We had our office Christmas party yesterday along with our decoration contest. Our team was disqualified because our decor was too disturbing. We went with a Santa’s creepy village theme where the others did cutesy things like the Grinch and Polar Express. We are cool with it since the judges told us we were the best, most dynamic, and it will be remembered forever. They just couldn’t vote for us on principal. The other teams did a great job too. We just took it a different direction. Today is the Court Security Officers party at lunch, the Judges party late afternoon, and then our office holiday cocktail hour after work. It’s a lot. The day will go by fast but I am so tired. I’m going to hit a meeting this morning for mental prep. How are you all doing? Are you free lahdeedah?

Morning. My Instax camera died and I’m bummed. Dh told me to buy a new one and put in under the three, but it’s not something I need so I’m not sure. I cleaned a lot and got Dh a nice steak dinner for tonight.

@lahdeehdah hope the send off went well. I forgot to comment yesterday, your worries sound normal to me, but I’m an emotional mess so who knows 😂😂😂.

MHs school is on lockout today bc a threat came in over Snapchat from a kid on suspension. They sent the text at 2:30 AM, and followed it up with a 530 call to say exactly what the text said. I appreciate the information, but I don’t need things buzzing and beeping at that hour. It made me think that there was a delay or cancellation for weather purposes.

Morning!
I was super restless last night and did not sleep well. Maybe I can sneak in a nap this afternoon.
B has school today; we’re going to drop him off and go straight to the post office to mail one last gift (H’s grandmother). I stopped by last night and the parking lot was completely full and there was a line of cars waiting for people to exit and free up parking spots. No, thank you.

In case anyone was wondering what my LEGO advent calendar assembly looks like today, here you go. (For scale reference, each of those pieces is the size of my pinkie nail...or smaller 😳)

I did this last week when I went to get stamps and mail the Christmas cards. I just drove straight through the lot because I was not waiting in that long line. I got stamps from Publix and they weren’t Christmas themed, but oh well.

That is really great! Dhs cousin passed last year from CF while waiting for a viable donor. It was heartbreaking. I’m glad they were able to find a match!

Of course I couldn’t go back to sleep, so I’m catching up on a show and catching up here.
Happy Hump day!

Yep, if I can’t find parking today I’ll just go to the UPS store and pay two prices—I can’t imagine things improving much at this point! I guarantee 95% of the people at the post office last night were standing in line instead of using the self-service kiosk. I do not understand this. I’ve mailed a good bit this holiday season and that’s all I’ve used—never a wait. Meanwhile there’ll be 10-15 ppl waiting on counter service. Join us in the 21st century, folks! I can’t imagine every one of them is doing business that requires a clerk—most are usually holding boxes or flat envelopes.

Morning ladies! guster I hope they find the kid who made the threat and get him into custody before he harms himself or someone else. flamingo When I went to the post office last week, there was an old man who went between the clerks to find just the right Christmas stamps. I wanted to yell 'No one gives a shit about the stamp, grandpa!' but didn't. I waited in line because I wasn't sure I could buy the international postage on the kiosk. But yes, most of the people in line could easily have used it as well. nam2013 I hope the surgery goes well and he has a fast recovery! lahdeedah Enjoy your time! Is anyone else's kid obsessed with farting currently? Or just mine? Also, my mom stayed to help at preschool yesterday and the teacher told her that her only concern for E in K next year is her speech. H and I both had speech therapy in school when we were young, so it isn't that surprising, but I don't know if schools even offer that anymore. Besides telling her to quit talking like a baby, anything we should be doing at home to help this?

Morning Ladies! We had a scary moment last night while delivering our treats to the neighbors. It was dark and Theo ran out into the middle of a cul-de-sac right as a car was starting to back up. He was plenty far away but running right toward it, so I ran out with the stroller to catch him, yelling the whole way. The car backed right up to us and got within literally a few inches before stopping. I had already turned my body for impact, after having to make a split second instinctual decision on who to protect. I would like to never be put in a situation like that again, TYVM.
All is well, thankfully, and I am currently wrapping up Theo's teacher gift. Later today, I am taking my grandma to visit Evelyn's classroom. She is going to be so thrilled 😁

She realized real fast if she wants something she has to use a normal voice.
Is she struggling with certain letter sounds? Tongue twisters might help. Peter Piper, Sally sells sea shells. Not necessarily seeing how fast you can say them, just getting her to accentuate the letter sounds.

The email also said they didn’t find any weapons in their search, so I’m feeling better about this. MH teaches in such a sleepy town that is too scary to think about what could possibly happen.

@tgrimea How are your MIL’s parents? Hope they are out of the hospital by now. Grandma is still in ICU. I think she also has a bowel obstruction. Grandpa just has the flu and has a private room. My MIL said they seem to be doing better. She's wearing a mask and is praying she doesn't get sick. Thanks for asking.
