We are on our way to STL ... again. First stop is to the Apple store for an appointment to fix Sierra’s iPod. She managed to disable it while we were on vacation. It says to connect to iTunes but iTunes isn’t recognizing the device. So after an only hat with support couldn’t fix it they are sending me there.

Then headed to see my nieces and nephew and sister at their new house. Tomorrow going to see my grandparents at their new place (assisted living facility). Then Tuesday is EEG and neurologist.

Laundry is my big adventure today. May go for a short walk but it's not very appealing to walk around here with limited sidewalks and temps in the 20s.

Lazy day here. We went to Panera and the arcade this morning followed by groceries. In an hour we are going to kids opening day Providence Bruins hockey game. It should be fun but I’m tired. I tried to nap but C was so loud I only slept a half hour.

Happy birthday boss lady flamingo! I was eyeing calico critters and the target woodeez - maybe I should get N a starter pack and see if she has interest.

Mh woke up with a man cold and went back to bed ..for 3 hours🙄. And he was surprised I was glaring at him when he arose and then took forever to shower. So we missed our pre-nap window to do anything. N is now napping and planning to go over to the house and make sure it's okay and see how neglected the leaf situation is😬. We have like 6 oaks right over us that are dumping leaved and acorns. I also am on the hunt for a lost library book, it's driving me nuts. I know I'm going to pay for it and then promptly find it..

The bowling birthday party was a hit and the boys took turns napping - Chase on the way there and Colin on the way home. Of course they're nuts now and despite having a quiet day to himself, DH is grumpy. Sigh...

We opted for CC just b/c it's the modern-day version of what I had as a kid, Sylvanian Families (anyone else remember these?) And you can get them on Amazon, so it's easy for family to order add-ons.

Regardless, I highly recommend them! We got her the Townhouse gift set (which comes with some basic furniture) and SIL sent a family of bears and some living room furniture. The bears and sofa and chairs came to brunch with us (lol) and other than to eat they have not left her grip all day; she has been playing with everything non-stop since we got home. Too cute. So I think we scored a hit.

flamingo I had Sylvanian Families too and loved them. I still have them at my parents house and the girls play with them when we visit. I'm glad C is excited about hers.

C had a great time at the ho key game and was really well behaved. Unfortunately I was not aware the toy giveaway was only for the first whatever number of people there so we missed it. I felt bad so we now own a $20 stuffed animal that he will forget about in three days 😐

Counting down until bedtime and then Dh and I are starting Maniac on Netflix. I also asked him today if he would be interested in a date night soon and he said yes. So that’s a step in the right direction.

That’s great that your folks saved them! No clue what happened to mine—I think they ended up at my grandparents’ but probably were pitched when they passed away, house was cleaned out, etc.

My dad was a big purger and got rid of my BRIO train set 😒 which kills me bc that stuff’s expensive and we’ve spent a small fortune acquiring it for B!

flamingo Happy Birthday to C! I too had Sylvanian Family. I had a house and a tree house. My mom may still have them, I have to ask her. While my sisters and I had to share the house and furniture and stuff, we each had our own “family.” Mine were brown bears, one of them had rabbits and one had white bears I think.

C is 11 months today and I forgot to do his photos for the first time. I spent hours cleaning DS1’s room today. He’s 11 and I found size 5 underwear in his drawer. Then we went to football at my sister’s. DH is packing for an early flight, he will be at his California office all week. Of course we have a million things that all end way past bedtime the next few nights.

I feel like I’ve won the lottery tonight. N and I watched a movie that ended at 7... I gave N his shower and took a shower with C while N was getting ready for bed, we read a book and listened to a story and both boys were asleep before 8:30.
N hasn’t fallen asleep before 10pm in weeks. Possibly months.

Both kids are in bed; B is sound asleep but C is singing/talking, and has been for well over an hour...she is WIRED after a regrettably long/late nap and a birthday cupcake after dinner. Oops.

No school tomorrow due to the holiday; B did great today without any pain meds until right before bedtime, he said his throat was hurting a bit. Some Tylenol seemed to take care of it. I think he will definitely be ready to go back to school on Tuesday (amen!)

Ok party stress gone. Now trip stress gets bigger. I just found out that Petsmart’s hotel is booked thanksgiving week so I don’t know where we are going to keep Dexter.

Any kennels nearby? That is what we always do for our lab.

After work I came home and took a super long nap. DH attempted to make fried rice, which wasn’t fried at all. He literally made rice, chicken and peas/carrots, threw them in the pan together and that was it. I had to swoop in and actually make it right. It’s the thought that counts though, right? Both girls are in bed and I’m catching up on some tv shows from my DVR. I think I’m going to stop watching this is us, it just doesn’t hold my attention.

flamingo I’m thinking about getting S calico critters for Christmas. She is obsessed with cats, and all animals really, and I can see her holding on to the figures and never letting them go. Either that or I’ll get her more little people stuff.

Also, hi! I drank too much wine at my in laws’ house. They brought me Mozart candy from Austria and smoked paprika from Budapest! They also smuggled in some giant kinder eggs for the kids.

Have you looked at Rover.com?  I downloaded the app since Addie can't go to a kennel yet and was surprised at the cost to have someone stay at our house while we were gone.
