Joe is really not looking good: theslot.jezebel.com/heather-heyers-mother-had-no-idea-her-daughter-would-be-1834326929Apparently he never contacted Heather Hayer’s family about including her death in his campaign video. He called her mother 12 hours after it dropped. “I think he said something about ‘I would have reached out sooner, but I wasn’t sure how you’d feel,’” Bro said. “And I commented, ‘Yes, I noticed you didn’t mention her name, because you didn’t contact me.’ So we sort of acknowledged that much.” — Susan Bro, Hayer’s mother Wow. Wasn’t sure how she’d feel, so he didn’t bother finding out. Between this and the N over Obama, Joe is quickly moving from nice but clueless to entitled asshole category for me. I feel like every single aspect of this rollout has been bungled. It's amateur hour over there.

Y'all I'm watching some of Elizabeth Warren on She the People and she had them in the palm of her hand. She was electrifying and told a story that was so genuine and powerful. I'm going to get H to watch it. He likes her policies but doesn't think she has much charisma. This is the clip.

Biden getting in and being declared the front runner by the media seems like the tipping point that will make 45's re-election go from close to an easy slide into a second term.
Admittedly, I'm in a really dark place about all of the things right now.
Am I too chicken little about this?

Admittedly, I'm in a really dark place about all of the things right now. Am I too chicken little about this? I don't know. A lot of my friends who couldn't bring themselves to vote for either HRC or 45 seem to be really excited about Biden. That said, the Bros are coming hard for Biden for being a corporate shill just like they did for HRC.

I don't believe Joe Biden will be the front runner a few months from now.

Biden wouldn't be the frontrunner if the media wasn't doing Biden 24/7.
From the very little news I watched this weekend (and this morning) its been Biden Biden Bernie 10 mins of Amy on MTP, and Elizabeths response to Biden and his fundraiser. So out of 20 Candidates, FOUR of them got mentioned (Pete may have had a nod being in 3rd)on major tv outlets.
its starting to feel like 2016 all over.

WAPO ABC Poll
54 No specific contender
13 Biden
9 Bernie
5 Pete
4 Kamala
Over half of dem voters do not have a candidate picked yet.
Biden only has 13% if it were held today. We're a year out from primaries. So while it SEEMS as if he's the anointed one at this time, he ain't.
This is my thought of the day.

I agree that Biden is only where he is because he's getting all the media attention. I will vote for him if he wins the primary, but he's done at the bottom of the list with Bernie and Gabbard on who I want to vote for (he is ahead of them, but still not that high up)

Maybe this has been covered, but how does Bernie have so many unique contributions (500k vs 100k for others)? Is there some loophole in his way of counting?

Watching TV so no link, but according to a Monmouth Uni poll 2% of them support Pete, 28% Biden, 27% Bernie....no other candidates mentioned.

I've gotten like 3 emails today from Biden alone. (I'm sure it's from when I subscribed to Obama.) I may unsubscribe, that's just ridiculous.

MSNBC covered his rally live this afternoon. Have they done that for other candidates this year? Sorry I just feel like the media are really throwing their weight behind Biden which they did with Trump

I haven't really seen anyone talking about the other benefits of Senator Warren's debt relief plan. Wouldn't it provide similar benefits as the Bush tax cuts without the shortsighted stupidity? Relieving crippling debt for millions of Americans would, I suspect, result in an infusion of capital into the consumer economy. People would upgrade their old beat up cars, replace their fridge, buy that nice TV they've been eyeing. Millenials might buy houses! They might even represent a demand for :gasp: affordable housing instead of luxury condos! And we would need construction workers to build those houses! Suddenly you've got economic growth and job creation!
What am I missing here?

Her policy initiatives aren’t getting the in depth coverage they deserve because the media is too busy covering the Bernie-Biden pissing match.

The higher ed policy world is talking about the Warren student debt plan. Urban and Brookings did analyses last week.
The major problem is that it is a regressive plan that would provide greater benefits to those that need it the least. The average student loan debt for an under grad degree is ~ $30k. Those with the most amount of debt on average TEND to be those that went to graduate school, and thus have a higher earning potential. Those that took on the least amount of debt TEND to be those that dropped out.
And setting the income cap at $100k (and going all the way up to $250k for partial relief) is going to benefit people living very comfortable lifestyles in LCOL areas.
A better targeted plan would be one that focused on: those in default, non-completers, those that went to for-profit schools, and borrowers of color.

I'm catching up on the Pod and Cornell Belcher just told Jon that the horse rave polling we see right now has basically no bearing on what polling will show in a few months.
That made me feel a lot better bc I am not pleased by the current horse race polling.
