August Blooms, 👍 for your day with DD 👎 for your MIL. What is that? I just know giardia is a parasite present in contaminated water.

codex320 hoping M is doing much better. Double EIs are the worst. DS started feeling yucky today in school and he started coughing 😩 I’m hoping he’ll be able to sleep and we’ll see how he feels tomorrow but I think even without a fever, I’ll keep him home as I DNW him to get worse. Also yes! To SR shoes on Amazon and that’s a great deal. I’ve gotten all of ds’ SR shoes around $20 there.

I feel like I’ve been away for a while. I’ve been basically finishIng up DS’ closet. Hubs was off all of December and we decided to built a closet system...he built it and I filled all the nail holes and painted it. Finally got it all done today which I’m so happy about. It’s taken fR too long and I can reclaim my closet and bureau space. Now that it’s done, I can get go get some landscaping done outside weather permitting. So we’ve had a speech explosion over here with lil fella! He went from saying a few words a week before Xmas and now we have over a dozen of words..not exactly clear but words nonetheless. Also almost a month I think of him sitting on the potty and we have had 4 poopy accidents. 3 big ones and 1 skid mark 😬 his comprehension has also exploded and when I ask or tell him we’re going potty or do you need to go poopy, he starts pushIng and turning red 😂 80% of the time we get Mr. Hanky the other times just pee and a small percent of definitely refusing to sit on the potty and since Xmas at the ILs, we’ve been using the potty ring on the big toilet. It’s been amazing not to have to clean a stinky messy poopy butt 😬🤮🤢 and flush it down so we might be on to something 😀

CoachTsWife how are you and how is your h? Hoping he on the road to recovery and regaining mobility. Thinking of you 😘 We're doing ok! Thank you for asking. He's doing so much better, even helping out as he can around the house and with the boys. Completely through the med withdrawals, luckily that only lasted a couple days. Planning to return to work next week after the post op dr appt. I'm feeling better, mostly over the bug or whatever I had. We're anxiously awaiting our trip to Mexico, which we booked right before he got hurt. We need a vacay now more than ever!

CoachTsWife I am so happy your H is feeling better, and that you have the vacation coming up! You guys deserve it sooooo much. duskymonkey How awesome that your LO is using the potty so well for #2! It’s really easy to spot when DS2 has to go, so I might try doing that - just to see what happens. Flushing the poo away is so much better then dealing with it in a diaper! danvers Yay for sheet masks. If you really want to perk up your skin, check out hydrating toners (like Klairs supple prep toner) and snail (cosrx 96 power snail serum). I promise you will not regret it.

duskymonkey That’s the same one, we were told you can get it from the person that is contaminated originally. Sounds like you’ve got a ton of stuff done. I love a good organization project. CoachTsWife Glad to see the update on your H. When do you guys head to Mexico?

AQI is horrible today (186), so no outdoor activity for us ☹️. I hope it improves this weekend, because tomorrow it’s children’s day in our country! They really go all out for that holiday here, with free food, entertainment, and activities at the local park and mall. Lots of restaurants and kids-centered businesses participate too, with fun activities. I am hoping we can take advantage of some, but if the AQI is unhealthy, it’s not a good idea to have our kids out at the park.
The air filtration systems (even at the mall) also suck and don’t do much to improve the quality of the indoor air, so I’m not sure if going to the mall would help much either. I might send DH to there first to take a reading with our AQ portable monitor- just to see what it’s like inside vs outside 🤔. Would be an interesting experiment at the very least!

CoachTsWife such a great thing to look forward too and sounds like your H will be recovered enough to travel and have a R&R codex320 that's awesome with SKR shoes, I've heard great things about the brand but never gotten them. How do they compare in size to SR shoes? BTW 5.5 shoe size sounds about right around this age. Taitai, it takes time and consistency if your nanny is on board DO IT! The times lil fella had those accidents were when we weren't paying attention, he was super excited playing with new presents, change in environment ( just returned from our holiday trip and my mom was putting him down for nap next day and she wasn't familiar with his signals ) Not sure it it's coincidence with needing to go but he has crawled several times to the bathroom and pointed to the potty and a few times in the am immediately after nursing him, he pointed to the bathroom and also at night last week, during his bottle with hubs, he kept pointing to the bathroom and saying dis dis to hubs. Anyways, no pressure, I just started taking him at intervals and when we do routine diaper changes and before bath. Try it, you could be in for a nice surprise. This was how I did it with DS, although I started with him around 18 months and by 20 months, we didn't have any poopcidents...pee was a whole different matter though.

CoachTsWife, glad your H is feeling better. i bet you guys are counting down the days for the trip

Happy Friday! I’m back to work tomorrow and H has to take DD1 to her first skating lessons. I’m a little sad I’m going to miss out, but it is what it is. duskymonkey He’ll be running in no time to keep up with his big brother! Taitai My kids are inside for the opposite reason it’s freezing here today. That sucks about the AQI, is it a regional issue? Is the country able to institute and enforce any policies that would lead to a reduction? And I just saw a commercial for a story that the news network is running that our plastic is shipped to Malaysia for recycling and is burned... yikes that can’t help.

Taitai FX🤞 The AQI improves tomorrow (today?) dot Children’s Day! I remember you posting about it last year and it’s so cool how they go all out and celebrate it duskymonkey We definitely still have some wobbly drunk swagger to our walk here at times, especially if DD2 is tired. He is going to be running so soon! @augustbloom skating lessons sounds like so much fun - I hope your DD enjoyed it! How old is you DD1 again?

So daycare informed us a few days ago they are no longer “holding” spots for families who choose not to attend in the summer. If we wish to attend in the fall, we will need to pay through the summer our regular rate (which just increased... again). The director said she is almost 100% certain there would be a spot for DD1. DD2, however, she wasn’t sure about.
We loved everything about our daycare but it is already really expensive, especially for the cost of living in our area. Not sending them in the summer saves us $2,000. I totally get why they can’t do it anymore due to loss of their profits - the school system is the second largest employer in our county so many of the families are in similar positions to H and I.
H and I have been talking for a few months now about trying find jobs closer to “home”. This might be one of the pushes we need.
*least it sound dramatic that we would move simply because daycare won’t let us hold our spot this summer know that this is 1 small thing out of a very long list of reasons we should move. I just wish someone could really read my future in a crystal ball cause this is becoming a lot of decision making and adulting...

danvers I am all about living as close as possible to where you work! It improves the quality of your life sooooo much. (If you can swing it - I know it’s not possible for everyone) August Blooms The poor air quality is definitely a seasonal and a regional thing. Many countries in Asia deal with poor AQI - China being the worst. Indonesia is also pretty bad during the burning season in Sumatra....which affects Malaysia and Singapore. Poor Singapore - they are a really clean city, but get screwed over by their neighbors. Similar situation with Hong Kong/Taiwan and China. Our country could definitely do more to improve things (better enforcement/regulations for auto and factory emissions, better enforcement against illegal “open burning” - where people burn garbage and their farm fields). However, I’m not optimistic that much will improve in our country. Corruption is endemic, locals lack education about the issue, it is still a developing country, and the poor AQ doesn’t last all year, so it’s not pressing enough of an issue for them to do much about it. The AQ normally clears up to reasonable levels by March or April - so the bad time is Dec - Feb/early March. It’s definitely a downside to living here, but very manageable with air purifiers, masks, and limiting outdoor activity in high AQI days. It’s also not every day - the first week of Jan, for instance, was in the green/yellow range. Just something to keep an eye on - too bad!

I love watching post-apocalyptic dramas and I like to think I’d be a badass if the time came. But then tonight I saw that a dead mouse in one of our traps, screamed like a little girl, and made H take care of it. So actually I don’t think I’d do so great 😂 🐭

danvers She will be 4 in April and really enjoyed it. My H sent me some video and it looked like a lot of slipping and falling, they give them this thing to push around the ice to help assist and she did a great job for her first time. I hear you on the adulting stuff and deciding about moving. We still haven’t decided if and when we are going to move. DD1 starts kindergarten in September and I’m really feeling like I need to make a decision but the decision may be to stay put for another year. It’s so hard to make these sorts of decisions. Decision. Taitai Glad to hear it’s not an everyday thing at this time of year so that you guys can at least get some sort of break. That’s interesting about the region, and makes sense when you explain it that ways. I guess even if things need to be improved they may not due to all those factors you mentioned

We had 7.5 inches of snow this morning and it snowed most of the day. I bet we have 9-10 inches now, at least. Had to pay someone to shovel the driveway since DH can't do that yet. I half heartedly tried to shovel a little when we took DS1 out to play. This snow is really wet and heavy, so that was a big lolno.
Got to see my BFFs newborn yesterday. He's at Children's hospital but doing really well now.

The only post- apocalyptic skill I have is the ability to walk long distances without getting too tired.... 🤣

The AQ improved yesterday afternoon, so we were able to go out for some festivities! They had a fun parade, a petting zoo, food/coconut icecream, and a butterfly/tropical bird exhibit! DS1 got to hold several snakes, pet silky soft polish chickens, see some prairie dogs, and feed veggies to some pigs. A butterfly also landed on DS1 in the exhibit, which made him so excited! Some parrots also landed on DH, which was hilarious because they weren’t really supposed to leave their perch. 50 people in this exhibit, and the birds only land on DH!
All in all - a great day, and we are so glad we got to celebrate the holiday.
AQI is horrible this morning, so we stayed inside to watch a movie and bake choc chip cookies. I ate 2 big spoonfuls of cookie dough. My FAV. Hoping the air improves so we can go swimming later this afternoon. 🤞🤞

Last night at the grocery store, an older woman on her phone said "oh, there is a cute baby here" and without any prompting (waving first or her trigger words : buh bye) she smiled and waved at her.
My cold, dead heart burst into a million pieces. Clearly in the future we will discuss stranger danger again but for now I just feel like it makes peoples days when she that.

Guise, I am waiting for AF and am mucho annoyed with my PP still BF irregular periods. We decided to go for ttc #3 for the next couple months. So we stopped using condoms for the first time on cycle day 20. It is currently day 32 🤨 Seems unlikely we magically timed that right to get ku on the first try. Last cycle was 30 days but the one before was 40 so wtf knows. If AF doesn’t show up in the next day or two I will go buy a test
