer but I’m 90% certain it doesn’t fit right now with all the weight I’ve gained. The other option is a button up blouse but I wouldn’t want to tuck it because it would look bad. The obvious solution would be for me to magically lose 20lbs in a week, but that’s probably not happening.

I'm leaning towards this as well. I've been awkwardly staring at peoples shoes/feet for a while now and it does look more professional with the knee highs. Lots of people wear ankle boots at this time of year, and I do as well, but there are certain pants I have that look nicer with a pointy toe, flat or heel. I think this is a probably a warm weather approach, but nobody here dresses like that. I guess the climate just lends to being less dressy? When we have people come in from our main office in MN, they are quick to tell them we are very much “a Southern California, Laid-back office,” when the dress code is mentioned. So that is apparently code for, it’s casual, as a business environment goes and that’s the norm here. Southern California and Arizona were the best. I loved how casual it was and sandals are totally normal at work and shorts. My friends here are all "so unprofessional! " but it's so comfortable!

Caroline went down at 7:15ish and has been alternating b/n "Ring around the Rosie" and "Happy Birthday" for the last hour+. We're cracking up, but seriously kid, go to sleep! ha! N does a happy birthday/old MacDonald combo on our commute. She really belts it out too, but I think she may have a voice only a mother can love😂

trtlcrzy is it a professional industry? I think the sweater, slacks, and flats would prob work. Of even a button down under a sweater? Or if you think a Blazer is necessary, I have had great luck with h&m blazers in the past. I suspect merona at Target would have a good one at a decent price too.

The position is for an admin assistant in the marketing dept for the hospital. I don’t think it’s super profession dress in the office.

I found eating and just sitting up in bed for a few mins before moving helped a lot. Hopefully it helps you. Are you gaining weight? Is your OB concerned about how much you are getting sick? I gained 2 pounds at my last appointment and I've got some room to lose a few so they're not worried.

I think so you already work in the environment, you know what is professional looking, without over doing it. Being comfortable is also important, so you can breathe and answer well. I think what you have planned sounds fine, I would not think twice interviewing someone dressed in that. If you are thinking blazer, when I interviewed last winter, I got a blazer at Maurices that was reasonably priced. I also had a friend loan me one, but didnt wear hers.

Our department just gave us all fleeces today. We have a range of dress from scrubs, dr professional, dress casual, to sweats. I used to dress more business casual but I'm moving more toward more casual (aka jeans) as I go up and down sizes and need new clothes.

So the past couple of days Cadence keeps saying she has to wear certain panties so they match her friend's. I told her they shouldn't be showing each other their panties. Well, the past 2 days she has said R didn't wear any panties that day so they couldn't match. I find it odd that someone is letting their 5 year old go to school without panties on.

Yeah, that’s questionable. The only think I can think is that the 5 year old dresses herself and mom/dad don’t check to see that she has them on.

The kid probably dresses herself and the parents probably don’t even know about the missing panties.

I've noticed she comes to school wearing the same outfit as the day before fairly often. She has a little sister who is 2 years younger and a baby brother on the way, plus they just moved into a new house, so I'm guessing they have a lot on their plate right now.

I'm glad dress is very casual in the PNW. We went to a fancier place for dinner the other night and everyone was wearing fleece, flannel, and jeans. My people. I have no qualms about my uniform of mostly leggings/sometimes jeans and in the fall a flannel or long-sleeved shirt and vest. In the summer it's usually a character tee. I dress like a dude. My Bluth banana stand shirt is my favorite.

Yeah, not the same thing, but similarly - I lay out S clothes in the morning but he dresses himself while I dress B. A few weeks ago he forgot to take his old underwear off and put his new pair on over his old underwear (so he was wearing 2 pairs). He didn't realize it till he went to the bathroom at school. I could see him forgetting to put the underwear on at all and I would never notice.

I wear nylons to work. Depending on what I’m doing that day or where I’m going to be working will decide what I wear.
Nylons are a hot topic at work. Some managers/directors/VPs don’t care but others feel they should be worn so I just error on the side of caution. If I want to move up I need to follow all the rules.
