wedding How much postage did you put for Nam’s? I haven’t sent hers out yet because i haven’t stopped in the post office. The Canada ones i put 3 stamps.

I discovered we were out of laundry detergent so I went to Total Wine. They were doing tastings of Amici. It’s $45-50 a bottle. Score!
Did you know in California that state law says if you use 75% of one grape you can label it as that kind and not have to say it’s a blend? Who knew?

I can't wait for MH to get home. In the meantime I'm over here feeding L and A cheerios and spoonfuls of peanut butter. It hits protein, fat and carbs. I'm a good mom like that.

I just sent Dh out to pick up dinner mostly so I don’t kill him. He gets home at 7:30 or later most nights and even when he’s home he’s on his phone. Since he got home he pooped then has been on his phone since and tells me to figure out dinner. I suggested he figure out where to put the elf while I look up menus.
Of course he’s still messing with his phone. I ask him if it’s work and he says no. I say “I’m carrying a big resentment for your work right now”. He says “well that’s no my problem. That’s a you problem”. To which I responded “it’s a family problem since even when you are home you aren’t present and always dealing with work stuff”. That shut him up but I’m still annoyed. His work is a chronic mess and he almost lost his job recently due to a crazy employee. Don’t tell me it’s a “me” problem while I’m figuring out how we can live off my paltry income. 😡
Also I’m done being the house manager. Clearly we need couples counseling but I’m not ready yet.

I'm sorry, wedding , that sounds frustrating. Maybe after the recent issues at work he's afraid to 'turn off', like he has to prove himself? Would he be willing to put the phone/work away for a bit when he gets home until after dinner/C goes to bed so y'all can have some dedicated family time, then pick back up later in the evening? Don't feel like you have to answer me, just an idea. |

In other TIL, we played Go Fish as a family tonight, and mh sing-songed, “fish, fish, got my wish,” if he got the card he was asking for if was told to “go fish” and drew from the “pond.”
Did I grow up in a bubble?

Don't feel like you have to answer me, just an idea. He’s been like this since the day I met him. My feeling is they suck and he needs to care less. He can’t. I understand and sympathize with him especially since his job directly impacts homeless teens. He has taken time off of work to job search but then he spends half the weekend working to catch up. It’s just gotten old. The plan when we moved here is that he would give them a year then look closer to home. It’s been 2.5 years. Usually he’s strolling in right after bedtime so that’s not an issue. And C eats separately from us because of that. So on weeknights it just my time he is on the phone. Weekends can sometimes be better, sometimes not. |

I'm sorry, wedding. Surely he must know that something has got to give? I will say to his credit that he stepped up in the two weeks I was a zombie adjusting to my meds. But he’s gone right back to his old habits now that I’m better. I was thinking the other day about the laundry he left unfolded despite being off all day and how if I was off I would fold it. But I realize that if he didn’t fold it on his day off he never would have to because I would do it. And if I didn’t fold it on my day off, I would just be procrastinating a task. |

Finally checking in. I'm not sure what happened since I was feeling well enough to donate blood on Monday, but I am sick. My cough is bad but I think it's all congestion at the moment. I'm so tired though. I took the morning off to work on holiday goodies and I made 2 batches of cookie dough, and I probably said "I don't feel like doing this" about 17 times. And I LOVE making cookies. I took an hour nap on the couch then dragged myself into the office for a few hours and now I'm in bed again. I feel like a lump.
In other news, the bulk of the boys' gifts arrived today so ideally I will start wrapping this weekend. We have the Santa train tomorrow night and date night on Sunday, but not too much else going on. I just need some energy and motivation.
