This does not make me feel good about Liz: Why? Weren't you just essentially saying the same thing earlier in this thread? Because #1 Warren never defended or stood up for Kamala one day in this campaign. She laughed at her in a debate and never defended her when people attacked her unfairly. So now Warren is sad that Kamala isn’t in the race because she’s such an intersectional feminist? Nah. #2 Warren and Bernie are also responsible with their phony “I’m not going to take PAC money and neither should anyone else” routine that is hurting candidates that don’t have the resources they do And #3 because me saying that Bloomberg and Steyer hurt Kamala’s campaign in this thread is not remotely the same as fundraising off it less than 24 hours after a candidate drops out. Please.

I’m a Liz fan and I think the Pressley endorsement is meaningful. Liz has never been a street fighter/activist but her wonky work fighting bad banking practices and creating the CFPB was very beneficial to POC even though she doesn’t frame it that way and for good reason. She was caught flat-footed by the charter demonstration in Atlanta but I don’t think ppl saw that coming so it was a bit of a shock in general.

I definitely don't have any answers, but I read all of Astead's articles and this one did make me pause. We are just desperate to see Trump go so it is producing conservative behavior, especially from the elders. This season is all about defensive voting, not falling in love with a candidate. Trump has reminded us that racism wins and we aren’t taking chances.

I have been laid up with a stomach bug and am catching up today.
I'm sorry so many of you are hurting with the news of Kamala stepping out. I will miss her voice in the race.

I wouldn't be able to post at all if I limited it to only nice things.

I considered putting this up for a bit so as not to make me more sad, but decided that instead I will use it to keep me focused. Also her picture is staying on my wall for the foreseeable future. I am also now in the 'undecided' section of who I support for the candidacy. Feels weird.

I wouldn't be able to post at all if I limited it to only nice things. I’m just moving through grief stages. Yesterday I was wanting to talk about it, today I’m processing/ reading/ reflecting. I’m also really angry so I have to be mindful of that. I knew it would be an uphill battle for her but I thought for sure we would at least have her in the race through the early voting stages so I am more shocked than anything. I will be back to my normal critiques and extreme vetting in a bit. I’m still committed to not letting anything slide this cycle. The stakes are too high. I can’t sort out my feelings on Warren and Biden right now with respect to what is real criticism of them vs being angry that Kamala’s campaign, which I truly feel was stronger in message and content than either of theirs, is unable to continue. For people like Pete, Tulsi, Steyer, Bloomberg I will never have anything nice to say and I’m never voting for them so I’ll keep on keeping on.

The latest PAC ad on behalf of Cory Booker is super-snarky about Mayor Pete.

The latest PAC ad on behalf of Cory Booker is super-snarky about Mayor Pete. I know this is being framed as anti-Pete but, to me, it's not really about Pete, it is more about the erasure of Booker. It's fair for Booker to question why everyone talks about Pete's Rhodes Scholarship but never his own.

"Joe Biden: 'Of course' I would consider Kamala Harris as VP pick" "Of course I would," Biden said. "Look, Sen. Harris has the capacity to be anything she wants to be. I mean it sincerely. I talked to her yesterday. She's solid, she can be president someday herself, she can be vice president, she could go on to be a Supreme Court justice, she could be attorney general. I mean she has enormous capability." amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/12/04/politics/joe-biden-kamala-harris-vp-pick/index.html

Just saw the video of the crazy protester at a Pete event--it was literally a white guy in a BLM tee shirt yanking the microphone out of a black woman's hands while she was trying to speak.
