So last night I mentioned the bed to DH again (who me, nag? Never!) We did go see the samples Saturday night but he’s seemed non-committal so I wanted to give him an out. He was like, no no, I’m not ruling it out. A couple minutes later he got up, and came back with a packet of paperwork.

He had ordered the bed yesterday morning while he and B were out! He swore B to secrecy and to his credit, the 5 y.o. kept his mouth shut. DH said he was going to just let the delivery truck show up in a couple weeks but clearly I was not going to let it go until then 😂😂 I have lusted after this bed for literally years, I’m so excited!

Such a good DH! I hope you threw him a bone or two. 😉 Clearly he understands happy wife, happy life. 😂

I'm working on a longterm Pavlovian response...DH gets action, I get new furniture. Win/win, right? 

I’ve tried this strategy many times. I’ve also used it as rewards - acknowledge trash being taken out and get laid. Should work, right? Nope. I’m glad your H is responsive to the methods!

Happy NYE! I went grocery shopping this morning and came in under budget, I love when that happens. This morning the girls were playing down in the basement and H came running up the stairs saying “dad! I didn’t do anything”. And then I heard S at the bottom of the stairs crying. We have an old tube TV down there and I guess H was sitting on the back part, S was standing in front of it, it tipped and landed on one of her big toes. She was pretty sad about it, and has a blood blister under her toenail. I gave her Motrin and iced it, we shall see what happens. After nap we are going to a friend’s house to hang out.

You’re a lucky girl. He treats you so well. Enjoy your new bed, I’m sure the nightstand and dresser won’t be far behind

Poor thing. C will not be coming with us. We will likely be a wreck for a few hours after if it’s anything like our dog was so I don’t want him home until we’ve pulled it together somewhat.

We have talked a lot about giving Max the gift of dying before he’s suffering (although I think he is now) but I haven’t associated the vet with it.

Aww, thanks. He is a good one. I think I'm definitely cut-off until we get back to FL, though!

Is it me, or do the newer phones have the worst corrective text. It’s always changing my words to two complete different things and I swear it didn’t happen this much with my old phone.

I also keep screenshooting random things. I don’t have a home button anymore, so when I go to turn up volume, somehow my fingers press the buttons on both sides of the phone and I screenshot. 🤦🏽‍♀️ I feel like an old.

wedding we put our lab down right after T turned 2 so he didn’t really know but my other kids were 5 and 8. I don’t know what is right. My kids didn’t say goodbye because they went to school, I went to work, and DH called from the vet that the dog was really bad. The vet gave us the option of bringing him home for the kids to say goodbye and bringing him back the next day but I couldn’t do it so we had him put down right then. I think I wasn’t able to properly explain that we were helping the dog die so I just told them he died while they were in school. We have his ashes and T still introduces him as “our old dog who we shrunk and put in a box.”

I feel like it takes a while for phones to adjust their auto correct after you get them. The thing that annoys me the very most is when it corrects words that I mean to type (that are totally real words) to whatever word it feels like.

I've never had a fancy phone before and a few months ago I got a S9. Holy hell is the AC awful. Constantly changes real words to 2 different words that make no sense. I don't get it. It doesn't seem to be getting smarter with time either and learning my lingo.

I rarely host. When I do I try to provide most of what's needed. With our friends this weekend I was going to let them bring the booze because we don't really drink so we wouldn't know what they want. I can definitely see providing the main course and asking others to potluck side dishes for a large group. But the host should have the basics.

I don’t host as often as I used to. With the exception of Christmas, I arrange everything. For Christmas I host, organise, cook, but usually people bring stuff (I divided tasks) or we go dutch on the costs. At my in-laws we all bring a course. It works for us 🤷🏼‍♀️.

I feel like it takes a while for phones to adjust their auto correct after you get them. The thing that annoys me the very most is when it corrects words that I mean to type (that are totally real words) to whatever word it feels like.

Lol. I’m glad it’s not just me. I cringe when it happens when I’m watching someone’s snap or Ig live. Like, I’m not a creeper! Just fumbling with a new phone. 😬😂

M changed his mind about the movie, so I’m in my comfy clothes and wanting to nap. Not sure if I will. I need to if I’m going to stay up to watch the New Years shows like usual. No plans here. I got some drinks and dips and we’ll just have a night in.

So Chase just has an awful cold that really likes him. The doctor suggested Zyrtec in the morning and to keep doing what we're doing. I'd say it was a waste of a visit but at least we know his lungs are clear, which is always good to hear when they've been coughing for almost a month.

O has been coughing for a month too and Dr said lungs are clear. But he gets into coughing fits if he runs around too much, coughs at night and in the morning. I’m like “now what?!” How do we get this cough to go away?!

I hate the corrective text on my newish phone. I thought it would get better as it learned what I type often but nope. Still turns matthew into mathematics.....

I mean, I didn’t have a nervous breakdown and require anti-depressants until after I kids? It’s almost as if pregnancy can alter your brain chemistry...

And the responsibility of caring for small people plus being expected to have no needs of your own/our society treating mothers like we’re just a vessel for making and feeding babies is a real delight!
