DH took a half day so I’m 1/4 parenting DH is doing the other 3/4. Wine in my glass and we have a ton of snow on the ground. Kids were in daycare so I got a bunch of errands done, including an outfit for DH’s Xmas dinner at a steak house in the city.
I know you all aren’t crazy about pro pictures but I am! We are taking the girls to get Christmas ones done tomorrow. I like to send out cards with the pictures even though last year was an all time low for receiving Christmas cards.

I decided last minute to snag tickets to the local Polar Express train tide . I convinced my friend to join the girls and I since H had to coach an away bball game. She was the biggest help holding snacks, entertaining babies, and taking pictures. We had so much fun and now I want to put up the Christmas tree! (no more holding still for pics with DD2 now that we’re walking!)

Can someone please tell me how to capture the feel of LOs fuzzy head, his soft cheeks against my face, and his squishy legs? He's changing so fast and I just....can't deal with my baby getting big.

My dad brought his mom down to see the girls. DD2 is actually named after her and it was so sweet to see them together. They only stayed a few hours but it was good to have them here and my house has not been this clean in awhile 😂
As soon as the girls wake up we are putting up the Christmas tree 🎄

I want to decorate so bad! We don’t get our tree til Black Friday. Last year we cut one down so I think that’s our new tradition. DS keeps asking when are we going, but I’m sure he’ll cry when we actually chop it down.

danvers That polar express ride sounds like so much fun! Is this a thing people do now in the states? Is it just a regular train? If so, do they serve hot chocolate like in the book, and see Santa at the end? Or more like a kids fair ride? Maybe I will try to take the kids the next time we spend Christmas in the states.

We normally never decorate before Black Friday, but DH and I picked up some cute decor from IKEA, so we put that stuff up right away. We still need to put up the tree, stockings, and other decorations that are packed away, but DS1 is so happy that our home looks a little festive.
We also had some friends and their 2 kids over yesterday to bake and decorate cut out Christmas cookies. We made 150 cookies 😁😂🤣😩. My hands were so sore from frosting all of them by the time we were done!
We sent my friends home with 75% of them and gave 20% to my nanny - keeping only like 7 cookies for ourselves...which is fine by me! If they are in the house, I’ll eat them! Too much of a temptation!

danvers, when did DD start walking!! I totally missed it! Lil fella started standing independently for about a minute the last couple of days. That's awesome that you got to take the girls to ride the Polar express! It's always sold out here plus tickets are not cheap. DS would lose his mind if we take him...maybe when both boys are a little older we'll go. cythe, the grams are certainly a special breed. I am sure when we get to their age, our kids would be like "WTF are they thinking?!!" Taitai, that's a lot of cookies! and frosted on top of that...I am impressed. I hear you about having them at home and eating them. CoachTsWife, if you figure it out, plz let us know..I've been recording as much babble chatter and sounds lil fella makes. I wished I had done that with DS

Taitai the Polar express train rides are certainly popular. The tickets here are always sold out. It's also quite a dear family affair. DS would completely lose his mind if we took him. We might consider taking both boys when older as an early Christmas present plus the times aren't great for us now - too late. Here's an example of the event description. coloradorailroadmuseum.org/the-polar-express-train-ride/ I also wonder what all happens? Let me know how you like the cake. I am committed! I already got the ingredients so will be making it. I think pepitas would be quite nice and you should be able to get it easily there.

It snowed today so it was a prefect stay home day so we watched an old Pooh Bear movie from the 70s and DS loved it and couldn't stop giggling. I also baked our Thanksgiving cheesecake and I am now resisting temptation and waiting for it to cool down before wrapping it up to stash it in the freezer. Lil fella started standing unsupported for about a minute the last couple of days. He also imitated hubs saying "Rabble rabble" ala South Park tonight and it was too funny and cracks himself up when he burps and toots - I see the Y chromosome is already strong at this age.

duskymonkey That cheesecake looks SO GOOD. Yummmmm. I’m so excited about the pumpkin cake - I will try to make the pepitas - I’ve never done it before! Also, that Polar Express train ride looks amaaaazing. DS1 would loose it if we took him on it. I think we’ll definitely try it sometime when we are back in the states and both kids are old enough to enjoy it!
