Going to my brothers for new years eve. Hoping the boys behave so I can play poker. Dh is feeling better after sleeping all day but still not great so we're driving separately so he can ditch if he feels bad. He probably won't be much help with the boys and I want to play poker damn it.

Same here. My dad always does collards and black-eyed peas. I'm going to do pork and the peas tomorrow, but no one besides me in my house will eat collards so 1/2 will have to do!

Happy new year nam2013! And to answer your question, we lost two big bags full of new clothes for C and dh lost his new reefs. It sucks. But thankfully it didn’t cause an accident or something.

We have various appetizers set out and beer is cold in the fridge and we are just waiting on friends to arrive. Unfortunately it is cold and rainy so our plan of having the kids play outside isn’t happening.

I just got a new phone recently and also hate the corrective text. Act right, iphone.

Both kids are down and DH is making our NYE dinner; I did the asparagus and am now drinking champagne and looking at light fixtures for my sister's guest bath. Pretty exciting night around here!

+1 that's our goal in the new house. Hopefully in bed by 8, asleep by 8:30. A doesnt get home until 6:30 so I dont want any earlier than that because he would get no time with them.

DH is watching fights tonight so we're enjoying spiked cider and getting soccer, tball, etc. registrations done and starting to look into rentals on MV for this summer.

Both boys are usually down by 8:30 and this time of year, they're up anytime from 6:30 to 8. In the summer they're up earlier. Chase is still napping a good 2 hours a day but since school started, Colin only naps if he's sick or acting crazy. He asked to nap today. He was a bit off still at bedtime but let's be serious, I'm more worried about Chase right now!

I think it’s great to start them young. My sister started when she was in preschool (I was prob 8 or 9 at the time) and she’s always been much more adept than me.

We did! We took him 2 years ago. We ended up not putting him in ski school (because our friend put her super sick kid in 🤨)

We are going again in Feb and are for sure putting him in ski school this year. I think he will get a lot out of it at this age

Hi! Good day— some shopping, little cocktail party and ice cream for dessert,
Not so good night.
Charlie is a mess—Sick eyes,gross cough, and so much snot.
I thought Josie was on the mend, but she woke up an hour after she had been down, screaming in pain about her ear. She’s never had an ear infection so this is new to me. Gave her Benadryl and Motrin and let her watch an episode of Top Chef with us.
Both kids have been waking up every 15 minute or so ever since. Charlie to cough and Josie to whine out in pain. At one point (when I was in her room) she asked for a glass of water so I texted mh (who was in our room)to get her one. He called my phone a minute later to tell me he tumbled down half of the second set of steps and was lying on the floor of the hallway.
I’m not deterred. I will turn this around and ring in the new year peacefully!

He has a bad back to begin with so this just exacerbated the pain. He’s in bed now with meds and an ice pack.

Any relief I can give Josie for her ear pain? She keep telling me she wants an ice pack on it, but that the pain is inside. I just put a warm compress on it.

Could you do a dose of tylenol (if you gave her motrin last)? I just read that you can alternate hot and cold packs for 20 min. at a time, maybe give that a try? Poor girl. Ear pain is so miserable.

We don’t have any Tylenol in the house I and I don’t think anything is open tonight. I under dosed Motrin at 730, so I’m hoping I don’t have to wait til 130 to give another dose.
