The holiday traffic has been driving me crazy; I commented one day this week that it feels like half the people out there have no idea where they're going, and as a result are either poking along or doing stupid stuff/making abrupt turns/etc.

Got the boys hair cuts. J's is not at all what I said. She basically ignored me and did whatever the fuck she wanted. Pretty sure she's the manager so I'm not even going to bother calling to complain. I think my face said enough...

We braved the mall as soon as it opened and now we are waiting at the mall movie theater waiting for Ralph Breaks the Internet to start. After nap today we promised C we would all go in the basement to practice karate so he can impress at Tuesday’s class.

Morning! Today is my day of Christmas baking so I can assemble gift boxes and get them all out this week! I’m making 8 different treats and doubling the recipes on a few, so I’ll probably gain 15 pounds today! This afternoon we have sundays in the park. Our city puts it on, food trucks, bounce houses, live music and a beer garden. And it’s walking distance!

Hey. Apparently I never checked in yesterday. I had the best of intentions but also distractions. DH worked all day yesterday so I was solo parenting. We went to a friend’s house for her little boy’s birthday party. The girls had a lot of fun, but towards the end S got poked in the eye. She cried for a bit and then was fine. We went home, she took a nap and then after nap kept crying at me that her eye hurt. So I took her to acute care to see if it was scratched or something. That was not the most fun trip to the doctor I’ve ever had. She was not even a little bit cooperative. But the good news is that the doctor didn’t see any issues so we are keeping an eye on it. Then after dinner we all went down to the falls park and looked at Christmas lights. They put lights on the trees and shine colored lights on the water fall. So pretty. After that it was home and to bed for me. I’m working today because my coworker who normally works this shift has a funeral. Can’t complain about extra money. After work I need to whip up some sugar cookie dough so the girls and I can decorate tomorrow afternoon. Then we are going to the ILs to celebrate FIL’s birthday and MIL wants to decorate a gingerbread house with the girls.

Yes. There were so many people out in the roads and in the stores. I wanted to do more, but after one store I happily fled home.

Morning!

We went to see a band last night that was fun. It’s been so long since we have did anything like that -just posted as M2 was wrestling to try to get my phone. 🤨 When we got back, M2 was up waiting on me. That kid. It didn’t take much to get him back to bed, but he’s been sleeping horribly for the past two weeks. I saw another molar peeking through, so I’m sure thats why.

Have to run to Target today to try and get a new phone and some other items. Also sending the boys out at some point so I can take all the gifts out to see what I have and start wrapping. I’m hoping for a productive day.

I went to Walmart and there wasn't a cart left. 😱🤪

I'm glad C is enjoying karate. TKD is a fun family activity for us. The girls and I are all the same belt now so we can practice our skills together.

A pineapple! I just like the blown glass ornaments a lot so that was the kind I wanted to take

I don't know why, but I'm just dragging today. I have been on the couch for like, 75% of the morning (I also took a nap in there lol). In that time, DH has gone out to get us breakfast AND lunch, put C down for a nap, and just took B out to the grocery store. I should probably get up now, put on some clothes, and tidy up for the sitter. This might require a forklift.

8am gymnastics recital type thing, then straight to Bass Pro Shop for our Santa picture. We waited longer for the store to open then we did in line to actually see him. Grocery shopping, Subway and now we're home and in bed resting. It was a long morning.

Oh, and Cadence asked Santa for big kid Legos. This is the first time I've heard about her wanting Legos!

It was good. I don’t think your girls get scared easily but there were some parts that I could see some kids getting scared. C didn’t though and thought it was great. It could have ended about 20mins earlier, but I feel that way about most movies these days. The Disney Princesses cracked me up and I appreciate Disney picking on themselves a bit.

That’s good. When my parents took C yesterday it was a 3.5hr wait. But my mom did sleep in so that’s what you get. C did not get a Santa pic but he was looking at toys trying to convince my parents to buy him one and Santa’s seat was right there. He yelled “Santa, can I get this?” Santa gave a thumbs up so my parents were stuck. Suckas!

Took LO to Ralph. His second time my first time. It was a little too long and didn’t quite capture the magic as the first one did

I’ve made brownies and candy pie. I still need to make carrot cake cupcakes.

My parents are currently adding a second rod in a closet for me since my tension rod idea failed.

I’m working on laundry and dishes as well. With the help of my mom I’m almost all caught up on laundry.

Just had the kids take off their PJs to bath and put fresh jams on. This weather is so gross. Got some good progress done on my closet today though and the tree is decorated. I also had a much better workout and an inaugural trip to Aldi. I now have to go out to buy more cloves bc I am making pomanders with J's class tomorrow. He did a practice one tonight and he was an instant pro, so hoping it's a hit in the class (put cloves in an orange).

Everyone needs to go see Green Book, it was so good. They need to make more movies like that!

On our way home from dinner and the movie; the kids were literally overjoyed to see our sitter, it was so sweet. She gave all of us hugs, I think she was genuinely glad to see us, too:) And best news, she is transferring to a school closer to home bc she misses the beach and ‘there’s not much to do in the middle of VA’ 😂😂 DH and I literally high-fived when we left the house because she’ll be able to sit for us again.

I'm pretty excited about the lego tub/ train table topper I just made. Using double sided tape was easier than hot glue.
He will be so excited when we get home Christmas day!
