Chase only had 1 real accident today! He had a second change, but that was for not standing still at the potty and getting some on his pants. I'm psyched!!
Also the Dial soap, thinner pajamas, and a lighter blanket seem to be doing the trick with Colin and the BO issue. Thank goodness!!

I think I'm just going to focus on one thing at a time. This weekend will be the bookshelves in the living room, which are over flowing. Next weekend, the pantry, and so on.

Great! ::Mental note for next year:: mail vino’s card the day after Thanksgiving. Allow me to be the motivation to be on top of Christmas cards 😉 Your welcome. I mailed yours on the 10th. I don’t get it.

The biggest thing I found helpful with reading her book was that you focus on one thing at a time. All of your clothes. So literally every clothing item you own in one big pile and sort through it. All coats closets, clothes in bins for next season, make sure everything is clean so you have literally everything in one spot. It's over whelming at first but it really makes sense.

She def encourages tackling one thing at a time. She recommends clothes, books, komono and sentimental last. (I think I missed one in there). Komono is kitchen, pantry, everything else. I am going to watch some in a bit. I also just followed some 30 day cleaning purge on IG @simplified. They sell planners but I will follow along.

S is all signed up for preschool next year. I figured there would be a wait so I didn’t show up until 6:20 and they had already passed my number. I got to go right up and was out of there in less than 5 minutes. The class I wanted was still available so she will be going MWF.
I would love to be more organized but part of the problem is that we need more storage pieces/closets. When the basement is finished it should be much better.

28 days seem soooooo long. Putting this on my list so I can be inspired and motivated. I think what makes her process effective is that it does take time and there is thought put into it. Tlex had a great 2018 Kon Mari thread on GD last year, it’s great motivation to read others successes and progress. I did follow that thread. Maybe I should go back and read it again. As much as I wanted to start last year, it just wasn’t a good time. ETA: I did read the book during the holidays before I had M2 and planned to start then, but more work happened and that was it. It’s been a distant memory ever since. 🤦🏽♀️

It’s been really eye opening seeing all of the same category laid out.

Me: Hey, remember that lady Marie Kondo i’ve talked about before? She does the Kon Mari method? MH: Yes. Me: Well she has a Netflix show and I’M OBSESSED. MH: Kids, lock up your stuff, Mom’s going on a rampage
Everyone’s just a barrel of laughs over here 😐

DH came home today and I was watching the Marie Kondo show. He was intrigued and sat down to watch with me. I might even get him to go through his drawers!
I think what is so interesting to me about the show (or at least the handful of episodes I watched) is how much the households and relationships change (seemingly for the better) as progress is made.

You guys. I was talking with someone at a school i work at and she mentioned a job at the middle school. Bada boom bada bing. Next thing you know I’ve applied and got an interview this Friday. The hours are basically the same as O’s school. I thought that was a sign. The pay i think is more than I’m making now plus the summer off (i currently don’t get the summer off). I heard the school is a bit crazy but it would be a foot in the door to the district. Anyway, I’m nervous and scared. I’d be totally f&@king my current place over though. I’m totally not trying to brag here, but they’ll be screwed without me. They recently lost the mean woman who made my life miserable (i was so happy), and the funder really likes me and i could see her pulling the plug after this year if i bail. But i literally do everything: payroll, hiring and onboarding, health care, company insurances, budget, grant writing, curriculum writing, people management, program management, tech support, etc. Anyway, I’m not trying to get ahead of myself here but I’m already feeling guilty about the interview that’s set up. Pdq

Hello! Dh goes back to work tomorrow, but the boys don’t go back until Monday: but today felt like the last official day of vacation so we took the boys to Dave and busters and then went and had lunch. We got the Christmas tree down and all the decor is packed up and in the garage. I still need to do about a million loads of laundry and clean the house, but it’s feeling more out together.
Re: Maria Kondo, I’d be interested to watch the show. I’m actually pretty good about purging stuff, I just need to sit down and do it. Dh is awful about it though and finds sentimental value in everything.honestly, the things I have the hardest time purging are the boxes of shit my parents saved from my childhood. I feel bad that they’ve held onto it for 30 years just for me to toss it.
And I admit that I have several “mini skirts” from my college days in my closet that I haven’t been able to part with. One day they may be in style again AND I may be able to fit into them!!
