Gotcha. I was an Obama fan so maybe I was in a little echo chamber of only positive news but I guess not. How does the govt continue to function with so much turnover?? Parts of it are very much not functioning as normal. But realistically, it's all the day-to-day normal employees who really keep everything running. Thank you for saying this.

I can see how the "shoulder shrugging" strategy works for them, but Trump has no chill about these things. Within a few days he will go on Twitter and make things worse.

Have we talled about the Comey transcripts at all? I thought this was interesting: I read the first 70 pages and gave up. But yeah, to me this is the essence of it, to me. Gowdy et al are cherry picking a couple text messages critical of 45 and ignoring the big picture.

This is not normal. At all. Gotcha. I was an Obama fan so maybe I was in a little echo chamber of only positive news but I guess not. How does the govt continue to function with so much turnover?? Not well. Obama had five CoS in eight years. It is a high pressure job. So that position doesn’t concern me as much as the rest of the positions going unfilled or held by completely unqualified people

He doesn't elaborate on it further in the article, but I'm not sure where all of his confidence in this comes from.

I think also a lot of people that were on the campaign take positions in the early administration and then don’t stay because, again, high pressure and coming on the heels of the high pressure of the campaign. Same reason normally major turnover from first term to second term and many cabinet positions change. What I do think is more surprising is the very short notice for so many positions, which we all know is because people are getting fired or forced to resign. I think in prior administrations there was more of a planned transition, because everyone is looking for a smooth transition.

Also normally WH experience opens up a lot of opportunities. I don’t think that alumni of this administration are finding that to be true though.
