I've been building my registries. It will end up being target and Amazon. My word of thought for this moment is GLASS BOTTLES It was such a nuisance to clean the milk fat off plastic bottles. Glass will come clean easier in the dishwasher. Also, don't get a ton of bottles. Then you have to stay on top of dishes more often. Yeah, you will still run out. But 6 is more than plenty. Lol DD was so tiny we used the 2oz bottles forever, then we had so many of the 4oz bottles, then 6-8 8oz bottles. We have bottles for days. I don't even know why we didn't just get the bigger bottles after the 2oz ones, but alas. We're set in bottles. i have our bottles from ds. I just hated cleaning them so much I want glass. And yes seriously. Just get the 8oz ones!!

One other thing!
Get. The. Nose frida.
Yes it is creepy. Yes it will save your life. No you don't actually get snot anywhere near your mouth.
It kinda goes back to the flu season post (I haven't read it though). But it is such a life saver when they get sick. Ds got RSV at 3.5wks. It really really made a huge difference for us.

I even have brand new ones that were never opened! Crazy! Also we predominantly used 4oz. The 8oz was too heavy when I was pumping. I also couldn't pump more than 4oz so. Also yes...the glass is much easier to clean and also to sterlize. I just boil them in a pan of water every night and didn't have to worry about it melting. Etc. it was only in the last yr that we started using the 8oz bottles. Yes! DS still drinks milk from a bottle and he's 3! 😛 ssm , if you end up with evenflo glass bottles, try dr.brown nipples, I found that the evenflo nipples leaked and the dr. Browns didnt but then again my bottles are 10 yrs old.

CoachTsWife, with the Amazon diapers rewards, I believe you need to spend a min of 1K off your registry to qualify. And it's $100 worth of diapers. Lol! That part I got, the other discount part got me utterly confused😂

I am starting to look at sound only monitors. I am not sure if I want to get the same one cos I see there are cheaper options. We currently have an Angelcare with the sensor pad which we'll be using for bubs so will need one for DS as he's currently using the sound option for it now. Do you guys have ones you liked? Any recos?

ssm, they def have more glass options now. My sister had a hard time looking for glass 10 yrs ago. I am of no help since I"ll just use what I have. No sense in getting new ones. I think evenflos are budget friendly compared to the other brands if that's a factor.

ssm, good tip on the glass bottles thing. I was curious. I will probably add a couple of different sizes to the registry.

I had the sound only monitor by AngelCare for DD and it didn't last very long before breaking. smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00E1CIGAE/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Yeah, I'm a prime member but I don't see the "Free Diapers" tab next to the "Welcome Box" tab on the registry dashboard like the page you linked indicates. Several items have been purchased from the registry, so I thought it would show but it isn't there.

I've decided my number one thing I want for this baby that I don't already have is a bassinet. This is what I plan to use while baby is in our room after he's born. So now I'm online shopping and obsessing over all the bassinets. I like the portable ones for their smaller size and of course portability for vacations and such. If anyone has any recs, I'm open to hearing them!

The co-sleeper attaches to the bed, and it gave me peace of mind that if the baby did ever roll off the bed, he would roll into the cosleeper (never happened). Also, I would put the baby to sleep in the cosleeper, and we would go about our night, only bringing the baby into the bed after we had called it a night ourselves. I tried the rock n play next to the bed, but I didn't like how far I had to lean down to get the baby. It was just tough to reach the baby from the bed.

DS dropped his humidifier last week, so I need to get a new one. I'm actually kind of glad because I wasn't that crazy about the one we had.

Oh and keep an eye out for baby stuff during prime day next week. I think pampers were 50% off.

I was just looking at glass bottles today!! How odd that I'd finally make it back here and we are talking about them too.
I am getting a bunch of plastic bottles from my SIL so I'm thinking about splurging on some 8oz glass ones. I like that they're easy to clean and after my battle with IF I'm hyper paranoid of BPA and plastics in general (even though bottles cannot be made with bpa plastic anymore). Still undecided on brand.

I have to tell you guys about this crazy thing that has happened twice now on my Amazon baby registry. So, I regularly check the registry items for price increases/decreases, just to see if I need to start shopping around someplace else if something shoots up in price or runs out of stock. Anyways, last week, I noticed the price on a woombie swaddle I wanted jumped by like $10. I edited the item with a comment - stating "don't buy this until price goes down to $27. If price doesn't go down, purchase from woombie.com"
Within 3 hours of me puttting in that comment, the item on my Amazon registry dropped back to $26.99.
I thought it was a fluke, but then it happened again with a diaper pail I had on my Amazon list. I put in the comment section to get the pail from Walmart if the price didn't go down to $30. Sure enough, the next day, the price went down to $29.95.
Sooo....just a PSA for everyone - might be a fluke, but maybe Amazon somehow tracks the comments and prices on your registry and will price match if you write your price ceiling?
A skip hop backpack diaper bag that I have on my registry just shot up in price by $20. I put in the comment section to get it from Kohls for $79 if the Amazon price doesn't drop back to $80. We'll see what happens.

Wow, thanks for the tip Taitai. If anybody needs me today I'll be price checking and adding comments to items on my amazon registry.

I wonder if it works if I put "do not buy unless free". 😉
