Let’s talk announcements and polling and speculate here so people who aren’t into it can skip
Julian Castro Elizabeth Warren
There are some more unknowns but I’m not listing those yet

I’m expecting Kamala Harris to announce any second now. I’m going to her book tour in mid Jan and I feel like she will announce before that starts.

Besides Sanders and Biden, I’m trying to keep an open mind about everyone. I hope there is informative debate and no one is declared a front runner before we here all the choices. I think we need more 2008 lead up and less 2016 lead up.

I'm not thrilled with Warren but she's definitely better than Cheeto. I'm holding out for Harris. I'll probably phone or text bank for her

I really hate how he’s built his national brand by vilifying all of the Democratic politicians as working for corporate interests/the man. But I will still vote for him over the Cheeto.

Hello! I haven't been on this board in forever, there's been too much for me to keep up with, but I'm totally here for 2020 candidate talk. My friend texted me the Warren news a little bit ago and she's pumped. The only potential candidate I've 100% ruled out is Bernie, but like Minerva, I'll vote for him if he wins the primary. Fuck, I'll vote for a moldy paper bag over Trump.

He’s just so...smug. I appreciate a lot about him, but he’s not a candidate for all. He’s just not. But best believe, if it’s him, I’ll enthusiastically check that box. The thought of 4 more years of the orange one gives me heart palpitations.

I'd vote for Bernie if he wins the primary and is the alternative to Trump, but I have this feeling in the back of my mind that 45/Repubs have a lot of dirt filed away on Bernie, and didn't use it in 2016 because they didn't need to.

I will be closely following the black women polling. I will be very skeptical of a candidate that doesn’t win over that contingent.
Also, I do like Shaun King’s thought to follow who the candidates hire as part of their campaign team - the ideal candidate should hire a diverse staff. Otherwise they are talking the talk and not walking the walk.

This is a very good point. I think he’s got some skeletons. And of course they will be the biggest deal ever even if they are less than 45s. 🙄

I’m going to be a hard pass on Warren. TBH, I’ve had a bad taste in my mouth about her since releasing that DNA test and video. 🤷♀️

My enthusiasm on warren has greatly waned since the DNA thing. It’s a shame because she is so smart regarding the economy.
I’m all in for Kamala Harris. Beto in second.

I feel like we should at some point discuss who would you NOT vote for over 45. It would be interesting.

I was thinking more along the lines of the moldy lunchbag, pond scum, ocean bottom feeders.... I mean we could do yours but it sounds more depressing.

I would honestly vote for a hagfish over Donald. And those creatures really are the things of nightmares.

I saw something about sexual harassment during his 2016 campaign on Twitter last night. I didn't read more into though because I've been in a sleepless, my children are up all hours of the night fog for a couple of days now. And the information wouldn't have stuck in my brain at 3am

This is exactly what I think. Nobody did hard work on oppo against Bernie so this, "He would have beat Trump" narrative isn't one I think can be entertained with any seriousness

I would get behind Biden IF he runs for a single term and has someone like Kamala as VEEP with the understanding that she becomes the presumptive nominee in 2024

I'm very much team Kamala. I think CA moving its primary to Super Tuesday could help her. I hope, though, that she will get someone like a governor from a swing state or a Sherrod Brown for a running mate bc I think it will help reassure the Obama/Trump voters
