skinandbones, we did chuck e cheese for A's 4th. Both kids were wiped when we got home. And they take care of it all! It's fantastic. I think we did 14 kids (cousins and friends kids and a few kids from daycare) all for like $200. Plus the cake - $25 from target. So worth it.

I'm trying to decide between Finding Dory or Moana. She loves those two and Sesame Street, but I think the first two would be more fitting for a summer party. MH doesn't want Dory because we did Pout Pout Fish last year. I was thinking we would do morning, but now you have me wondering about an after nap party....but that probably wouldn't work for her little buddies.

Well, I hope Poppy likes poppyseed cake bc I've made it her signature cake. I did a naked poppyseed cake for her first birthday, and now I'm feeling pretty set on the Marimekko one.

I have no idea. I need to get throw Little's first. I highly recommend spending the money and having his party at a kids place like chucky cheese - (not necessarily chucky cheese but i don't know what other kids places you have in your area...like we have monkey joe's which is a place of bounce houses and slides)...but they take care of everything! I walked out of the party and was like, wow i am not exhausted. Best money ever spent. yes DS' birthday at the children's museum was so easy. They lead the children around, corral them. For the older kids it's a very good option.

Team no party. We're going to do a day trip to Chattanooga with booarogue and her family. I honestly want you did trips until he's at last 5, older if I can push it. We were going to do a longer trip, but we're planning on going to a friend's wedding at the beach in September, so saving for that trip.

About two months ago I planned a Sesame Street party. The guest list is up to about 40 and I just don't know if I want to do it. It would be at a park and only fruit and veggie trays (to look like SS characters) and cake, but I just don't know. I kind of want to save my big parties for when he is older. If we do it, I like the idea of after nap time but that'd be the worst heat of the day. His birthday isn't until 9/1 so I have some time to decide. The plus is it's Labor Day weekend and MH and I have Friday and Monday off.

I think we're going to do a small party with a Minnie Mouse theme. We'll probably have 3 of her "friends" who are close to her age and their families. We may have the party mid-morning since her nap takes up a large chunk of the afternoon. I have to figure out food. We might do brunch type foods/snacks and then cake, of course.

Because of this thread - i have changed the time of the party to 3 pm so we can go into early evening to drink and hang with adults.
it will be the first party at our house - so there will be swimming. I want a taco bar, i got major side eye from H. so we might just grill - which will make him happy and keep him out of my hair so that might be the direction we are going.
Mickey Mouse themed is what i think but now C is loving bugs and balls - so i might switch it up. Which means I need to get my butt on etsy and pinterest and start crafting.

We are doing a Moana (mostly Luau) theme, mostly for decorations.
Food: Chicken, Hot dogs, Barbeque pineapple meatballs Munchies: Fruit tray, veggie tray, pasta salad, soft pretzels, chips/dip and a corn/bean dip a friend always has and is amazing (to go with tortilla chips) Dessert: Cupcakes (icings will be colors to match décor) Drinks: Water, Lemonade, Hugs & Capri Sun (maybe some soda/tea) Activities: Water balloons, slip & slide, pool and I'm going to try and make a few games using pool noodles Favors: Beach balls, leis and maybe sunglasses?? I don't know. I'm trying to think of something that won't just get thrown away, but am at a loss

Ah, here is a birthday question: The kids birthday party is next Saturday. I'm just getting a cake made from BJ's. Is 10 days before it's needed way too early to put in the order? BJ's says 36 hours before, but I don't want to order THAT close just in case... But is 10 days overkill?

-Invites -Centerpieces (fishbowl) -Goodie "bags" (buckets) with bubbles, mini beach ball, stickers, and a squishy toy. - Cupcakes shaped like fish (I'm thinking 2 of these) and an octopus made with cake/cupcakes.. I already talked to my friend who is a baker and she is excited to do them -Candy buffet w/ Swedish fish, Gummy Octopus, sour gummy worms, pop rocks, m&ms, green sour punch straws, goldfish crackers, tootsie pops wrapped up to look like octopus -activities are painting sea shells, coloring paper plate fish, and I made sensory buckets with aquarium stones, shovels, small plastic shells/animals -it is being held at a playground with a splash park so the kids have that too

fierymama, we're having a similar party! Mostly because she loves Moana and the dollar store has a shit ton of tiki type of decor. I'm going to make a fun cake. We may also do popcorn boats, those blue water jello cups, and chips, etc. I was laughing at your post RunsforWineandCarbs, because DH gave me the exact same reaction about the taco bar. He must have the same attachment to grilling that I have to the cake haha. We are doing the slip and slide and water balloons too.

This thread is making me feel inadequate! Lol! We've decided on just doing something small on his actually birthday, which is a Wednesday. Probably just family. No centre pieces or grab bags! Lol! I do want to try to make some sliders that I see on pinterest all the time. Will probably get some balloons though. I am normally huge with birthdays, but he's only going to be two..he won't care! Lol! My mom also brought him his birthday present yesterday so he can get more use (a push car/tricycle thing).

So the Sesame Street Bday park party is happening. I'm sending out Evites from party city with Elmo on them on August 1st. We are doing character face trays- elmo, Cookie Monster, Ernie, big bird, and oscar. Tostitos Scoops and salsa (bird nests) Golf fish And a cookie cake. I ordered decor last week from party city because it was 1/2 off. I'm doing the least I can do and actually have a party

redandblue.. Don't feel inadequate! I have no choice but to have a large party. We've been invited to all of these other children's parties so I feel like I have to invite them to ours. Plus family on both sides... We'll have over 50 people, 10 of those being kids from 9 months to 12 years old

Everything looks and sounds great! Still not doing a party. Sunday we're going to Chattanooga to the children's museum, lunch, then the aquarium. Maybe back to the museum if the kids feel like it. It will be us, booarogue and her crew, and our other friends that have a three year old. I'd say I'm doing the least, but I'm driving an hot and a half each way, so I am putting some effort into it 😂

layloo DD1 had an Elmo party for her second birthday. I made these cupcakes and they're one of my favorite things I've done for them! They are also literally all I did for her birthday bc DD2 was 6 weeks old lol. But she loved them and kept screaming eat Elmo! Those are soooo cute!!!! It'd end up being a fail for me lol. I bought some SS figurines that I'll place around the cookie cake lol And those are the plates I got haha!
