k, Hahaha that's wonderful. You know, music and laboring in a tub was not the zen-inducing loveliness I thought it would be when I used them during my labor with DS1. Like, I guess H thought it would help me if he sang to me to help keep me calm and focused and I don't even remember him singing at all. And the tub? The water was nice and warm but I just couldn't find a good position that felt relaxing to me (turns out, that was probably the back labor issue). And then there just wasn't time to think about anything with DS2 so there you go. notagoddess, I have so much to do. Literally, everything. We bought paint for the kids' room and we're going to start that project today and hopefully have it all done before the weekend hits. And then I need to do all the freezer meals, although I'm proud of having at least some of the groceries handled already Lol I went through some clothes we were given from a coworker and I need to wash all the new baby laundry, car seat cover, swing stuff, etc. I also plan on having the car seat bases installed and car seats swapped around in the cars tonight. I need a better to-do list to organize myself....

I feel like I'm at my wits end with my boys. DS1 has such an awful, teenage attitude when he isn't getting his way lately and I'm so tired of it. DS2 is in the throws of the terrible twos; his mood changes faster than a mood ring, his tantrums are absurd and more frequent, and we cannot get him to stop punching things/people! He isn't even hitting out of anger or frustration most of the time. It's like he has decided it's an acceptable way to interact with everyone around him, like a handshake but with fists.
I came home so done with DS1 that he got sent to his room for down time and H just looked at me and told me to take a bath, that he'd cook.

Itβs been a crazy couple days here.
Monday afternoon I started having the chills even though I didnβt feel feverish. Then late at night I started having intense pain in my lower abdomen; I couldnβt sleep through it and it wouldnβt go away with position changes or rubbing or walking. Finally I called and the on-call doctor told me I should come in to get checked out.
Thankfully my family was still in town so my mom came to sleep over while DH and I took LO into the city to the hospital. The pain had stopped by the time we got there but we still ended up being there all night and didnβt get home until 7 am. Iβm okayβthey think itβs a UTI and nothing life-threatening, so thatβs good obviously!
Big downside was that neither H nor I got more than 2 hours of sleep. Yesterday we hosted LOβs bris in the morning and I was a hot hormonal mess, just super exhausted and emotional. I cried most of the day about the circumcision and couldnβt bear to put him down.
This story has a happy ending though because we had a great night, and I got to sleep from about 10-12:45 and then from 1:40-5:50! My boobs are unhappy lol but Iβm feeling so much better.
These hormones are something else. Somehow I avoided the crazy after I had DD but all of this now is bringing me right back to 4 years ago when DS1 was a newborn. Thankfully DH has been very supportive; I think he learned a lot from that first experience.

dashook I'm glad you got through such a challenging time and even caught up a little sleep! I'm happy that YH knows how to be a better support this time around too. Hope the uti pain is gone for good.

dashook thatβs so scary Iβm glad everything checked out okay for you!! I canβt imagine all the emotions after having a baby. Hugs! k me too! Iβve been practically bathing in cocoa butter every night! Iβm 37 weeks today and the only stretch marks I have are on my butt (wtf). Iβm waiting for them to all pop up any day now like hahahaha you thought you could escape but here we are! I have a sore throat today too. Iβm so worried Iβll get sick and go into labor and have to deliver with a sore throat and runny nose. I was going to take some emergence stuff but it says to ask your doctor if youβre pregnant. Has anyone been given the okay to take it?

strawberrykiki, I don't know about Emergen-C but my OB gave me the ok on plain Sudafed, Mucinex and Flonase. I hope you're healthy for delivery! I'm also dealing with a cold that my kid has had for weeks now, and I'm very wary of giving birth while sick.

I am really crampy today. I don't know if it's baby's movements or Braxton-Hicks. It's so distracting at work!

dashook oh my! Hope the pain doesnβt come back. strawberrykiki I donβt think the vitamin levels in emergen-c are safe for pregnancy.

strawberrykiki I think it was my full panel work pants that were making me super itchy bc today Iβm wearing under the bump leggings and not itchy at all. I guess that means I canβt wear real pants anymore. Too bad π€·π»ββοΈ.

hrh, Thank you for that! I'll have to look into those books. Kid LOVES books so maybe that will be more helpful! DS1 and I had a chat last night that he needs to cut back on engaging DS2 when the toddler wants to play fight because of excitement or anger; that they can still wrestle but H needs to be present so that hopefully DS2 will catch on that if dad is involved, it's ok but if he's not, we play differently. I don't think that's something he can figure out when it's just him and DS1 since he plays with a lot of kids DS1's size.

I'm suddenly feeling huge and extra uncomfortable. My skin feels so tight and everything just kind of hurts. Work has been busy and I come home exhausted. One more work day this week. Then only 8 more shifts until I'm on maternity leave. Trying to take it one day at a time. I'm thankful for everyday baby girl keeps growing but I'm also really ready for her to be here.

hrh thanks, I want to look into those books too! Being 2 is hard. DS2 resorts to throwing anything and everything around him when he gets mad.

hrh Looks like Iβm ordering a few books this morning! Add DS to the challenging kiddo club. Iβm enjoying this age so much - I love seeing his little personality blossom, and his sentences have become so clear recently. But good lord, heβs been having some moments. The screaming and the βNOβ business has really ramped up as of late, as has some hitting. Between a new babe incoming and the neverending process of PTing, poor kid probably has a lot to manage in his brain right now.

+1 to challenging kiddos. DD may be trying to break me right now. So many tantrums, so much screaming and bad behavior. It has me freaking out about adding another.

I had a belly check this morning and baby is still breech. I asked about c-section recovery (see: difficult toddler requiring lifting) and the OB said I'd only be restricted from lifting her for a couple of weeks. He said it's usually not that big of a deal. Has anyone had both a vaginal birth and a c-section? How do they compare? I'm feeling very new facing an unknown this time around, assuming baby doesn't flip.

k, I'm jealous. Under the bump pants don't work for me at all. I'm constantly tugging up on them to keep them from sliding off. I have a pair of jeans and a pair of leggings and had to stop wearing them around 27 weeks They were so comfy!

I have had both and am happy to answer any questions you have or talk about it. My C-section was first. Because of my recovery experience and having a two year old having a VBAC was important to me with DD2. For me personally, I greatly preferred my VBAC recovery. Is an external version an option your OB is willing to try?

Because of my recovery experience and having a two year old having a VBAC was important to me with DD2. For me personally, I greatly preferred my VBAC recovery. Is an external version an option your OB is willing to try? Yes, he's going to perform a version after 37w if baby is still breech then (which I think she will be, she seems very comfortable and isn't flipping around). He said they have about a 50% success rate, so this may all be moot and I'll have a similar birth experience as the first time around. But I do want to mentally prepare, mostly because I will also have a 2-year old home with me. I also don't want another scar on my body. I felt like my recovery with my vaginal birth wasn't that easy. I bled for 8 weeks, I had pain from the episiotomy incision until then, I had pretty bad incontinence and hemorrhoids the first weeks/months. But those complaints were localized to the pelvic floor region and overall I felt great. I'm imagining the c-section experience is the opposite? Like the vag is spared, but overall it's harder because you feel worse from having surgery?
