I cannot handle hearing about wool slacks with knee socks. NO, girls! That is puzzling, inthekitty. I wonder if it’s walking pneumonia or some kind of environmental irritant? Hope you get a clearer picture soon. wedding that drawing is gorgeous. What a thoughtful gesture on your part. Good luck, mskatiep! A membrane sweep got me going with Atticus. Happy birthday, cheeksmum!

I struggled for weeks with my congestion. Maybe give her some mucinex in the morning. If it's just coughing I think you are ok. If she's having trouble breathing worry more? I don't think it's a nasal drip thing because she hasn't been congested. But according to her teacher and school nurse she's hacking up a lung there. I'm not worried per se, but I picked her up on Monday because apparently her coughing was so severe it was distracting and she felt horrible. But then I bring her home and she's more or less fine. I don't want her to be miserable at school or be a distraction in the classroom, but I also don't want to start a habit of her coughing to get out of school. Cass never had difficulty breathing with pneumonia. She went to school, TKD, mostly had crazy energy except for a few moments here and there so while I don't think it's that because the presentation is mainly at school, I just don't know. If it’s pneumonia wouldn’t she have a fever?

oh and morning, all. Just another day of changing the world from the comfort of my govt cubicle. I'm trying something new today; trying out knee high stockings so I can wear dress shoes in the office. I go between feeling very professional to Granny like within minutes. It's a confusing day over here. Switch to thigh highs with a garter belt so you can look professional but feel like the sexy beast you are.

If it’s pneumonia wouldn’t she have a fever? Cass never did. The only thing that really got to her was when she got an ear infection along with the pneumonia. I felt kind of cheated because my kid was sick but instead of being lethargic and sleeping more she mostly had wild energy.

I cannot handle hearing about wool slacks with knee socks. NO, girls! I don't mean knee socks, I was referring to sheer stockings. Not sure about others. But either way, I will agree to disagree I think if you are in a business environment with dressy slacks and heels on, it looks too casual to have bare feet, esp. in the winter considering weather. eta: apparently this is my hill today, lol. Me and Kate Middleton, singlehandedly keeping the panty hose industry alive!!

I've been awkwardly staring at peoples shoes/feet for a while now and it does look more professional with the knee highs. Lots of people wear ankle boots at this time of year, and I do as well, but there are certain pants I have that look nicer with a pointy toe, flat or heel.

I think this is a probably a warm weather approach, but nobody here dresses like that. I guess the climate just lends to being less dressy? When we have people come in from our main office in MN, they are quick to tell them we are very much “a Southern California, Laid-back office,” when the dress code is mentioned. So that is apparently code for, it’s casual, as a business environment goes and that’s the norm here.

Why would you need knee highs to wear dress shoes? I wear heels almost daily without knee highs. Do you wear bare feet in the shoes? or the little half socks? I've tried the little half socks and they fall off my feet so I am forever adjusting them, and I've tried so many, and having the bareness of the top of my feet exposed feels weird this time of year. IDK I'm not sold on anything, I'm just really working through my feelings and FWP over here
Bare feet
ETA: here's my pasty feet. No one here wears knee highs unless they are over 50.

I have rediscovered some slacks that still fit but cannot be worn with booties/boots and I'm too lazy to think this through. They are currently not being worn. We are casual here so black jeans is considered appropriate. Funny that I used to have a whole wardrobe of dresses, tights, and boots for winter. I don't think I've worn tights since before j...but I am all about dresses in the summer.

wedding I don't consider what you're wearing to be 'dress slacks' though. They look more casual to me in that photo. I'm wearing black jeans today with bare feet and flats...stockings would def look weird with that, lol.

vino Yeah, barely noticeable difference, but your left foot def. looks more "polished". And your pants seem on the dressier side to me...fabric, cut, etc. Kate Middleton would be proud cagoldi Agreed, region and climate definitely play a part. I think the east coast is dressier/more 'buttoned up' than the west, IME anyway.

Me and Kate Middleton, singlehandedly keeping the panty hose industry alive!! 90% of the time I wear dresses with pantyhose’s, in summer too. Unless I wear open toe shoes, in that case I were grandma style underwear that almost comes to my knees. I’ve been known to wear panty leggings (like 40-60 den) too... send the style police.

Cute shoes wedding ! When I wear my black skinny pants I wear my ankle booties but if I wear my dress pants that arent skinny with my boots, it looks a little casual/almost country looking, hence the stockings experiment today... N13, welcome to my random stream of thoughts.

Also Hi girls! I’m in full on SIL wedding prep mode, all our outfits are done, I bought some last minute things just now and have a hair appointment tomorrow. I really have no idea what tomorrow is going to be like. The happy couple has been ambiguous about their big day to say the least, so I hope they can let that go and have fun tomorrow.

vino what’s wrong with a looking a little bit country ? Give me a the boots and jean dresses! Oh for the love that is all holy . I live in the PRAIRIES.....lol. Nothing is 'wrong' with country. But, for me, for the office, where I am trying to advance my career, since I have to be here for the next 20 years, I'm looking at all aspects, including stockings.
