H is being so patient... This "coral" is no where near as easy as Pinterest made it seem (big surprise there).

aydee since it's morning maybe do some pastries along with the fruit and then coffee and juices? Think light brunch goodies.

aydee Publix carries a yogurt dip that is amazing on fruit. It's normally near the cut fruit there.

I finished cutting out the eyes and mouths for the create a monster activity for the kids. I hope the parents don't mind helping their kids do it. I got glue dots so it shouldn't be messy or anything.

Would you guys have alcohol at a party that's from 11-2? And if so what kind (punch? Beer (what kind of mix)).

armpants I really like the idea of yogurt dip. We don't have publix here but hopefully I can find a recipe and make my own.

taketheshot, that looks so awesome though!!! booarogue, I probably wouldn't but I guess bloody marys/mimosas seem appropriate to me. We usually don't do booze at the kids' b-day parties until most everyone is gone and when it is just my sister's family and us left, then adults have a couple of beers while the kids keep playing. aydee, there's a good Paula Deen fruit dip recipe out there somewhere if you start searching you might come across it. She's not my favorite human but her recipes are usually really damn good (when you aren't trying to be healthy). I started working on some cupcake toppers and other things that have a little construction theme, just a banner and menu cards and little cards to put in the favors. The favors will be in clear treat bags, with Reese's Pieces in the bottom with a little construction toy on top and a note that says "I dug having you at my party." I think they are pretty cute!

Personally though, I wouldn't feel compelled to serve alcohol at a child's party, but I'm also not a big drinker.

booarogue you know I totally mind helping my kid. How rude. J/K. I wouldn't expect alcohol, I also wouldn't think much of seeing it. I wouldn't expect at W's party since you and your H aren't big drinkers.

Oh and a t-shirt for J. Its just my parents, my sister, my ILs and one couple with their 3 year old so I'm not going fancy with games and food ideas. We are having chicken, potatoes, pepperoni roll, italian potato salad and a fruit tray. Party City had SO MUCH Mickey Mouse stuff so I did buy some cute stuff for the 3-year old as a favor.

Pizzaslut, hi party twin - my guests include my parents, my sisters and their families, my bff and her 3 yo and my fil. We did mickey mouse for A's first birthday party and kept the decorations (from party city, so same ones you have) but now my H can't remember where he put them. I'm not going to go crazy with food i just like some of the ideas i saw like pigs in blanket but call them hot diggity dog, minnies bow tie pasta (cold pasta salad), goofy's goldfish, donald and daisy's dip....plus hamburgers and some other small things. But there are cute ideas for silver ware presentation, like mousketa-tools. And fun ideas to decorate with streamers and table clothes plus red solo cups. Plus kids will be swimming most of the time. But i did want to do something fun because kid got shafted on his first party.

Just made these brigadeiros for E's party this weekend. Last year I made them and forgot to get them out so I need to have someone remind me. It's a Brazilian tradition to have them at kids' bday parties and we have no Brazilian connection but I used to hang out with some Brazilians and I swore my kids would get these on their birthdays b/c they are so good!

Super easy! And anything with sweetened condensed milk is delicious! Tips-chill before rolling the balls and butter your hands a little. I get the tiny baking cups from Amazon to make them look fancy too!
