Morning! Back at work after the 4 day weekend. This morning was hard!
Today my work BFF quit, which is terrible for me personally, and awful for the company in so many ways. She is taking another employee with her which complicates business matters tremendously.
So it's a rough day today

Morning.
I'm at work as well. MH is still off so he took the kids to daycare this morning so I just had to get myself ready, it was delightful.
Yesterday was busy, I cleaned the whole house and although it looks bare in there without the Christmas stuff everywhere I am liking the fresh look. We've purged a lot of shit from the house and MH was making sure that it all got dropped off today. Good way to start the new year!
In the spring we're getting a Costco shed, and I'm so excited to get all the summer shit out of my storage area downstairs. I'm trying to make this house work for us, but of course there's the near perfect house near us for sale. I'm drooling....

I'm sorry jewels , did you know that they were quitting? Is the plan to fill the position or just move work around? honestly, I did know. Even though I "officially" shouldn't have (she's one of our most valuable people - brings in a lot of business and a real asset in many other ways, and she's going to a competitor). But she's also like a sister to me. So she told me and I have been lying all day saying I didn't know. We have to fill the positions. She brings in about 15% of our company's income, and manages a ton more than that. And the person she brought with her was the sole person doing the job he was doing. It's going to take a long time to find someone appropriate to fill their shoes. |

Ours isn't quite that bad here, and I think we're going to move forward with putting B at the public school next year (he's adamant that that's what he wants to do), so I only have to worry about C this year, I guess. |

i didn't get to sleep until 430am so i turned off my alarm. E has been sleeping until almost 8 (unicorn vacation kid) so when he woke at 745 we rushed to get ready and out of the house. I knew it would happen that way but i needed the sleep. He told me it was ok that we had to rush because he wanted to see his friends quickly. He was a little disappointed yesterday because he thought for a brief period that he was going to kindergarten after the break.

I need Marie Kondo to come to my house and do it all for me. This. It feels like I’ve been trying to purge and organize for weeks. I wish I had a few days to myself to knock it all out because the little by little is killing me, but I don’t have that time right now. I’ll do my best in this house for now and really try to start fresh in our next house this summer. But must purge as much as possible now because I am not moving all this shit to the next house. We got rid of SO MUCH stuff when we moved 4 years ago. We really need to do a big purge again. |

C started the new year by only waking up at 10:30 and 5:45 and then sleeping until 7:30! There was a time in my life when that was a bad night but right now it’s amazing! Fingers crossed I will have him fully weaned in 2 weeks (it is my deal with DH for me to go away overnight for my sister’s 40th). I just had T and C home today so we went to lunch, did some returns, then did T’s dentist appointment.

DH got me the Broadway tickets I wanted for Christmas and got a babysitter but on a day DD has a competition out of state. He just texted me that he listed them for sale but we will lose money on them if they even sell. I suggested he take DD to the meet and I take a friend to the play. I know if I don’t go now, we never will.

Hi from the office! I'd say the glorious office, but I honestly enjoyed the extra time over the holidays, vomit aside.
Anyhow Chase did NOT throw up last night and Colin woke up dry and happy, so it was a pretty pleasant morning considering it was back to the grind. Then a former coworker and friend just started a new position here today, which is fun. Then my manager decided to share some review info ahead of time and let me know that he's pushing for a raise and annual increase. No clue if that'll happen, but it's nice to know.
Not a bad start to the year, but it's a bit too early to call, LOL.

I mean that part is a little much for sure, but it is about being mindful about the things that you do have around you. Taking the initial time to look at every item makes you more aware of what you have and thinking about each piece as opposed to just being surrounded by stuff, which may be meaningless. |
