My ILs started this thing of letting E help make N's bottles. There's nothing like having my 8 month old scream while my 3yo spills Uber expensive formula everywhere. And if you don't let her help, she screams and cries. So no matter what, I have one screaming child. I hate it and I'm convinced they did it to spite me HARD NO. Get your H on this one. And have E “make” a doll bottle instead. Can you premix for the day to avoid it all together? Or actually have her help with that one bc it’s so much easier?

Leaf 🌱 premaking is a good idea...I pretty much know how much she will eat each day. I try to let her help as much as possible with other things but OMG that formula is too expensive to spill all over my floor.

Lol the funny thing is that she likes veggies. But any type of main course she refuses to eat. Doesn’t really like beef, sometimes she’ll eat chicken but other times she says she doesn’t like it, refuses to eat any type of soup. Basically, if it’s not a fish stick or a hot dog it’s usually a nope, don’t like it, won’t eat it.

cornpop Oh no! I agree formula is way too expensive. I wasn’t prepared for how much J actually eats a day. DD tried helping too and I won’t let her either. Too expensive to either not have it mixed right (when she tried to help without supervision), or spill it. I used to let her help feed him...maybe that would work better?

I buy the fancy canned kind, pour in some frozen veggies, and she’s none the wiser. Protein + veg and no complaints. DD2 eats crazy amounts of poultry, green beans, breads, and peas, but hates peaches. Kids are so so weird. I figure I’ll just keep serving whatever and praying for the best 😂😂

nevertoomanyshoes I’m sure it’s probably hard to get everything done with closing since it’s so close to the holidays. But maybe it will be a Christmas miracle and you’ll be in sooner than you think!

auri my dd1 pretty much won’t eat any meat. for awhile she was cool with chicken sausage but that’s been a no lately. she will eat breaded chicken now, but i had to call it just “bread” for awhile to get her to eat it. i felt guilty about not being transparent with her for awhile but she’s so darn picky and stubborn so i’m team whatever it takes.

DD started eating hot lunch at daycare, lol. Food is included in the rates, so as soon as she could eat finger foods, I thought "why not"? So far so good. Earlier this week she had bits of portuguese kale soup, chicken pot pie, and today is lasagna day! I'm jealous. All I get is salad, lol.

Is it socially acceptable to give a very picky 5 year old pureed baby food? Especially one that refuses to eat her meals, but wants to try the babys food and tells me how good it is? Asking for a friend... Get veggies in where ever you can ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ auri, totally! You call it baby food but grownups call it "smoothies" and its completely acceptable. Get those nutrients in wherever you can!!!

I still let my 3 year old eat baby food pouches because she won’t touch a vegetable. She’s the worst eater.

That food sounds so good. I’ve been hesitating starting L on the lunches at daycare. They’re... fine, not great.

Others just aren't really age appropriate IMO (like beef teriyaki I feel like is too salty for this age). But overall its decent. Next week she has meatballs, turkey dinner (!!!) and taco boats. I would eat a whole fleet of taco boats for lunch if I could! I still pack snacks. I like having her eat plain whole milk yogurt every day and more veggies than what she gets at school.

Hi all!! Just checking in. The last few weeks have been awful at work and I’m just emerging from the chaos. Hopefully I will have time to stop in more! I’m also team do whatever it takes for food. My 3 year old is truly the worst. We are considering looking into an occupational therapist because he eats about 5 foods and hyperventilates and gags if we try to make him try new stuff. He used to eat pouches....I’d kill for those now. I keep hoping he would see the baby eat food and try it but so far no luck. L on the other hand LOVES food. Please give me one good eater!! clementine those pictures are gorgeous!!

Sorry I haven't been posting I was reading but really annoyed at tapatalk cause I was trying side Monday to post my long ole post for the check in thread and every time I hit YES to use my previous draft it would crash. I was hoping not to retype. O well.
I am too excited it's "Christmas". My little brother was voice and video messaging me from Old Town Albuquerque last night. 😍 I've been really behind with the house so haven't got Christmas decor out yet 😓(I'll pry leave it up till the end of January at least since we'll be gone for two weeks in Jan) but today I ordered two red 8" jingle bells from PBK for $20!!
Also I'm so excited for the trip in January. Bad news is it'll be 72 hours of driving in Canada. 🤦 but we get to see my sis and her newborn and a bunch of other family that DH hasn't even met. We won't be with anyone at Christmas so no gifts then(besides stockings for us three) but I'm having fun buying for the people we'll see in January. Hope the gifts don't take up too much space! 😯

clementine those photos are amazing!! So far I’m blessed with good eaters. I never fed them daycare food, I felt like it was too plain and repetitious. The meals you’re describing sound amazing!! I’d love that alas, my standards have dropped and “cheese plates” are a regular thing over here. Cold veggies, hummus, meat, cheese and crackers. They eat it and it’s easy. Done.
