I have mastitis. I called my OB the second they opened and the nurse called me in a script. She was all weird about it though "it always hurts waiting for milk to dry up" No shit lady. I know that. It's been a week of pain, this is different!
I scolded Matthew this morning and he said "mommy, just go to work!" Damn children.
I go at 10 to get our plot plans and meet the township to get it approved!! I'm hoping he can give me my address. Then it's like 4 more people that have to look at it and do their portion but yay. Progress!!!

I have a general wall covering question. How cool or uncool is wallpaper nowadays? trtlcrzy posted a sweet looking little boys room inspiration picture for me on my house thread. It has orange walls and a blue/white patterned wall. Is that a stencil? Wall paper? Am I better off not doing that and keeping the wall white if I do an orange? I need all the thoughts on this.

csho, We don't have any in this house, but I think it can be very tasteful. The house I stalk on Zillow has a dining room that I think screams for a navy and white patterned wallpaper. I think it all comes down to quality.

I see it on design shows all the time. A lot of them are very pretty and I love the pop it adds. Personally, I wouldn't. Only because I've taken down wall paper and if/when you change your mind, it's a bitch to remove. And then you have to sand, patch, fill, sand the wall just to paint it. I would probably do a taped pattern to get the 2 color effect. Or pay a house painter to do that one wall if you don't feel up to it or just don't want to lol.

Morning! I made banana bread last night which dh is shocked and impressed by so we're enjoying that for breakfast. I'm going to keep playing it off that it was super hard to make even tho it's about as easy as it gets.
H is still sleeping. 😳 this has never happened so he's either going to wake up super happy or sick. My luck will be sick.
Some friends asked us to go to some chefs dinner tonight and I really don't want to. It's stupidly expensive and I don't love spending one on one time with this couple because they are very "we're better than you". But at least there will be drinks with every course.

Unless you plan to have that wallpaper up for a long long time, I'd stencil.

csho, I think it depends on the wallpaper. Our house had it, but the previous owner painted over it, which I didn't know until we went to paint and removed the bathroom mirrors to find he hadn't removed them when he painted so there was still wallpaper. Thanks dude. Anyway, I think wallpaper is fine, but not the stuff with giant flowers and weird designs.

klong11, C is obsessed with fire too. Also, who paints over wallpaper!?!?! I don't have any wallpaper, but love the look of it on the design shows! We actually did have wallpaper in our house when we moved in, but it definitely was not design show worthy...

It's still raining. Luckily not too bad so I don't think we have to worry about flooding.

Sorry, peach! Feel better!
I hate wallpaper because the previous owners painted over the wallpaper in the kids bedrooms multiple times. When we moved in the painter scraped it off from one bedroom before patching/painting, but we just had him paint over it in the second bedroom because we had a tight timeline and OMG did it add to the cost. Fuck wallpaper.

Morning! I'm WFH today and H has the day off for an appointment, so we dropped the kids at school and went out for breakfast. Now I'm working on the porch because it's perfect outside.

I don't understand why people would paint over wallpaper. It can't look good.

I don't understand why people would paint over wallpaper. It can't look good. It doesn't. I hate the walls at our house. He didn't just paint. He textured. So the walls are all weird and bumpy looking.

OK so the verdict is - no wallpaper, lol.
Can we talk about stenciling a pattern vs. Plain white wall. And how much of a bitch is it to stencil a wall yourself?
