tbirdlove you can't catch a break with dd's poop! I agree with Nymeria, usually we have blow outs from when she's sitting in certain positions. Hopefully you can figure out something soon, diaper blow outs are so shitty (pun intended ☺️)

Nymeria a poop in the carseat is pretty much guaranteed to blow out. Occasionally I'll have a smaller poo at home that stays in. I guess she's usually in some sort of reclined/seated position for pooping. But if that's how she's comfortable to do a poop, I'm not sure how to get around that! Haha!

Hopefully once you get to giving her some solids that will help. Sadly I'm out of suggestions for what to do right now unfortunately.

We've been in Leap 4 since the end of December and the past few days are really the first times I've seen some clingy leap behavior from her. We should finish up the leap in about 10 days. Not too bad. She had her four month appt today and all checked out well!

I forgot about this! I saved this when DS was a baby! . . . Awake Training for Parents:
Dear Fellow Babies,
OK, here’s my situation. My mom has had me for almost 5 months. The first few months were great – I cried, she picked me up and fed me, anytime, around the clock. Then something happened. Over the last few weeks, she has been trying to STTN (sleep thru the night). At first, I thought it was just a phase, but it is only getting worse.
I’ve talked to other babies, and it seems like its pretty common after moms have had us for around 5-6 months. Here’s the thing: these Mommies don’t really need to sleep. It’s just a habit. Many of them have had some 30 years to sleep – they just don’t need it anymore. So I am implementing a plan. I call it the Crybaby Shuffle.
It goes like this:
Night 1 – cry every 3 hours until you get fed. I know, it’s hard. It’s hard to see your Mommy upset over your crying. Just keep reminding yourself, it’s for her own good.
Night 2 – cry every 2 hours until you get fed.
Night 3 – every hour.
Most Mommies will start to respond more quickly after about 3 nights. Some Mommies are more alert, and may resist the change longer. These Mommies may stand in your doorway for hours, shhhh-ing. Don’t give in. I cannot stress this enough: CONSISTENCY IS KEY!! If you let her STTN (sleep through the night), just once, she will expect it every night. I know it’s hard! But she really does not need the sleep; she is just resisting the change.. If you have an especially alert Mommy, you can stop crying for about 10 minutes, just long enough for her to go back to bed and start to fall asleep. Then cry again. It WILL eventually work. My Mommy once stayed awake for 10 hours straight, so I know she can do it.
The other night, I cried every hour. You just have to decide to stick to it and just go for it. BE CONSISTENT! I cried for any reason I could come up with:
-My sleep sack tickled my foot. -I felt a wrinkle under the sheet. -My mobile made a shadow on the wall. -I burped, and it tasted like rice cereal. I hadn’t eaten rice cereal since breakfast, what’s up with that? -The dog said “ruff”. I should know. My Mommy reminds me of this about 20 times a day. LOL. -Once I cried just because I liked how it sounded when it echoed on the monitor in the other room. -Too hot, too cold, just right – doesn’t matter! Keep crying!! -I had drooled so much my sheets were damp and I didn’t like it touching me. -I decided I was sick of all the pink in my room so I cried.
It took awhile, but it worked. She fed me at 4am. Tomorrow night, my goal is 3:30am. You need to slowly shorten the interval between feedings in order to reset your Mommies’ internal clocks.
Sometimes my Mommy will call for reinforcements by sending in Daddy. Don’t worry Daddies are not set up for not needing sleep the way Mommies are. They can only handle a few pats and shhing before they declare defeat and send in the Mommy.
Also, be wary of the sleep sheep with rain noises. I like to give Mommy false hope that listening to the rain puts me to sleep sometimes I pretend to close my eyes and be asleep and then wait until I know Mommy is settling back to sleep to spring a surprise cry attack. If she doesn’t get to me fast enough I follow up with my fake cough and gag noise that always has her running to the crib. At some point I am positive she will start to realize that she really doesn’t really need sleep.
P.S. Don’t let those rubber things fool you, no matter how long you suck on them, no milk will come out.
Trust me.
Sincerely, Baby J

Omg I’m exhausted going back to work. I feel like I’m either fighting a 3 year old, teaching, or holding an overtired baby everyday on repeat.
But at the same time I really like the purpose of being back at work. We just need to settle into a routine, someday. The H is going to Hawaii (I don’t feel bad for him) next week for work. So it’s just going to be me.......

akwild I'm sorry it's been tough getting back to work. I hope things settle soon and you find your new routine. And fx for a smooth week without your H - that sounds so tough 😞

DD is had some difficulty getting back to sleep at her wakeup. At first she just seemed like she was happily awake and wanted to hang out, but then she got more fussy about it. She had her shots today so I checked her temp - it was 99.7. I got her back to sleep, but now I'm laying here awake wondering if I should have given her a little Tylenol if she was uncomfortable 😟

I'm in teething hell right now, I think. This kid is soooo fussy. He's clearly in pain. All day and night fussing. He even let out some pain screams last night in his sleep. He was tossing and turning and let out these really sad screams. Not even cries. Poor guy.

Really hoping they pop through soon.

Sleep is killing me, too! We transitioned C back to sleeping in the crib after we had him in the RnP at night for a few weeks because of being sick (he had RSV at the end of December). He was doing great and we even ditched the swaddle, and now the past few nights it's all downhill. He'll start the night in the crib and then ends up sleeping in bed with me (I sleep in a bed in the nursery) because every time I put him back in the crib he wakes up. I nurse him lying down because I have fast letdown and it seems easier on him and he falls right asleep. He just really wants to sleep next to me, except it means I sleep super lightly because I'm worried I'll squash him. The other problem is, I used to be able to sneak out in the morning and go to work (J stays at home with the kids), but now when I get up, I have to move him and then he's up for the day. Thankfully DD hasn't been climbing into bed with me the past few nights, that would be even worse.

Dramaphile we went through the same thing with phases of DD not being able to be put down at night. I ended up bedsharing with her too to get through it. It corresponded with the leaps for us. I hope it passes soon!

tbirdlove he's definitely going through some major development, he's been trying to roll over for the past few days and recently discovered his hands.

After a week+ of not being able to put DS2 down I gave up on the PNP a couple nights ago and tried the RNP. He stayed asleep when I put him down in that so he did his first stretches in the RNP for a few nights before waking up to eat and sleeping with me the rest of the night. I was hoping it was a good sign so I tried the PNP first again last night...it did not work.
Not to mention DS1 kept waking up last night too. Soooo much coffee today.

We had a couple weeks of really good sleep, but the last two nights have been difficult after the first wake up. I'm still attributing it to some moodiness and not feeling well after her shots Wed and a day out and about yesterday. She's wound up in my bed the last two nights. Last night she still couldn't settle very well even with me. She's napping well today, so we'll see what tonight brings!

DD is napping peacefully and I'm having to sit across the hall from DS waiting for him to fall asleep or else he whines 😒 It is such a waste of precious double nap time!

Both girls have slept pretty good the last few nights 😃
Since starting solids now dd1 is trying to share all of her food with dd2. I can't turn my back for a second or else dd1 is trying to put macaroni in dd2's mouth.

I've had back problems since high school and this morning when I put DD back in her crib my back seized up. I can hardly move without being in pretty intense pain. Having to carry kids today was extremely difficult. I'm glad it's almost the weekend and DH can do all the kids carrying this weekend.
