it’s only monday and i already feel behind for the week.
dd1 woke up coughing so hard she puked😑 i decided to keep her home from daycare today and i have no idea when i’ll get my errands done. the wedding was alright but we stayed way too late and it’s going to take me all week to recover. dd2 did ok for my mom - took about 7 ounces from a bottle while we were gone. at least i have a ton frozen from pumping so much last week.
what’s everyone got going on this week?

Same girl same polson. I feel SO behind. DH’s schedule just took a crazy shift that is thankfully temporary and I’m already tired. DD2 has been waking up screaming and crying and I can’t figure out why. The girls are flip flopping wake ups and I just can’t hang.

E is giving me some grief lately. I hope it's a phase and not a glimpse into her toddler years.
We have a ton of appointments and stuff this week and then all of the social holiday things ramp up this weekend. I'm already struggling to find a balance.

DH got an offer from that job but the salary range was way, way too low. We are both really disappointed. We were prepared to take a pay cut in exchange for better quality of life but couldn't go that low. Ugh.

I think this week is going to be rough. I have a cold and L is being grumpier than he has ever been before. I think he is teething and getting the cold I have. He is refusing to eat again (except for puffs and mum mums) but is nursing still. He is still waking a few times a night to nurse and still up for the day between 5 and 6.
I go back to work in a month so I have been pumping but have only been able to get a few ounces a day. I am hoping my output increases soon. DH was able to give him some pumped milk from a sippy cup so at least he will actually take something when I am gone.

My 4 yo sees the glass as constantly half full. It’s exhausting. I am trying to catch up on life, but it’s so hard. Why does everyone need something??

We were prepared to take a pay cut in exchange for better quality of life but couldn't go that low. Ugh. Did he try to negotiate at all? That really sucks, I’m so so sorry ☹️ He did. Not only a salary counteroffer, but we talked about a structured scale where he would take a temporary hit with a contracted, gradual raise. Or stock options, or bonus. Nothing. It was way to wide a gulf. Womp. I feel so bad for him. He switched jobs in September after being with a company for 5 years and now he is just so, so unhappy. Part of me saw it coming. He was starry eyed about working at a fast, up and coming company (and the paycheck) and I think he dismissed some red flags because he has had the great fortune to never work for assholes before and gave the company the benefit that it would all work out. Until my present job, my entire career was working for assholes, and I know how miserable it can make your life. So I was a little gunshy about things like the commute, the schedule, pace and expectations. Ugh. After the holidays I think he is going to start looking for recruiters.

How often do you use yours? We lost ours in a basement flood about 4 years ago and never replaced it....I was surprised how easy it was to get by without one! You might be surprised too--and its so nice to have the increased counter space. I have a couple of tiny copper pots that I use to reheat small quantities of things on the stovetop, I use the broiler or warm water baths. I never miss the microwave!

O is starting to get a little cough and stuffy nose(thanks preschool germs😒) And sounds so pitiful when trying to nurse. Hoping it passes quickly!
I’m pretty much done Christmas shopping for the kids, now I just need to get everyone else crossed off 😬

calendula i could probably get away with it, but we use it a lot right now. h usually isn’t home for dinner time and it’s just easier to reheat his stuff in the microwave (i know i could probably reheat plate in oven on low?). i also need to heat my coffee like 40x a day, but i could just get a thermos. i’m mostly just lazy. i dunno it’s an over the oven one and the kitchen is really old and in desperate need of a redo (which we planned on but have now decided we’re not touching it). this is a cheap fix for the time being. i don’t want to know what the wall looks like behind it and i don’t want to figure out how to make it look alright without one there.

My mom got super excited about selling things in a garage sale when I was like 16 and ended up selling our microwave. Anyways, she didn’t get another one for like 8 years. I rarely use ours now actually. Things taste better heated up on the stove. I keep the microwave for popcorn

Not too much going on aside from the daily crazy. Getting ready for DD2 birthday and the new hardwood floors are being delivered to the new house next week so they can acclimate before instal first week of Jan. The next couple months are going to be so stressful, but can’t wakt to get moved into the new house. I hope we are moved and settled before J’s birthday.

calendula I'm sorry about the job, that really sucks. In my own job related news, my husband got word today that he didn't get one of the jobs he interviewed for in October. I'm so disappointed. The other one is still up in the air but I'm not very hopeful.

Twice this evening N cried while she was with my husband, and when I came to see what was wrong she reached for me and said "mumumum". I could have sworn it was intentional but my husband disagrees lol.

L has become a little clingy monster the last few days due to teething and being sick. Right now he is being entertained by the washing machine and dryer but I can't leave him at all because it is right at the top of the stairs and with my luck this is when he would start to crawl.

I am mentally done with work for today. I am struggling with focus. I have paperwork to finish and assessments to score, so I need to get with it. Only 2.5 more weeks until Christmas vacation, that is what is getting me through.
L had his 9 month appointment on Monday. It was discovered that he never fully got over the ear infection he had at the beginning of November or he was coming down with a new infection. So, he is on another round of antibiotics. This is the 3rd time he has been on antibiotics since September...poor kid. He is so different that DS1 who rarely gets sick.

I’m so sleepy. DD woke up in the middle of the night coughing so hard she vomited. Then every time I tried to tuck her back in bed she woke have the coughing fit again. I think she finally fell asleep around 2....then J woke up at six. Today is a day when I need a caffeine drip and all the good thoughts that the baby doesn’t get sick too.

Is it socially acceptable to give a very picky 5 year old pureed baby food? Especially one that refuses to eat her meals, but wants to try the babys food and tells me how good it is? Asking for a friend...

Asking for a friend... DS1 has “applesauce” (veg purée baby food mixed with apple purée) at most dinners because it’s the best way to get veg into him these days ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I also put the spinach apple purée into his banana smoothie. Team do what you gotta do.

Our lawyer is trying to get our house closure brought forward and I cannot wait. Currently it’s end of Jan. We asked for next week and got lol no’d haha. Looking like first week of Jan. MIL is being pretty good but damn she is taking advantage of H and assuming he’ll do a lot. She got annoyed because we are going to do our Santa photo Sunday morning so he won’t be here to “help” her when someone comes to quote on a new fence without any heads up that she wanted him for that. This is what it was like when he moved home just before we got together.

Asking for a friend... I made N a bunch of pouches this weekend and my 3yo has eaten more than she has. But whatever, she's eating veggies. No shame.

My ILs started this thing of letting E help make N's bottles.
There's nothing like having my 8 month old scream while my 3yo spills Uber expensive formula everywhere.
And if you don't let her help, she screams and cries. So no matter what, I have one screaming child.
I hate it and I'm convinced they did it to spite me
