Tasty Thursday!

So my grandparents moved into an assisted care facility a few months ago. My parents and aunts and uncles have been cleaning out their house and getting rid of stuff to get it ready to sell. Grandma kept a binder for each of us kids throughout our childhood to give us when we got older. So my parents gave me the binder grandma kept for me and it’s so amazing. From sweet letters and notes we wrote to them, postcards from vacations, school pictures, family pictures, and even some historical family things like copies of my grandpa’s discharges papers from the military, letters my great grandpa wrote to my great grandma. It was so cool to go through. I’m so glad she did this because I’m not good at saving things. She even had my engagement announcement and wedding announcements from the paper in there. And a really cool pic from the paper of my dad holding my sister looking in the nursery at me when I was born.

We sent Atticus to his old DC today and he and X were having a great time chasing each other on the playground this morning.

My in-laws just picked up the kids because we’re going to the Rockets game tonight. I’m more excited about dinner and drinks then I am the game...

I just got back from the kids’ annual checkups. Z failed her eye test. It said astigmatism. The Dr assured me that it has to do with the shape of her cornea and NOT screen time. Regardless, I’m concerned. I guess tomorrow I’ll be calling a pediatric eye Dr.

Anyone else’s kids fail their eye test?!

J did last year and this year..we have an appointment in Feb with an opthomologist. She didn't seem too concerned though since he can see well enough. Hope it's nothing serious! I do have an astigmatism from computer screens though, but doubt it could happen when so little.

Both boys. They both presented with results consistent with astigmatism but the pediatric eye doc said he had no real concerns. They actually have their 2 year follow up coming in February.

That’s when I discovered tweezers too! But unfortunately I was not blessed with the ability to tweeze well. It was a skill that took me well into adulthood to master. 😂.

Exhibit A: new to tweezers (I’m guessing 9th grade 1994ish), eyebrows too far apart and terribly shaped.


Exhibit B: senior pictures (1998), eyebrows have inches further apart, and one is way off from the other where it lines up with my eyes.



Exhibit C: engagement pictures (2002), for the love of god would someone take the tweezers away from me! Over plucking extrodinaire.




I finally started getting it right shortly after that. 😂

I'm cracking up lfig , I have definitely had the over-plucked look myself. I think that is a hazard of having very heavy (natural) brows, it's so tempting to go in the extreme opposite direction.

I happened upon the bed that I've been lusting over for years, it's on clearance and apparently being discontinued. :sob: We had planned to wait til we're in our next house to redo our bedroom (we still have the NMS set DH bought as a bachelor, bc I'm afraid to risk damaging new stuff in the move) but I am so. freaking. tempted to at least get the bed. Or rather, attempt to nag DH into submission since I doubt he will be as tempted
