I have seen the baby twice. And will have a nuchal translucency screening/ ultrasound **monday, I can’t keep track of what day it is apparently *** and am still not feeling confident that everything will be ok. don’t understand why. This pregnancy everything is easy. Wish I could stop looking for trouble. I don’t need any hair pats. Just want to put it somewhere. Do you think you'll feel better once you can feel the baby moving? I was feeling the same way my first pregnancy and the only thing that made me finally feel like everything was really ok was when I started feeling movement.

We told the kids (2.5 and 4). The 4 year old proceeded to ask how the baby got in my tummy. I was not prepared. And book recommendations? Or just good explanations for a 4 year old?

Yikes, I don't know - but let me know what you find bc I have a feeling it'll be coming once my 3 yr old grasps the whole thing-maybe when my belly starts growing. We told him about the baby bc he was with us during the ultrasound, but he definitely thought the Dr. was looking at my toes...lol and since it was transvaginal I just left it at that. I've mentioned the baby being in my belly, but he just isn't that interested right now (although excited to be a big brother). I've also tried not to make it too big of a deal bc I don't want him to also realize that is why I've been sick and already have negative feelings about the baby.

@starzia, I hope you’re able to feel baby soon to help with the anxiety! It’s so hard to kick that general worry, even if you know that everything points to it being fine. courtniko, no advice, but good luck with that talk!

I had a really fun afternoon tea with some of my friends for my birthday. It was nice getting together a bunch of friends. We chatted and drank tea for about 3 hours!
Now I’m curled up in comfy sweats. It’s been snowing all day, so it’s nice to be in for the night.

We’re visiting family for Thanksgiving and I’m already tired just thinking about it! I’ve tried to make sure there’s time to rest each day, and that we’re not overdoing it. Last night H was talking to MIL about what we are going to do on Monday and she was suggesting things like going to the shooting range (nope, don’t need to be around lead) so we’ll see what the visit really turns into...

Can you sneak in a pedicure or movie that might be an "event" but something that you can relax during?

I HATE people touching my feet, so no pedicures for me!

Add me to the feeling stressed/overwhelmed crowd. My uncle died suddenly a couple days ago very unexpectedly and I've been a total wreck since then. It's going to be so hard getting through the funeral and seeing my cousins because they are just devastated.
Besides all that, in the next few week, I have to cook the turkey for my families thanksgiving tomorrow, plan a trip four hours away for the funeral, come back, work thanksgiving, my nephews birthday party the next day, then possibly travel to MHs family for thanksgiving 3 hours away after that. Hopefully MH steps up and helps me a lot because I don't know how I'm going to make it.

From what I understand, it’s really unlikely that a cold would affect the pregnancy, though I’m sure it’s hard to shake the worry after losses.

I hope you and F feel better quickly, lolacachia. And I hope some sleep gets you out of your spiral. I find I can work myself up more at night, and see things in a better light when i get a good nights sleep, i hope that turns out to be the case for you.

I ended up having my first u/s this weekend. I went to the walk-in on Saturday afternoon for a UTI that came on pretty fast and furious. I thought it would be a simple pee in the cup and here's your antibiotic, normally I just call my dr's office and say I'm having symptoms and they send the script in but since it was a Saturday I went in. The doctor was concerned because my abdomen was pretty tender on my right side and because I'd seen blood in my urine so they wheeled me over to the ER to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. (not sure if it became an ER situation or because walk-in was closing, or both - but I'm ok with the better safe than sorry approach) ER doc did a bedside u/s and said it looked like placement was ok but since I hadn't had an u/s yet she wanted me to go to imaging to make sure everything checked out because she herself couldn't make out h/b etc. based on her experience and her machine. DH came into the hospital to meet me. FYI, having to drink two giant cups of water and hold your bladder while you have a UTI - not real fun.
The u/s tech had to remind me to breathe a few times because I was so nervous and wouldn't look at the screen but as soon as she showed me the heartbeat I burst into tears. Baby measured 7w2d (based on LMP I thought 8w2d) and heart rate was 150. She said everything looks perfect and ovaries and everything checked out. The pain on the right side was probably a gas bubble. They sent me on my way with an antibiotic and I've been guzzling water and cranberry juice (and hoping not to pee my pants).
tl/dr: UTI led to U/S. Adjusted due date is Fourth of July, but it's ok if I just stay here right?

Yay for a good ultrasound bearfootzcontinued ! Boo to the UTI and emotional rollercoaster leading you there! Thank you. I just had my first appt. with the OB nurse and she was super sweet. She was so gentle about questions regarding my past pregnancies. I haven't met the OB yet, but the nurse said that I'll just love her. I went to the lab for a ton of blood work, and then have my first appt. with the Dr. in three weeks and she'll do an u/s then. I've heard people talk about how much they love their doctor and I have to admit I just have never had that (not since before I was married at least), so I'm hoping that I'll be happy with this new doctor.

I have to restart PIO. My progesterone was just a little low this morning. I’m bummed about that, but my nurse said about 1/5 woman needs to go back on for another week or so. So, not unusual, and nothing to worry about. But it sucks.
