What does your week look like?
This Friday I'm getting a massage with my sister before we head to Chattanooga for bachelorette weekend. I'm just trying to make it to then.

Back to our normal routine. B has school and I’m grocery shopping today. Nothing too exciting this week. DH and I have a shopping date planned for Saturday. We make a day of it - get the rest of our shopping done, grab lunch, and probably a brewery or two.
Anyone going to take advantage of any good cyber Monday deals? Shutterfly seems to have a good one so I’m hoping I can get the kids pictures done today and ordered. DH told me last night he wants an electric toothbrush for Xmas so I’m on the hunt for that as well.

Busy week for us! Just had the Pest inspector come and tell us that we may have a few (3-4) bats living up in our attic. I love bats so was happy they have a no kill way to deal with it. I have that meeting today at work here shortly (go to private board if you're confused) and I have an aquatics department meeting, so I'll be on Tapa today. I have been taken off the schedule so I won't be at the Y from 10-7pm so that's a plus! 10-3 though... but aquatics meetings I attend are usually short because it's all the olds (over 20) and we rarely get wet. We go over procedures and talk about what happened this past month. I'm still on the schedule for tomorrow night in childwatch but I guess that can change by noon. I teach 2 classes in swimming this week. L has gymnastics and Speech on Wednesday. I have a meeting (which I may not have to attend after this morning too) then the fun begins! Thursday morning we'll be at JCPenny for photos and in the mall for Santa photos and Friday is the Journey to the North Pole! This kid has been obsessed with The Polar Express book and movie so I'm excited for him. We've been pointing out Santa in books and on TV so I'm hoping he'll feel comfortable with him at the mall and on the journey. Then my baby turns 2 on Sunday! Edit for clarification

Happy Monday all!
Tea collection and Hanna Andersson both have sales on things I like for M, but I just don’t feel like spending the money. Should probably go take my temperature or something....

Lol, I do this all the time. I look at myself and think, who are you right now? I love a good sale, but will usually talk myself out of buying a lot of things. That good little financial angel on my shoulder really needs a high five now and again because I’d be in a ton of debt if it weren’t for her.

Picked up an extra shift today and I'm totally regretting it, it's a shit show (and not because of the kids, because of dis-organization and poor communication). DH leaves on Thursday so the next few days will be hectic making sure I'm not left with a list of stuff to do solo.

Yesterday was my official 5yr anniversary at work, so my team is taking me out to celebrate today! Tacos, chips and guac and this amazing Mexican street corn 🤤
I’ve browsed their menu for the past 15 mins drooling, I mean planning, what tacos I’m getting.
I’ll be in a good coma the rest of the afternoon!

Morning all!
Got in my early morning work out and the kids were great this morning, so far a pretty good Monday.
My cat, Pete, was sneezing a week or so ago and so I was saying 'Bless you Pete' every time and Julia became obsessed and was saying it along with me. So this weekend she sneezed and said 'Bless you, me'....I die of cuteness.

Ugh. Work sucks, someone take me back to 1:30pm Wednesday when I was looking at a whole 4 day weekend.
Tomorrow is DS2's birthday, so we're going out to Red Robin for that. Then Friday is the IEP meeting for DS1's new preschool. Saturday is DS2's birthday party. I think that's about it for this week. Our December weekends are pretty much all filled up. I love the holidays, but next year I need to remember to space things out.

Hi ladies. Both H and I took today off. We have been very unproductive and lazy. A guy is supposed to come this afternoon to install the cabinet hardware throughout the house. I can't wait to have that done! Now we really need to get the mirrors figured out. I mostly know what we want to do but actually doing it seems to be impossible.
Yesterday we went to the little German Christmas town to see Santa. C was not impressed. He didn't cry or anything but he had zero interest in sitting in his lap and was trying to slide off the whole time. Such a punk lol.

I was looking at Boden and couldn't really find anything I had to buy. Very unusual for me. I bought HA stuff two weeks ago though, so... I'm just glad the current sales aren't any better than before when I bought those things. I keep feeling like Black Friday and Cyber Monday don't really offer up much. These days retailers seem to do plenty of big sales (40-60% off and such) at various times throughout the year so I never end up feeling like there's anything I absolutely have to buy.

I strained my upper back at some point last week while toddler wrangling and it's gotten so awful in the past couple of days. The muscle tension is affecting those around my right lung in the back so I can inhale or exhale too deeply or else it all seizes up. Bending over and lifting are also painful, which is a problem as I have to do it anyway because kid.

A hasn't started in on the me/my thing but she has started trying to say her name and refer to herself that way. It comes out as "Yay-ya" and it's my absolute favorite.

I was trying to teach O to say “my turn, please” instead of snatching a toy out of your hands. The sharing has gotten so bad lately. It kind of back fired on me b/c now he screams “MY TURN!” while still snatching the toy out of your hands. 🤷🏻♀️

I went to The Joint today and they rubbed my back with biofreeze, massaged some parts and got it to pop better than I could. It's much better than it was.

Are H and I being unreasonable?
So SIL's dog (a French Bulldog) has always been good with the kids. She kissed them, let them pet her, whatever. They aren't mean, they just like to get in her face and play.
Until two weekends ago when MIL agreed to let the dog stay with us. The dog follows us wherever because she's very needy. So she followed H and the kids to the playroom and then when the kids were playing with her as per, she kind of nipped at K. Later that day, K was in her face and the dog actually bit her on the nose. Not too hard, just enough to be like, hey kid get away. But still, that's too much. So we tried to keep the kids away from her.
But you know, there are three kids and MIL/SIL like to go shopping for hours on end and leave the dog unattended with us and the kids. So Saturday, J went to pet the dog on the back (again after following J and I to the playroom) and when he touched her, she started growling and baring her teeth. I got J out of there, but that seems to be an escalation to us so now we're kind of fucking freaked out by the dog being around the twins. The twins have a hard time staying away from her, and even when they do, the dog follows us and parks herself right by the kids, then gets pissy when they pay attention to her. We spent Thanksgiving and the two days after she was here trying to keep the kids away from the dog, especially after the growl. Wyatt pretty much leaves her alone.
This weekend while I am out of town, H is supposed to take the kids to ILs place in SC for the weekend. He wanted the help and it's the SEC Championship so they are making a weekend out of it.
SIL found out and is now talking about going, with her dog, and H is really upset that now he has to worry about the dog while he's there. I get it and I agree. Because again, not only is there this constant trying to keep the kids away, but MIL/SIL will inevitably head to the outlet mall and leave H to manage the dog and kids.
H told MIL his concerns and she pretty much dismissed him saying she doesn't think the dog will do anything, and that seems to be the consensus between her and SIL. I think that's kind of a fucking stupid assumption but you guys tell me.
I'm losing sleep over this damn dog. My gut tells me this is a huge problem.

starbuck absolutely not. The dog needs to stay separated from them if they’re in the same house. Dog bites are no joke and a nip in the nose and teeth baring can easily escalate in less time than someone close could react and pull the dog away. In our house people rule. Between the dogs there’s is no alpha because I am the MF boss. There are certain rules that go along with that like making clear “our” spaces and “their” spaces. Mia’s play area is one of those places. I love dogs, Sophie especially, but a dog is a dog and that love will never eclipse my child’s safety. That dog needs boundaries now. ETA some dogs and their personalities don’t require such a hard line approach. Our males require it and that’s where it started. I consider a dog showing aggression to fall under that umbrella. It’s probably following the twins everywhere because it considers everything in the house his and doesn’t want them touching it.

starbuck Nope. Nope. Nope. The dog can be boarded. If you've already seen the dog be aggressive, it will only get worse. Good luck telling a small child to stay away from a dog, because that will work... Just out of curiosity, how old is the dog? Our staffordshire bull terrier started nipping at the kids right before she got sick and we had to put her down.

I agree with sophiegrace starbuck. I love animals and I've known some beautiful gentile animals. But I don't trust them. It is stupid to think that a dog would never hurt someone. They can be wonderfully trained and lovely creatures and go their whole life without hurting a fly, but there is ALWAYS a possibility, and if the dog is showing amy signs of aggression (or dominance or anything else like that) then I would be very cautious.

starbuck, I agree with everything sophiegrace said. Definitely don't think you're being unreasonable. Is the dog living with you guys now, or does SIL just leave it there when she goes somewhere?

starbuck, I agree with everything sophiegrace said. Definitely don't think you're being unreasonable. Is the dog living with you guys now, or does SIL just leave it there when she goes somewhere? SIL asks MIL to watch the dog whenever she travels (which basically means H and I do the work without being asked), and brings the dog whenever she comes to visit. She's not here full time but it's a lot.

starbuck I don’t think you’re being unreasonable at all. It’s clear that they don’t have the same worries because they always leave the responsibility to someone else. No joke, I’d be buying a kennel and putting it in there. Like you keed another living thing to worry about, no thanks.
