So she can now climb on the couch 😲 and has a disappearing and appearing rash that I am currently waiting at the walk in to get checked out.

H is having to work late to fix other people’s mistakes. I’m glad I made cookies earlier today. Waiting for DS2 to go to bed so I can eat another half dozen.

H is having to work late to fix other people’s mistakes. I’m glad I made cookies earlier today. Waiting for DS2 to go to bed so I can eat another half dozen. I also made cookies today!! I found a decent small batch recipe so I only made 7 cookies. Phew! Sorry H has to work late today fresh baked cookies are my weakness. I stuff like 6 in my face right when they come out then don’t touch them. I should do a small batch but like a small batch of 3 maybe. I have no control. |

curmudgeon , I just ate 4 cookies while pumping 😩 we cannot be in the same room Doesn’t help but can you make, portion and freeze your cookie dough, that way you can have fresh baked anytime with limited quantities? BTW how is baby? Doesn’t HFM start with a fever then break out into sores?

Taitai I’m not surprised by Cornflakes and it’s gotta be Kellogg’s 😬 it was such a treat to get a box everytime we went to Singapore. You’re forgetting cereals aren’t a common breakfast food in SEA plus it comes in a pretty box and all the European and American children eat them or so we read in books. It’s a novelty. Party sounded like a blast! Not sure if you know about this. If anyone is visiting from the US you could ask them to bring this for the kids to keep them occupied. Baby is too little yet but your DS would no doubt live it! We are back in the baking business. Parts came yesterday and the oven literally got scrubbed and cleaned inside out and all around. I’m embarrassed it was quite nasty and note to self, a couple times a yr to pull out the range and clean the sides and the back. I’m now waitI got for my butters to soften so I can mix up some ginger buttons!

BTW how is baby? Doesn’t HFM start with a fever then break out into sores? im 99.9% sure he doesn’t have HFM. No fever. No sores. Nada. Sometimes if he lays on carpet or H rubs his face on him too much, the baby looks like he has a little razor burn for a few min. I don’t know if that’s what she saw? But when I came to get him at daycare the worker couldn’t point out one spot to me. |

duskymonkey Lol GD =General discussion So Dr thinks DD2 is fighting something viral and we have been trying very unsuccessfully to collect a urine sample to rule out a bladder infection. I’m back to work tomorrow and I’ve already got most of my meal prep done and I’m hoping to make cookies shortly with DD1 and then later I think we are going to drive around to check out Christmas lights.

curmudgeon from what you’ve posted I would have thought LO would have broken out in HFM by now it he had it too. Also, I have no self-control around delicious honemade cookies - good luck with that. duskymonkey glad your oven is back in business. The holiday season is no time for an appliance to take a vacation!

Took the girls to see the mall Santa today. DD1 climbed right up on his lap and talked his ear off. DD2 stayed right in my arms a respectable distance away. We went to Chipotle for lunch and it was heavenly. They were so well behaved that I’m going to pretend this is what the future of the danvers household will be like 😆
We just hung out and played this afternoon. My goal tonight is to not fall asleep when putting DD1 to bed and wrap presents.

I feel like I'm emerging out from under a dark cloud.
DH hurt his back last Sunday and has been totally out of commission. He wasn't able to work all week and basically quarantined himself to the basement so the boys wouldn't throw fits when he couldn't play with them. He's able to get around a little now, albeit with a cane. He cannot sit anywhere but at least he's spending time with us and able to help me a little. I've realized how spoiled I've been, he had been doing 90% of MOTN wakeups.
And....LO started nursing today like nothing ever happened. It had been 2 weeks. No teeth have broken through but he's wanted to nurse 4 (!) times today. I had been pumping and was growing very weary of it and I don't think I realized how sad I felt about the whole thing until he latched this morning.
My husband is finally able to walk a little and my baby is nursing again. It has been a good day.

CoachTsWife Yay for your LO latching and wanting to nurse again! I hope he continues to be enthusiastically back in the nursing saddle - good thing you stuck with pumping! I remember the immense relief I felt when we got through that week and a half too. So sorry for your H’e back. I hope he feels better soon. I'm sitting in the ER. DH was in excruciating pain all night. He couldn't really move at all and couldn't stand to get to the car so we had to call an ambulance. His dr had ordered an MRI and he had that yesterday at the hospital we're currently at. It shows a protruding disc. They gave him some good drugs and he's finally able to rest. Waiting to hear what our next step is. FIL is with us at the hospital and MIL is with the boys. They were out of town; I'm so thankful they got back last night.

cythe he is probably looking at surgery eventually. For now, they're trying to get the pain under control. He's been given so many drugs today and nothing is helping, at least not for longer than 15ish minutes.

I also have a major hang up about this. DD is 4 and we have only left her with family other than 2 times. Once we dropped her off at my BFFs for the day after my mom’s transplant and the second was a good friend’s teenage daughter watched a sleeping DD for an hour when we were at an open house Christmas party two doors down. DS has only ever been left with family. I used to love babysitters as a kid so I know it would be fine, and we know lots of teens from church we could use, we just...don’t |

Neither of my kids have ever been left with anyone other than family (excluding daycare during the day). I really want to go on date nights with H again but it does seem weird. I used to babysit all the time as a teen so I’m not sure why I have so many holdups. People left me with infants at 14 and those kids made it?!?! I also had way less ways to get ahold of the parents than kids these days do. I actually feel less weird about teens than adults but not sure where everyone else falls on that. |

cythe I keep trying to pull the trigger on a babysitter. DS1 & now 2 have only stayed with grandparents. There is a 20 yr old at our church who worked at the daycare/nursery who wants to nanny/babysit/etc and I can’t bring myself to text her. I always find an excuse to not go out that night. It’s hard and I even have in-laws right next door if she needed anything.

I don't venture out of here - I can barely keep up here. Taitai yeah I totally forgot about the fake snow until I read your post about going to Japan for skiing and keeping the kiddos busy until then. My GF introed me to it when we were working on a project together when she was putting together an exhibit and it was so cool when it exploded when water was added. A little goes a long way! Guise! I baked my ass off this weekend annnddddd....I accidentally made a bunch of vulgar gingerbread men. Oops! I didn't have time to make my gingerbread cut outs so I decided to make them from my gingersnap dough. Am I going to get banned?  They start out looking like stick figures   but expand and grow whilst baking  |

CoachTsWife Oh no! I am so sorry for your poor H! I have a friend who went through something similar- her H needed surgery. It was much better once he had the surgery, but I know it was really hard on her (and him) with the limited movement/lifting/recovery post surgery. Big hugs. And right before Christmas. I’m so sorry ☹️ cythe I also have no experience with getting a babysitter that is not family or our nanny. I have heard care.com is a great place to find vetted babysitters. Maybe you could check that out?
