Still feel super congested - the nice part of working with kids is they don’t care. They don’t mind if I blow my nose 100+ times or sniffle or whatever.
DD1 and DD2 both have a bad cough and little to no appetite. BUT they are both happy and are playing normally so I assume they are just recovering from a cold. DD2 tested negative for all the major stuff at the pedi last week. I’m not trying to infect the world at large but I can’t keep them home for every sniffle and cough either. 😕

cythe i am laughing at E letting the water run out after sinking. DD2 did just that tonight and I should have stopped her but it was nice to see her being silly and goofy after being so sick. They’ll stop eventually... probably... doodlemommy sending all the healthy vibes your way. Ugh. It sounds exactly like what’s rolling through our house. We are on day 8 of somebody having it (or actually 3 somebodies at this point). LO is not sleeping here either. CoachTsWife December bills are definitely the worst.

I am so sorry to hear about all the sickness for kiddos and parents alike! This kind of makes me glad we’re not going back to the states for Christmas this year. I feel so much goes around during the holidays. cythe I love your SS gift! Let me know how you like that brand - I’ve never tried it! Scare your H with a mask too 😁

I'm dying at the packaging of the charcoal mask. No one looked at this and thought maybe black instructions on black packaging was a bad idea?

At least you have the drawings...😂🤣 I have seen so much non-sensical packaging out here, plus bad translations. This one is pretty terrible.

I took the baby to get his 12 month shots this morning and whoops, we skipped the 6 month rounds somehow. So we are getting him back on track. I think I’m going to WFH with him so he can sleep.

any other little ones cutting their first molars yet? We saw DD2’s peeking through a few days ago and it’s *almost-* all the way through now. This probably didn’t help her current cold and cough either.

This kid slept 11:45-3pm and back down for the night at 6. I thought for sure he’d stay up longer! So I rushed to get a peanut butter sandwich in him since dinner wasn’t ready yet. He’s in the 40% for weight and the doctor made a comment about how his percentile had dropped low (from 75%) and to make sure he’s getting 3 meals a day, etc. I mean, he eats nonstop and adult sized servings it seems.
I know we’ve talked about this but what/how much do you give at one meal? For instance for lunch I gave him black beans, peas, yogurt pouch, sliced cheddar cheese, and jello. And when he woke up he ate a granola bar and a Hawaiian roll with butter. I’m just stuffing him so he’ll gain more now.

E always gets a fruit and veggie pouch, usually a finger food fruit or veg (pears, bananas or carrots right now), a meat or scrambled egg and some yogurt because she doesnt drink milk. I usually throw in a grain as well because the doc said I should haha. Some days its just graham crackers... Edit - my kids love language is food, so she eats good sized portions of everything.

My kid eats a lot of anything and everything. He was in the 70%ile at a year. Breakfast is a fruit (he loves oranges, berries of any kind, grapes and bananas) and a muffin (homemade with applesauce and whole wheat flour, low sugar etc...this week is pumpkin, last week was carrot). If the muffins are gone or on the weekend he will do pancakes or waffles or scrambled eggs etc. Lunch is usually a sandwich (one piece of bread with natural peanut butter) or cheese and crackers or left overs with fruit and veggie. A pouch instead of fresh veggies sometimes or if he is still hungry. Supper he eats what we eat. Tonight that was half a grilled ham and cheese sandwich, a peach fruit cup and a few bites of tomato soup. We don’t do a lot of snacks but if he gets a snack it’s an applesauce or fruit and veggie pouch or fresh fruit like 90% of the time. Occasionally something else but we aren’t big snackers so options are limited. He isn’t big on milk, he drinks maybe 4 oz total most days, but he still nurses twice a day and likes cheese/yogurt etc so the pedi said he’s fine.

4 oz might be generous. Today he drank maybe 1-2 oz over all 3 meals. Some days more but DD also wasn’t (and still isn’t) a big fan of milk 🤷♀️

This probably didn’t help her current cold and cough either. DS still just has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. He has been drooling like crazy on and off for 2+ weeks now so I keep expecting to see another tooth popping through but nothing yet!

I remember that DS1 was miserable when his molars came in, so I am dreading when we reach that point with LO 😩

Food over here is similar to others. LO eats 1-2 pouches (fruit/veggies/chicken) at each meal, and then he eats some of whatever we are having - be it a sandwich, noodles, burrito, burger, waffles, crepes, sticky rice and larb, xiao long bao - anything. For snacks he likes graham crackers, fruit, veggies, and oatmeal. Cheerios are a big hit too. He still breastfeeds twice during the day, plus at wakeup, bedtime, and at least once MOTN, so I think he’s not as interested yet in cows milk - he seems to prefer water and breast milk for now.

I think our problem is dinner. I pick him up from daycare around 5pm and he is ready to sleep for the night by 6. Sometimes sooner. I feed him dinner when I can, but a lot of the time keeping him up long enough to eat is a disaster and he ends up not eating and screaming until I just lay him down. I can get 5oz in him if I’m lucky. I don’t think daycare would feed him again since there is only one person working at the end of the day.

We don’t do pouches other than Greek yogurt. Maybe that’s an easy thing to grab and add for a quick on the go thing to get some more calories in him. I know 40% isn’t really cause for alarm but I don’t want him to continue to drop lower.

I know when E is ready for food, that pouch lasts all of maybe 15 seconds.

We are making limited progress with walking/crawling over here. She looks like she wants to crawl but will NOT go up on her knees. So, she scoots on her butt everywhere she wants to go. Today she made it all the way to the cat water dish before I heard splashing. She was soaked from lunch when she decided waterfall sippy cup water was a good idea, so I just grabbed an old towel and let her enjoy her scooting victory.

I've been meaning to post about food. It took him what seemed like forever to make progress on solids but he's now eating about the same things as DS1, just smaller portions. Some type of breakfast casserole or sausage/eggs for breakfast, sometimes a coconut flour muffin. Lunch is leftovers, meat with a starchy veg and a green veg usually, and some full fat greek yogurt. Supper is protein and vegetables. He isn't very interested in fruit. Pouches are used when we aren't having something easy for him to eat, like chili, when he's extra hungry, or for snacks.
I send 2 bottles of breast milk to daycare - I treat those as his snacks. I'll keep sending those until I run out of freezer milk, and I'll probably start sending only one around Christmas/first of year. I nurse him when he wakes up in the morning and at bedtime, which I plan to keep doing for several months yet.

We booked a trip to Mexico last weekend. The trip is to celebrate my milestone (ahem) birthday. We're going in early March, about a month after my birthday. We SO need a trip away, just the two of us. I have been pregnant, nursing, or both since October 2014 and haven't left LO yet and have only left DS1 a couple times (obv when LO was born, and he stayed with my mom for about 36 hours once last summer). I'm so very excited. (And also nervous to leave the boys, especially LO, for 5 days but we won't talk about that.)

So jealous - I love Mexican food and drinks. Very excited for you!

Dd eats what we eat and I modify slightly for her, at daycare she’s sitting at the table with the rest of the bigger kids eating off a plate. Lately she’s been weird about meat and getting her hands dirty. I still offer everything but whether or not she eats it is a different story. I nurse once a day on the days I work and on the days I don’t and she’s home with me it seems like she’s a newborn.

DH and I took the day off to go to a teaching session for Celiac as required by the hospital. They start the clock from here on checking for progress even though we’ve been gluten free for a month already. We are planning on going for lunch in the city before but some freezing rain may mess with our plans. I scored a deal on a convertible car seat on Black Friday and it’s showing up today so we can finally ditch the bucket seat.

Gosh. they grow so quickly

We decided to take a trip to celebrate my 40th birthday several months back. Seemed like so far off at the time and we never booked anything. I waffled back and forth about it the whole month of November, but finally contacted a travel agent because I was experiencing analysis paralysis, wanting to make it the perfect trip since we were so overdue. It is booked finally and we are excited. !!!

Remember when we were all pregnant with our 017 babies and I confessed that I ordered like 80 sheet masks from Naruko?
Whelp - as of tonight, they are all gone. Sad. Fingers crossed Santa brings me some new ones!

Crazy that today is the last day of November. i have pretty much completed xmas shopping for DH and M and both sets of parents - just need 1 thing for step dad.
i spent wayyy too much money this month so any vacations we decide to take will have to be planned next month!! it's hard to push the button though!

codex320 “like” was for accomplishing all that Christmas shopping... not spending all the $$ which we seem to be doing here Taitai if..... and that’s a big if..... if I were to open myself up to trying a face mask in 2019.... even if it contains snail goop 🐌.... where might I start? I have super dry skin. I also live in the middle of no where so if H is going to play Santa it probably needs to be available on Amazon. CoachTsWife a trip away sounds amazing! You and your H will have a great time.
