peachsmama, oof. I hope it was a one-off. BTW, I meant to ask yesterday--do you know why the recommendation was for him to have another hearing test at audiology then getting his ears drained at ENT? Seems like it should be the other way around for an accurate test? I hope his hearing is intact and it's just fluid. Because this was just the basic screening in the pedi office with a hand held device and head phones. She said the ent will want a true test before making his suggestion. |

After reading what I posted....can someone give me a different word with a soft G, cause both Gs when I say George sound strong to me.... I googled (which is a hard G). Soft G is followed by either e, I, or y. Hard G is followed by any other letter. Soft G = gentle, gem, germ, cage, age, angel, orange Hard G = goat, gutter, dragon, foggy, eagle, gas, gum Thank you! So a soft G sounds like J.

Hi! Happy birthday chrisy01 and SweetPotato! Stop by these parts more often SweetP!!! I woke up sick and so did MH so our date night tonight will be postponed until next week. I just can’t seem to keep my kids healthy and now we are all sick. Ugh. I think i said this yesterday but i really appreciated the effort that MH put towards my birthday. He also wrote a very thoughtful card, so I’m feeling very acknowledged right now and it feels good. |

dapostrophe Sounds super scary! Yesterday morning all the kids got on the school bus except the bus driver closed the door before our 1st grade neighbor got on. He didn’t know what to do and the bus started pulling away just as he looked like he was about to run across the street. I was banging on the window for mh to turn around because he was the closest adult to the situation. (I was in the house watching O get on the bus with Z). Anyway, mh turned at just the right moment and saw the boy so he flagged the bus driver to stop. I swear, my heart was in my throat the whole time and it wasn’t even my kid.

S had a million hearing tests with the ENT when she was younger. She has a preauricular ear pit and it can sometimes be associated with hearing loss. In our case her hearing is fine. But each time we went, she had fluid in her ears and so although we still did the tests, the basically wouldn’t use those results for their findings because the fluid affects the results. So then they would schedule us to come back a month later. This happened several times and they finally had me give her Claritin for a month to help dry her up and we finally got clear results. |

Snoop, your story reminds me of a situation that happened a few years ago in our old neighborhood. A parent dropped their like 7 year old kid at the bus stop and went to work without waiting for the bus to come. I think the bus had already come so the kid was just standing there forever when someone drove by and stopped! Poor kid!!!!

I’m headed to STL (story of my life) for dr appts. Today is with the orthotist to get Sierra’s AFO’s (leg braces). Then tomorrow we see the CP doctor. We saw the NP last time but she had to confer with her colleagues because Sierra’s case was not typical so the attending physician wanted to see us.
I’m off work till the 27th! Maybe longer if the government shuts down 🙄. And I just picked S up from school. It was her last day for the holidays and she won a giant stuffed teddy bear from the bank (they do a drawing every Christmas at the school). And she came hoe with tons of treats and small gifts.

Hey! H had her Christmas program this morning. She did a great job. The teacher taught them some sign language for some of the songs they sang, I thought that was cool. In between drop off and the program S and I ran a package to the post office (which is apparently what all the cool people are doing today). Now it’s lunch time then naps.

I went food shopping for the holiday. I’ll have to make one more trip, I’m sure, but the bulk is finished.
Josie finished up school and doesn’t go back until January 4th! She is so energetic today; the excitement is coursing through her. She’s currently making paper plates wreaths and singing some made up song about our town and Christmas. Send caffeine?

I don't do stockings because my MIL does them at her house. M of course informed me last night that Santa brings stockings to kids who listen. My MIL already told her that Santa wouldn't come to their house because no kids live there.
Who the fuck told my kid this nonsense?
Now I have to go buy stockings and shit to put in them.

tgrimes, I told mh to pick up some fake coal that would randomly appear with a note telling Cadence this is all she will get if she continues not listening and ends up on the naughty list. Love, Santa. He has yet to buy any.

The surgery went went, both lungs are in and working well!!! They have s long road ahead of them, but for now this is the best outcome they could have had!
