We’re a week into 2019. Is everyone getting back into their normal routines? Any post holiday slumps going on? Just about a month until Valentine’s day though!

Last day of winter break for DS1. I know I have mentioned this before, but I am SO READY for him to get back to school again. The kid needs a routine and we’re running out of things to keep him occupied all day. DS2 has been a crab at night, and I suspect it’s molars. That chart cythe posted in last week’s thread is so on point!!

We are back in our routine and have settled into a really good routine since going back to work. My husband is now taking care of things without me nagging when I work on weekends. It’s nice to not to have to be that grumpy wife.
DD2 is teething too and become a picky eater. I don’t like it. I do like it that she is listening to instructions and following them. I told her we were going for a bath and she started walking away and lifting up her shirt. It was so cute.

DS ate supper last njght! Well, kinda. He has oatmeal and cheese and fruit with his pouch. The rest of us were ordering tacos and it was coming too late for him to eat. I’m just happy he ate real food. And then he slept! I feel more human today!
DD goes back to preschool today and I need to do a couple loads of laundry. Otherwise it’s a pretty laid back day

August Blooms, about a week ago I realized LO knew what I saying. Now when I tell him it is time to change his diaper, he runs down the hall to his bedroom (even though he yells at me and kicks and twists all over during the diaper change). When I ask him "Where is your cup?" he goes to get it/look for it. He also started signing 'more' for things not related to eating, lol.

I'm hoping we can get back to normal. M was diagnosed with RSV and a double ear infection last week. Poor kid. Her antibiotic for the ear infections is just once a day so that's good. She does the neb a couple times a day as well. I think i'm getting sick now too. Sooo drained. She is definitely feeling better though. Everyone is back to work/daycare so i am hoping for no more sickness!

I am super congested today and can’t hear well out of my left ear 😳 **sprays Lysol everywhere**
I have also decided to do ikea today after I pick DD up from preschool so I can stay home tomorrow. I may regret that decision later, we shall see

DS2 can understand “nite nite” and will (fake) cry whenever I ask if he’s ready for it. He also thinks “no” means do it more.

The girls practically ran into daycare this morning. They were more than ready to be out of the house and with others. I felt good all day but was dragging by the end. I hope I’m on the tail it as much appetite has slowly returned. Voice is still sore but talking all day didn’t help.
LO is randomly nursing right now at like 5:00pm. She crawled onto my nap and tugged at my shirt and laid down. DD1 never did that but I’m ok with her asking right now. We can establish “rules” later if this becomes an issue but it’s nice to have my “baby” right now.

August Blooms DD2 is getting better at following directions too! She loves to “take things places” like taking a book to DD1 or the remote to H or throw trash away or whatever. I could just use a little more expressive language from her now too! codex320 and doodlemommy I hope neither of you get anything and whatever feels off passes quickly! Mommas don’t have any time to be sick!

My baby also understands quite a bit now too! When I say it’s bath time, he will start walking to his room and help get his clothes off. I ask if he wants milk, and he’ll either shake his head no, or get in nursing position. Too cute!!

Working from home today because the baby got sent home with a rash. Dr said it was nothing but didn’t clear him til tomorrow. I threw some Cheerios at him so I can do some work early.
H fell asleep on the couch last night so I didn’t wake him and quietly snuck into bed alone. And it was glorious to have it all to myself.

curmudgeon Not going to lie we have a Queen size bed and I enjoy the nights H sleeps on the couch. Now if the 3 year old would stop climbing in our bed it would be the best.

I have the next few days off, the cleaning people were showing up when I was leaving to drop the girls off at daycare and dinner is planned since it’s going to be taco night. I’ve got my Starbucks and need to make a hair appointment... it’s unseasonably warm and I feel like I should take advantage some how but I mostly just want to nap.

7:30 am, on the elliptical while the kids eat breakfast picnic style in the basement (DH is at the dentist getting a root canal). I have already changed the sheets on all beds and started the laundry. My mom and MIL are coming this morning to finish the babysitting calendar through the rest of the school year and then my SIL is coming to do the family event/birthday calendar for DH’s family (we do one event a month because there are so many people). I also need to dust, clean bathrooms, do diaper laundry and bake muffins. Whew.

My kid understands me just fine, he just chooses not to listen 🙄 If i tell him no/stop He will stop, look at me, smile/laugh, and continue to do the exact thing he isn’t supposed to. He does like taking things to people or putting things in the garbage/away so in those instances he listens lol

A few weeks ago he grabbed a coffee ground soaked paper towel and right into the mouth before I had time to even think.

She also so enjoys throwing things away we have to watch careful because the trash has extra things sometimes 🤦♀️

DD1 started swim lessons tonight and she was so very, very excited. We’ve done “mommy-and-me” type classes before but she’s old enough to be solo now. It’s at a weird time for us on the early evening and so I feel all out sorts now because there was no routine of coming hom, dinner, cleanup bed. I need to think this out before we go again Thursday.
It’s supposed to get a lot colder here tomorrow and I am not excited. We’ve been enjoying some 40-59 degrees and sun. Tomorrow is a high of mid20s or something. Yuck ❄️

Probably needed a spoiler but I don't know how to do that on mobile.
Sorry to those whose eyes were offended. To creepy not to share.

codex320’s post reminded me I have a set of face masks on my amazon wait cart! I’m going to try a variety pack just to see. I’m pretty sure they are not like the pic though. 😬 Goals for 2019 are to take better care of myself... in whatever form that looks like at the time. Face masks feel like things I can do after the girls go to bed and require zero extra effort from me - which is about all the self care I can manage currently during H’s basketball season. I also really need to start drinking more water 💦 which goes great for a day but then not so much the next day or two (or three)

Is it Friday yet? Longest week ever.
My BFF checked into the hospital last night for an induction. She had wanted a med free natural delivery and the induction isn't going well. I feel so bad for her.

Aww CoachTsWife sending good thoughts to your friend that her induction gets easier and the birth is uneventful.

First day back at work today, I have been off since noon on dec 21 😬 Needless to say drop off for both kids was not great (sorry DH) but they were fine after that. It was a pretty light day for me which was nice...thank you to December me for arranging my schedule to allow for lots of coffee breaks and chatting with my coworkers today, nice to ease back in

Also my mom makes supper for us on Wednesdays which I pick up when I get the kids from her house. It was extra nice today because my house looked like a bomb went off, DH and the kids clearly were out of routine and destroyed the place after I left for work 🤣 All is cleaned up and back to normal now so I can relax

I sent the baby to daycare and kept the DD1 home with me. She feels so special when we have a day with just the 2 of us. We did some errands, visited my mom and went to the library and she had a great time.
So my MIL strikes again... she just got diagnosed with giardia lamblia which she could have spread to us during her visit. Totally easy to deal with if we do have it but I really don’t like to hear that we may have been contaminated with a parasite. SIL did a great job explaining it because I was under the impression that my MIL was starting up with her denial that celiac disease doesn’t exist again and I was not ready for that nonsense.
